After work, start to speedrun the other world-Chapter 519 - 204: Do You Want to See What’s Under My Skirt?
Several corpses turned to ash as Xi Mu calmly walked out of the alley and headed toward Crescent Moon Park nearby.
It was said that the Goddess of the Moon once descended upon Crescent Moon Park to hunt the monsters causing turmoil, and that night happened to have a crescent moon.
Thus, the park was also known as Crescent Moon Park.
A comfortable breeze, imbued with the bright sunlight, brushed across the lawn of the park, lifting the scent of the grass and trees as well-dressed people leisurely strolled by, with the occasional pet racing about on the grass.
"Miss, do you have something on your mind?" Norma, with her hands clasped in front of her abdomen, looked inquisitively at the elegant young lady sitting on the wooden bench—Miss Anastasia, a noblewoman who had suddenly approached her two days earlier, appointing her as a personal maid.
It was a very baffling situation; she was merely a country girl who came to the great city, Lionheart Castle, to become a bottom-tier worker at a dueling arena, simultaneously moonlighting by selling her body to make ends meet until one day she would age to a point where she couldn’t survive in the Royal City any longer.
A lesser being compelled to return to the countryside.
Yet, this elegant and beautiful Miss Anastasia chose her to become a personal maid and treated her particularly well.
She didn’t understand the situation at all.
However, being a maid for such a young noblewoman meant that she had finally settled down in the city without worrying about having to return to the country when she grew older.
Therefore, she was very grateful to Miss Anastasia.
"A friend has invited me to meet." Anastasia smiled elegantly, her eyes filled with anticipation, and as Norma saw this, her own lips twitched and she dropped her gaze, no longer inquiring. She suspected that the mistress she served was arranging a rendezvous with a lover.
Yet as a personal maid, she couldn’t counsel her.
After all, her employment was at the discretion of Anastasia, so she had no choice but to obediently comply, and if something went wrong, she’d have to find a way to cover it up.
If Miss Anastasia ended up with a child in her belly from a lover and then married into some unfortunate noble family’s young lord, Norma would not be surprised in the least.
Such occurrences were not exactly rare.
And at that moment, an unfamiliar man approached and sat down very familiarly beside Miss Anastasia.
"How should I address you?" asked Anastasia with an elegant and dignified smile, her skirt neatly arranged over her crossed legs, her beautiful eyes reflecting the man sitting beside her.
This man would one day kill her with his own hands, a fact she remembered quite clearly. However, for her, it was a cause for joy.
It meant that Ahtal cared about her; otherwise, he wouldn’t have come in person to bid her farewell before the end of the world and taken her life with his own hands.
Ordinary people were simply massacred en masse by Ahtal.
"Call me Xi Mu," said Xi Mu. If he were to identify himself as Ahtal now, it would quickly attract a lot of trouble. He still wanted to see what the humans of this era—or rather, the heroes of this era—could achieve.
He didn’t want to spread despair too soon.
Let the heroes of this era make ample preparations and start to give birth to hope before crushing it outright.
The despair that followed would be far deeper.
"Xi Mu," Anastasia murmured softly and, upon seeing Ahtal nod, she revealed a delighted smile.
Turning to Norma, she said:
"Norma, could you give me some personal time?"
"Yes," Norma curtseyed and then respectfully took her leave, not intending to go too far, just enough to be out of earshot.
She wanted to be able to respond quickly when Miss Anastasia called her.
"I didn’t expect you would choose her as a maid," Xi Mu glanced at the departing Norma. He certainly remembered Norma, who had once proposed a physical transaction with him, which he had declined.
Though he could engage in such a transaction now, he no longer had any interest in Norma.
If he were to take action, it would have to be with Hecate, his teacher.
"It was Lord Ahtal who brought Miss Norma to me," Anastasia said cheerfully. She clearly remembered the memories from the previous timeline, when Ahtal and Norma came out of the blue to rescue her, not only saving her from her stepfather’s violation but also personally taking care of her abusive stepfather.
Therefore, she herself had a good impression of Norma, and upon receiving memories of the future, she immediately recruited Norma to be her maid.
"She was merely a corpse carrier I had chosen at the time," Xi Mu shook his head lightly and then changed the subject.
"By the way, the person who caused your family’s downfall wasn’t your stepfather." He had initially deceived Anastasia into resolving to kill her stepfather by claiming that the man who ruined her family was her stepfather.
But in reality, the true criminal was someone else.
"Father, mother have already investigated who tried to harm us," Anastasia bit her lower lip, "I do not mind that Lord Ahtal deceived me. After all, it was you who helped me to survive, saving me from the assaults of my stepfather."
"The guy couldn’t help but lay his hands on you, so that’s understandable," Xi Mu observed Anastasia, who sat elegantly with a gentle smile, looking like a graceful noblewoman from any angle, yet paradoxically, her gender was male.
"Does Lord Ahtal still wonder about my gender?" Anastasia blinked and then laughed lightly behind her hand:
