Chapter 550: Chapter 218: The Meaning of Life Exhausted

The wind began to converge, and out of it emerged a man, his skin dark as coal. His bulging muscles seemed forged from compressed blocks of steel; his hair stood up like steel nails, and his entire being radiated a sense of immense power.

The God of War moved his wrists and revealed an intrigued smile, "Density Demon, I didn’t expect you to show up here."

The man as dark as coal was the legendary Density Demon, possessing the power to manipulate the density of objects. Even a simple roadside stone could unleash terrifying force under the influence of his power, making him a being capable of exerting extraordinary strength.

"Who asked you to kill our kin?" The Density Demon took a step back, standing beside the Delusional Demon with a smile, "Hope you weren’t too scared to stand up."

The Delusional Demon shook his head, then looked confused, "Why are you here?"

Logically, this attack on him was unexpected, and there was no reason for the Density Demon to appear just in time to save him.

But the Density Demon appeared, coincidentally none the less.

"To be more precise, why did we coincidentally appear." The Avatar Witch suddenly emerged out of nowhere, accompanied by a neatly dressed man with a thick beard, holding a book in one hand and wearing an extremely refined smile.

"Though I’m not particularly interested in protecting you." The void rippled with a twisted crimson, vaguely fluttering with several crystalline butterflies, emitting a scent of Chaos.

"But we can’t let the All Gods simply kill a demon."

The situation had changed.

The God of War’s smile grew more expectant, finding it a first to engage with so many demons and witches at once.

Even if he were to be killed here, it would be worth it.

And since these demons didn’t possess the power to kill him, he looked forward even more to the battle.

"The fact that you can intercept us shows that destiny has veered off course," he looked around, "Some other power has interfered with the course of destiny."

The prophecies of the Three Goddesses of Fate are usually not wrong, but they can become skewed by higher powers, such as the influence of Ragnarok making the predictions of the Three Goddesses of Fate ineffective, or perhaps the Witch of Death glancing at the Delusional Demon.

There were several possibilities, but the forces behind the scenes were not to be underestimated.

"Who knows about that," the Avatar Witch’s smile was beguiling, belying her inscrutable intentions.

Meanwhile, the Goddess of Plague, overhearing this, glanced subconsciously at Ahtal beside her, only to see the King of Ash smile and whisper in her ear.

"Yes, I was the one who leaked the information."

The Goddess of Plague calmly withdrew her gaze, then discreetly stepped on Ahtal’s foot, grinding it down harshly a few times afterward.

Yet, at the same time, she pondered why Ahtal would save the Delusional Demon. Ruling out the allure of the Delusional Demon’s beauty, it must be that Ahtal found the Delusional Demon’s ideology intriguing.

But such an ideology was of no help to salvation.

"Can we talk?" The Delusional Demon, still smiling gently, looked around at the gods present, bypassing the protective Density Demon:

"I won’t force anyone to indulge in delusions to find fulfillment in life, but you need to consider spreading my ideology."

The Goddess of Plague inquired, "What ideology do you want to spread?"

The God of War crossed his arms and stepped aside to wait, uninterested in discussing ideologies. In the end, this world was determined by power. The contradictions that arose now stemmed from the King of Ash’s overwhelming strength, plunging the world into pessimism, thus leading to a plethora of bizarre ideologies.

But all would be resolved if only they could defeat the King of Ash.

"Everyone should have a certain lifespan to fulfill their life’s meaning," the Delusional Demon revealed his thoughts, "But three years is too short; most people simply can’t accomplish their life’s purpose and thus accept their death peacefully."

"So you intend to let them die prematurely in delusions?" The Goddess of Plague frowned unconsciously, sensing the sophistry in the Delusional Demon’s words, but his argument was incredibly compelling, especially in the tragedy of Ragnarok.

"Death is not unacceptable, as long as one can fulfill their life’s meaning," the Delusional Demon maintained his smile, his voice gentle and steady, "Every person’s birth is meaningless to them, but throughout their lives, they imbue their existence with meaning and act for this meaning all their lives."

He stretched out his hands.

"The life’s meaning of countless people converges to become the weight of the world itself, but if everyone’s life purpose is fulfilled, then the collective meaning would vanish, and the weight of the world itself would become weightless."

"And thus, it wouldn’t matter if the world is reduced to ashes by the King of Ash."

No wonder the Three Goddesses of Fate intended to deal with you.

The Avatar Witch’s gaze turned subtle, looking at the hands extended and the godly smiling Delusional Demon, who in some ways was dissolving the collective meaning of the world, allowing everyone to achieve their life’s purpose in delusion.

And if everyone’s life purpose could be fulfilled, then death was not necessarily unacceptable. Compared to only living three years in reality, meeting one’s life’s purpose in delusion was indeed a relatively worthwhile deal.

"But there are those who want to live alongside their wives and children, right?" The Goddess of Plague raised her doubts.
