After Prison, She Shocks the World-Chapter 58 Fu Ning’s Trick
Chapter 58: Chapter 58 Fu Ning’s Trick
Xiaomei hung her head and fell silent.
Aunt Ning didn’t go to comfort her. "You were by her side during her toughest times, and no one can compete with that advantage. If you don’t know how, sign up for a class to learn business socialization—it will help you too."
"I’ll sign up for classes right away."
Xiaomei always felt a sense of urgency. Every day, she felt there was a pile of things to do. With so many things to take care of, she couldn’t get her thoughts in order. Most of her days were spent in internal conflict, draining the energy that should have gone toward getting things done. The lower her efficiency, the more anxious she became. It was a vicious cycle.
As soon as Fu Ning got in the car, she lashed out at Gu Sining furiously.
"Didn’t you say you knew Fu Bing well? Why can’t you even get to see her?"
Gu Sining was bewildered by the scolding. "You can’t blame me for this. You previously said you wanted to thank Sister Bing. You came, but you didn’t convey your intentions. Even if you couldn’t see Sister Bing, you could have at least expressed your gratitude to her servants."
"Are you teaching me how to handle things?"
"Your demeanor earlier resembled someone heading to cause a scene. Though our family may be the wealthiest, they don’t lack money either. Why should they fawn over you?"
The more Gu Sining spoke, the more she felt justified in her reasoning.
Fu Ning was about to explode with rage, jabbing Gu Sining in the head forcefully.
Gu Sining’s head hit the car window with a THUD.
The sound was so loud that the driver looked back through the rearview mirror.
Gu Sining pursed her lips and said no more.
A chill settled in Fu Ning’s heart.
Her daughter, whom she had risked her life to give birth to, was just like Gu Yazheng—always siding with outsiders.
"I truly gave birth to you in vain—you are of no use at all!"
"It wasn’t me who asked you to have a child; you’re the one who wanted children. If you hadn’t, people would have called you a barren hen, and Dad would have despised you. You chose to have my brother and me based on various conditions favorable to you. You were already an adult then, so you need to take responsibility for your actions."
"You always say you made many sacrifices giving birth to me and raising me, so I should be grateful. If I don’t treat you well, I’m unfilial. But you chose to have children for your own benefit. Shouldn’t you be responsible for your actions?"
"Also, I haven’t caused you any trouble. My grades are excellent, and you use them to show off to other wealthy ladies every day. Even when you win, I’ve never heard you thank me."
Gu Sining wanted to say more, but a slap landed on her face.
"Useless thing, get out!"
"Fine, I’ll get out! All you want is for everyone to live according to your wishes, with nobody else having the right to resist," Gu Sining said, her eyes reddening with anger. "I’ve never seen a mother as selfish and self-serving as you!"
"Stop the car! Let her out!"
The driver dared not disobey.
Gu Sining pulled the door open and jumped out.
Before she could find her footing, the car drove off.
Gu Sining, clutching her chest, slowly walked to the shade of the trees.
The fierce sun filtered through the leaves, scorching her face.
It was scalding hot.
Gu Sining felt dizzy, and her chest became increasingly tight.
She dared not ignore it and quickly took out her phone to call Gu Si’an.
"Brother, Mom dumped me on Xilas Road, come and get me."
Gu Si’an could tell something was off in her voice. "I’ll send someone from the hospital to get you."
"I don’t want to see them, I just want to see you."
Gu Si’an had no choice. "Send me your location, and I’ll be right there."
After sending her location, Gu Sining closed her eyes, waiting for waves of dizziness to pass.
She couldn’t help but feel tears roll down from the corners of her eyes.
Her mother only loved herself.
Whoever stood in her way or hindered her plans, she would find a way to get rid of that person.
Just a few days ago, she had been attacked, and yet her mother had the audacity to throw her out of the car on a scarcely traveled path.
If she had an episode, there would be no one around to save her...
The driver looked uneasily at the rearview mirror. "Madam, Miss Sining..."
"Don’t worry about her. She dares to talk back to me at such a young age, what else can you expect from her? In a few years, she will be married off. Will she still have me, her mother, in her heart by then?"
Fu Ning’s expression was cold and indifferent.
Having been a daughter for so many years, did she not know what a married-off daughter was?
Useless!
A useless waste of space!
Instead of giving resources to a useless daughter who wouldn’t repay her maternal family, it was better to cultivate her son properly!
Let her son earn more and more money for her!
With money in hand, would she be worried about finding someone to honor her?
Gu Si’an ran through several red lights to reach where Gu Sining was.
Gu Sining was curled up into a small ball, her eyes red, obviously having just cried.
"Did you make her angry again?"
Gu Sining’s eyes reddened with unshed tears. "Brother, why do I feel that Mom doesn’t love me at all?"
"I’ve told you before, Dad, you, and I are all her trophies; we’re not really considered people," Gu Si’an said gently as he helped her into the car.
The temperature of the air conditioning instantly dispelled the heat from outside.
Gu Si’an stuffed a bowl of warm sticky rice into her hand. "Eat this, and you won’t be sad anymore."
Gu Sining sniffled and began eating little by little.
"I was just with Mom going to thank Sister Bing. For some reason, Sister Bing didn’t want to see us, and Mom got very angry."
Gu Si’an could guess what had happened.
Sining was simple and direct by nature, which must have irked their mother.
"If you really want to say thanks, we will plan properly and show true sincerity."
"Mmmhmm," Gu Sining replied, her mood improving significantly after a few bites of sticky rice. "Brother, Mom wants you to work in the bank, what do you think?"
"I have my own career plans; my company is doing well, and I have no immediate thoughts of changing jobs."
"Mom will definitely be angry when she finds out."
"Let her be angry. We can’t just do whatever she says," Gu Si’an was also feeling annoyed.
Their family was the richest, which could have meant a happy life, but their mother never rested, constantly causing trouble.
Fu Ning had the driver take her to Lady Zhou’s house.
As soon as she saw Lady Zhou, she burst into tears.
"Sister Wu, I failed you. I couldn’t manage the task you assigned," she wept.
Lady Zhou was taken aback. "What happened?"
"This morning I brought a bunch of valuable gifts to see my niece, to thank her for saving Mr. Ren. But not only did she not appreciate it, she threw all the gifts out and said the bank manager’s mother deserved to die, that she wouldn’t even save her!"
Fu Ning said as she wiped away her tears.
Bank Manager Zhou trembled with anger. "Did she really say that?"
"She’s my niece, and she’s so capable. I would love to be on good terms with her, to have her hold a position in our family hospital and earn money comfortably. What she actually said was even more poisonous; I’m too ashamed to repeat it."
Lady Zhou also felt discontent. "Bank Manager Zhou, you can’t just sit by and do nothing. The eyes of Jiangnan are watching you every day. If our mother is bullied by an actor and we don’t stand up for her, then in the future, anyone can trample over us."
Bank Manager Zhou nodded. "In Jiangnan, no one dares to treat me like this! If I don’t vent this anger, I might as well not carry the Zhou surname anymore!"
