After work, start to speedrun the other world-Chapter 562 - 224: Shark Teeth are Very Sharp
At Lionheart Castle.
"Teacher, why is everyone looking at me?" Goddess of Salvation held a book in one hand and a skewer in the other.
She didn’t quite understand why all the gazes were on her, yesterday it was because she was still young... not even a day old, and she didn’t feel too much from the stares she attracted, but now that she was two days old, she noticed the oddity she hadn’t sensed the day before.
Xi Mu glanced at the Goddess of Salvation beside him. Her figure had matured relatively, but her temperament still contained a child-like innocence, creating a stark contrast that naturally drew people’s attention,
"Beautiful women naturally attract stares," he instructed her, "If someone unfamiliar tries to talk to you, be careful of their intentions, and if they dare to touch you inappropriately, thrust your sword at them."
The Goddess of Salvation nodded obediently, keeping the teacher’s words to heart.
"Mind your manners when eating," Xi Mu sighed, taking out a napkin from thin air, and the Goddess of Salvation, upon hearing his words, slightly lifted her chin, allowing the teacher to wipe the grease from her mouth, also slowing her actions with the skewer.
Xi Mu crumpled the napkin into a ball and tossed it into a nearby trash bin, then began to introduce Lionheart Castle to the Goddess of Salvation, "This city is known for its duels, those wishing to change their fate stake their lives in combat, winning brings glory and wealth, losing means going to Hell to await reincarnation."
He pointed towards a structure resembling the Roman Colosseum in the distance.
"Duels usually happen in the colosseum, I’ll take you there tomorrow. Today I want to take you to meet one of your kind."
The Goddess of Salvation blinked: "My kind?"
"Just like you, a goddess," Xi Mu explained, "But she’s more mature and sensible than you."
The Goddess of Salvation’s cheeks puffed out slightly, but her eyes revealed curiosity.
She had never met any of her own kind before. She knew there were other deities, but she hadn’t met any and wasn’t too interested in doing so. She just wanted to stay by her teacher’s side, learning the method of saving the world, while also accompanying him to eat various foods.
Meanwhile.
At the Lakefront Mansion.
"Can’t find the newborn deity?" Pestilence Witch sprawled on the couch, her waterfall of brown hair flowing out, her legs like white jade crossed and fidgeting restlessly.
She looked at the Goddess of Plague with anxious eyes and asked, "Could a demon or a witch have taken the newborn deity away?"
"We cannot rule out that possibility," the Goddess of Plague said with worry. In the past, whenever a deity was born, the God of Omniscience would guide us to them, and we never had to worry about newly born deities going missing. But now, the God of Omniscience has gone to fight the King of Ash at the end of time, and even following the guidance of the Three Goddesses of Fate, we could only find traces where the Goddess of Salvation had been, but no idea who she left with.
If she left with a witch, it might still be fine, but if a demon abducted her, then things would be very bad.
"There might be a goddess not aligned with the deities’ side," the Pestilence Witch said, her lips curling up, to which the Goddess of Plague cast her a glance and nonchalantly said,
"Are you talking about the Goddess of Lies?"
"What about the Goddess of Lies?" a puzzled male voice came through, causing both the Pestilence Witch and the Goddess of Plague to pause. They turned towards the source of the voice to see Ahtal walking over with a blond girl.
The blond girl clung timidly to Ahtal’s arm, her amber eyes filled with anxiety, as if unsettled by the unfamiliar surroundings.
The Goddess of Plague looked at this scene and let out a weary sigh, an ’I knew it’ expression on her face, "So you’re the one who took the newly born goddess."
Xi Mu chuckled lightly, "I just happened upon her and took the opportunity to teach her the method of saving the world."
"I don’t really understand what Teacher says," the Goddess of Salvation murmured softly, her attention these past two days captured by all the novel things, leaving her little mind to focus on saving the world or to delve into the method of doing so.
"You’ll gradually understand in time," Xi Mu said as he patted the Goddess of Salvation’s head, then pointed to the Goddess of Plague, "She is one of your kind and can be a model for you to learn and emulate."
While the strong in this world were often not entirely sane, the Goddess of Plague was undoubtedly one of the more normal ones, a suitable role model for the Goddess of Salvation to learn from.
The Goddess of Plague extended a warm smile and walked towards the Goddess of Salvation, who hid behind Ahtal like she was shy around strangers.
She stopped and displayed her gentle smile.
"Ahtal and I are friends, we won’t hurt you. Plus, we are your kind, you can try to trust me."
Hearing this, the Goddess of Salvation looked to her teacher for confirmation, and seeing him nod in agreement, she took the initiative to walk towards the Goddess of Plague.
Meanwhile, Xi Mu sat down next to the Pestilence Witch, observing her lazy form on the couch he said, "Don’t you even feel like moving a muscle?"
"What’s the point of moving if it doesn’t change the outcome?" the Pestilence Witch said languidly, but she dutifully sat up and poured a cup of tea for Ahtal.
Looking at the feeble Goddess of Salvation, she commented, "To be under your gaze, it’s hard to tell whether it’s a stroke of luck or a tragedy."
"You too are under my watch, is it fortune or tragedy?" Xi Mu laughed softly, his gaze resting on the Goddess of Salvation.
The Pestilence Witch rolled her eyes lightly; she was just a pawn of Ahtal, very different from the newly born goddess.
