After Surviving the Apocalypse, I Built a City in Another World-Chapter 1814: Bored Babies
The team had even built a hamster wheel of sorts for the kids, keeping them running and toddling with those short chonky legs, but it wasn’t enough.
After two or three days, they were back to using their powers so often, and it was, frankly, driving people insane.
"Hweeee~" Meatball giggled when his direction changed. Eagle, the wind user, controlled the wind to get him down.
However, the baby’s force was still independent, and it wasn’t like he could use too much power indoors, so changing the baby’s direction posed a bit of a challenge even to him.
For example, Eagle was luring the baby down to him, though after ’swimming’, the child ended up reaching near his uncle instead.
"Ansel, he’s landing there," he said, making the redhead—who was lounging next to the sofa and reading a romance book—flinch.
"Come here, little Meatball, come to uncle~!" Ansel said, raising his arms. The baby ignored him for a while until Ansel’s raised hand showed a cookie, waving it around enticingly.
It was just that as the baby approached, the image of the guy whose spine literally broke because of Meatball passed by Ansel’s head. The redhead’s eyes twitched and he flinched, his movements becoming more unsure.
Arms weakly and still (reluctantly) raised, he awkwardly looked at Eagle. "Is Garan not here yet?" he asked. Garan was doing his rounds at this time and he knew this, but it was embarrassing to admit he was afraid to carry a baby.
Winona, holding their son, rolled her eyes. "You’re almost level 20 now. You don’t need to worry too much."
"Ah, right right right," Ansel said, awkwardly laughing, raising his hands again.
He was still letting out cold sweat, though. Trauma was trauma.
Anyway, with Eagle’s wind, Meatball slowly descended. Ansel’s eyes squinted and tensely waited for the chonky baby to land on him.
Unexpectedly, he stopped about a foot away, rolling in the air so his diapered bum faced Ansel instead. Little Meatball giggled.
"Ankol stooobid," the milky voice said, proceeding to swim away.
"...." Wow, for an not-yet-a-two-year-old, this kid really had an annoying vocabulary. Where did he learn that?
(Spoiler: It was him)
He did not even notice the cookie was gone.
Winona and the others laughed, and some shook their heads, and Ansel gritted his teeth and went "challenge accepted," and the two played tag inside the house.
Fortunately, the ceiling wasn’t high, and the decently leveled Ansel only had to jump a bit to catch the baby, who immediately cried when his fun was stopped.
"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
It was so loud that Ansel had no choice but to let go, and the baby swam upwards again, giggling.
"..."
Ansel gave out a deep breath before turning to his wife. "Please tell me someone contacted their parents," he asked, tone filled with exasperation.
Eagle’s attention, on the other hand, was now on Pepper, who was still busy playing with her toy cats with ribbons, sitting high above on the beams.
She was making them walk along the edges of the beam, much like how cats really did. It could be seen that she spent a lot of time with Gwen’s cats.
Then, the next moment, she appeared on the ground, and she raised her little arms again.
"Waaa!" Little Pepper yelled. "Kittie!!"
Her cheeks puffed in annoyance, reddened from the cold, and her large blue eyes shimmered as if near tears. Very cute.
"They can’t control it well," Winona observed, heading to the baby girl to carry her in comfort. Eagle also flew a bit to get the toys.
The reason he hadn’t done this before was that he had already tried, and the baby just ended up on a different beam.
Anyway, Althea was indeed contacted, and she actually brought the three old alchemists with her.
The group set up the vestibule as a place to get cleaned up from the snow, and it was also warm enough to take off their coats in. When the group arrived, they were pale and were wearing a large amount of clothing.
"Thank you for coming," Althea said, looking at the old men she troubled to go through the thick snows to head here.
The Golds had limited knowledge of the kids’ situations so she could only try her luck with the three old men. The Golds could only tell that this was unusual, even the situation of their birth, but that was about it. The alchemists were very old and had more connections, so she thought to ask them.
Anyway, working with them for so long told her that they wouldn’t be interested negatively, nor would they purposely harm the children.
"MAMAAAAAA!!!"
The babies yelled as soon as she entered the threshold. The babies couldn’t really control their powers yet, so Meatball, who was floating, suddenly increased his weight so he could go down. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
This also meant he was falling—fast.
Fortunately, Eagle was there to catch the boy, but the way his face twitched and several veins on his arms appeared meant the baby was surprisingly heavy even for a mid-level-20s man.
Of course, not that heavy, so he still carried the baby normally. Anyway, normal babies were too light for his level, and this just balanced things out.
Pepper, on the other hand, also appeared all over the place, ending up in the vestibule. Althea quickly turned and took her into her arms.
And the babies, not knowing the trouble they were causing, happily just embraced their mother, smooching her face and getting smooched back.
At this time, Althea was turned to mush and just embraced and kissed her soft chonky babies.
The three alchemists, on the other hand, were in a daze.
They were called here for help after hearing Althea’s children were in a situation. When asked, Althea was mysterious and just told them it was something that needed to be seen to be believed.
This just made them worried for the kids, not expecting this.
"This..." Cheman gulped, looking at the other two.
"No humans had these powers," Zenno said with certainty, looking at Althea and her children, who were showering each other with kisses, eyes brimming with curiosity.
"What are they?"
