After work, start to speedrun the other world-Chapter 557 - 221: The Temperament Seems a Bit... Like a Housewife_2
"There wasn’t really anything urgent I needed from you," Fifine shook her head, realizing that Letixia was deliberately changing the subject.
Nevertheless, she continued.
"I was merely curious about your relationship with the King of Ash. Lately, the affairs between you and the King of Ash have been the hottest topic in the Iris Flower Kingdom," Fifine mentioned.
The news of the world’s end in three years was no longer a secret, except perhaps in the most remote areas where information was blocked, nearly everyone was aware of the apocalypse.
Naturally, this included the story of Letixia and the King of Ash.
If it weren’t for the protection of the Alchemical Witch in the Iris Flower Kingdom, people might have sought Letixia out for trouble.
It was known that the rise of the King of Ash was linked to Letixia.
The world is like this...boring. Many people blame the King of Ash for his timidity, yet they blame Letixia for her audacity.
But since the Iris Flower Kingdom now had the protection of the Alchemical Witch, no one dared to trouble Letixia right now.
Otherwise, they might have been promptly dealt with.
"Discussing my relationship with Ahtal now is pointless," Letixia chose to avoid the topic and instead asked Fifine:
"What are people saying about me and Ahtal?"
"It might upset you," Fifine scratched her cheek, and Letixia, upon hearing this, wasn’t surprised and could accept people’s opinions about her.
Because indeed, the emergence of the King of Ash was related to her, a reality she could never escape.
So she could only face it head-on and try to solve the problem.
"Let’s talk about something more cheerful," Fifine suddenly clapped her hands, addressing the curious Letixia, "Do you know the rumors about a Savior?"
Letixia appeared puzzled.
"This is news from the Dusk Cult, they say a Savior will be born in our times, possessing the power to transcend Ragnarok," Fifine’s eyes shone bright, "It is said that this Savior possesses greater talent than Ahtal, has the power to resist the Ash Fire, and is born to overcome Ragnarok."
"News from the Dusk Cult?" Letixia sensed something subtly off, as currently the Dusk Cult should be under the management of Ahtal... no, more accurately under the saintess of the Dusk Cult.
If there were indeed a Savior who could transcend Ragnarok, such news should not come from the Dusk Cult.
It should have been released by the church instead.
"I heard it was a follower of the Dusk Cult who was captured that leaked this intelligence," Fifine explained, "I’m not quite sure if this information is true."
Letixia gently shook her head: "If there really exists such a Savior, what that Savior faces..."
Fifine added, "...must be despair beyond imagination."
Anyone aware of the story of the future knows how bad the situation is now, even if so-called Savior is indeed born, what such a Savior would confront are beings capable of bringing down All Gods, turning the world into ashes, beings almost impossible to defeat.
And yet, the growth period is hardly three years.
"Actually, I think the news of the Savior’s existence is more about comforting people," Fifine voiced her inner thoughts, "This era is too despairing; people desperately need a lie to console themselves."
Letixia tilted her head back, her emerald eyes reflecting the stars. Her golden hair fluttered with the evening breeze. She instinctively denied the possibility of the Savior’s arrival. This wasn’t based on rational judgment, purely because she didn’t want Ahtal to be defeated, that’s why she instinctively dismissed the possibility.
But upon realizing this thought, she again felt a pang of guilt; having a real Savior might actually be better for the world.
Fifine seemed to sense her close friend’s turmoil and chose to bring up an unrelated topic. She later discovered that Letixia was aware of some secretive information that normal people shouldn’t know, such as the Alchemical Witch attempting to create an ark to sneak into a new world, and the Avatar Witch attempting to find a body capable of adapting to the Ash Fire, aiming to become the consort of the King of Ash and thus smuggling the whole world into this new realm.
These brilliant witches... had many ideas that felt highly plausible, giving a sense of hope for survival.
"Letixia, where did you learn so much secret information?" Fifine asked curiously, only to see Letixia shake her head slightly, her gaze drifting past her to the opposite side.
She turned her head to look, but saw no one there.
"Is there someone there?"
"There’s nothing." Letixia shook her head lightly, pulling her jade foot from the lake’s surface, then put on her shoes.
"It’s getting late, tomorrow early morning I need to go find the Alchemical Witch." With those words, she headed toward the nearby area.
Fifine watched Letixia’s retreating figure, feeling as if she was walking shoulder to shoulder with an unseen presence.
She withdrew her gaze and lazily stretched.
"Even a good sister has her own secrets, but there’s nothing I can do about it, being just a minor noble from the countryside."
In fact, during their conversation, Letixia hadn’t deliberately concealed too much information; putting a little thought to it would reveal much information, but since Letixia hadn’t laid it directly before her, it meant that much information was inappropriate to disclose, so naturally, she chose to keep her lips sealed.
Otherwise, it might cause unnecessary trouble.
And she disliked attracting unnecessary trouble; her only desire now was to hope that the witches and demons would work hard to find a way to save the world.
...
...
Meanwhile,
Elsewhere,
On a cobblestone path,
"Did you intentionally spread the news about the Savior?" Letixia asked the man beside her, her instincts telling her that the news about the Savior had been spread by Ahtal, otherwise the source wouldn’t have been the Dusk Cult.
Xi Mu nodded and said, "Yes, I had the saintess of the Dusk Cult spread the news."
Letixia looked puzzled; she didn’t quite understand why Ahtal would spread such a meaningless message. Was it perhaps to prevent the people of this world from despairing, thereby kindling hope to resist the King of Ash. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
"Do you know how gods are born?" Xi Mu asked this, then explained on his own, "With the progression of civilization, and the corresponding culture and beliefs, respective gods will manifest from the fringes of the world."
His gaze was unnervingly calm.
"Despair has been equally spread across the entire world; at such a time, a single lie is enough for everyone to believe that the Savior does exist, thus enabling the Savior to manifest from the global dimension."
After listening, Letixia quietly asked, "What significance does this hold for you?"
"The conditions for saving the world aren’t about defeating the King of Ash." Xi Mu calmly stated the condition to transcend Ragnarok, "Only the ability to create something from nothing can transcend Ragnarok; otherwise, one will inevitably be burned into ash by the King of Ash."
Letixia pondered for a moment and said, "You hope the emerging Savior possesses the capacity to create something from nothing?"
"As long as it’s certain the Savior has that capacity." Xi Mu’s voice was so calm it was almost devoid of emotion, "Then he will be the final puzzle piece of the new world, enabling the sealed world system to break free from the eternal cycle."
Letixia instinctively asked, "What if the Savior does not possess the ability to create something from nothing?"
"That wouldn’t matter." Xi Mu shook his head; he hadn’t pinned his hopes on the so-called Savior. If the Savior possessed the characteristics of a perpetual motion machine, then letting the Savior become the last puzzle piece of the new world was one way; if not, he would still think of a way to complete the third ritual, thereby reaching the height of being All-Powerful.
But if the Savior did possess the characteristics of a perpetual motion machine, he could instantly complete the new world’s puzzle, thus creating the world to reach the height of being All-Powerful.
