After work, start to speedrun the other world-Chapter 57 - 34: The Plan
What’s going on with that guy?
The dwarf loli eyed the vanishing silver knight suspiciously, lifting her disproportionately large hammer to block the soldiers who intended to pursue him.
"It’s too late, you won’t catch him," she turned, looking at the soldiers who hesitated to speak, and grinned.
"You wouldn’t put your heart into catching him anyway," after saying that, she jumped and landed on the rooftop where Xi Mu had previously stood.
She surveyed her surroundings.
"Hmph, despicable fellow," she gritted her teeth and muttered, her body shook slightly, her pupils burnt with mad flames, and her body temperature soared instantaneously, distorting the air around her.
With this abnormal state, her previously shaking body stabilized, as if the poison she had inhaled was completely burned away by the flames.
...
...
Meanwhile.
Under the bridge.
"If you still don’t feel well, drink more," Letixia said, looking down at her pale-faced best friend, as she handed her another bottle of the antidote.
In response, the blue-haired girl rolled her eyes weakly as she leaned on Letixia’s shoulder, and said weakly, "This is quite an interesting rescue."
"..."
Letixia looked embarrassed, opened her mouth to explain, but then saw her best friend’s panicked, wary eyes.
She turned her head and smiled gently.
"Lord Ahtal, welcome back,"
Upon hearing this, the blue-haired girl relaxed a bit, then she sensed something amiss—why did her dear friend look at that silver knight with such a tender gaze that it felt heart-melting, just like she was looking at a loved one?
"Letixia, is he... your... lover?" Her question was hesitant, as if she was afraid to confirm it.
In fact, in her memory, Letixia was a very dual-natured person, quite stern and decisive in work and battle, yet more girlish and casual privately.
Adept at balancing life and work, she was almost flawless, except for being extremely slow to realize matters of the heart.
In the Iris Flower Kingdom, many admired Letixia, and she had suitors from foreign realms, but she showed no response.
It even led her to once wonder if Letixia didn’t like men at all.
"Let’s explain this after." Letixia turned her head, awkwardly shifting the topic, "Right now, the priority is to reclaim the Iris Flower Kingdom."
"Ah~ understood," the blue-haired girl elongated her response deliberately, showing a girlish and shy reaction, indicating she indeed had special feelings for the silver knight.
It was something anyone could notice, unless they were blind.
"Ahtal, did they follow us?" Letixia kept a serious expression, if it weren’t for her blushing cheeks, one might truly think she was only focused on her work, not shifting the topic.
Xi Mu didn’t mind, saying, "Don’t worry, they won’t be able to find us anytime soon."
"That’s good," Letixia breathed a sigh of relief, having no doubt about Ahtal’s abilities.
She helped her best friend to her feet and introduced her to Xi Mu.
"Fifine, she’s my good friend."
"Nice to meet you, Lord Ahtal," Fifine blinked her sapphire-like eyes, inspecting the silver knight before her, trying to understand what attracted Letixia to this man.
However, Xi Mu’s response was rather cold, merely nodding at Fifine and then pointing towards a distant alley.
"Let’s save greetings for when we reach a safe area."
"All right," Fifine wasn’t upset, enduring her discomfort, she left with Letixia’s support.
Staying in the Royal City was risky as patrol soldiers could find them any time; they had to escape the city to be safe.
...
...
Volcano.
Temple.
A red-haired dwarf looked at the altar inside the volcano mouth and couldn’t help scratching his head, saying, "The seal is too stubborn."
"If we can’t break the seal now, just take it back and do it slowly," an unconvinced voice came through, followed by heavy footsteps.
The red-haired dwarf turned to see his daughter approaching with two exaggeratedly large hammers; he shook his head, explaining.
"Only the royal family of the Iris Flower Kingdom can move the Sword of Light, and the news of the Sword’s theft will surely alarm the deities of the high heavens."
"What a hassle," the dwarf loli clucked her tongue, approaching the volcano’s edge, looking at the Sword of Light inside the volcano mouth.
Her father, seeing this, gently patted her head, "To buy time, go and kill the Iris Flower Kingdom’s eldest princess."
"Father, why don’t you go?" The dwarf loli slapped his hand off her head, knowing her father was very strong, having the power to alter his own celestial path.
This ability was formidable in any nation.
"I need to stay and maintain the ceremony at the temple," the red-haired dwarf explained helplessly, looking at the burning flames in the volcano mouth.
"Without me, the fire of Sulter cannot be invoked."
"Understood, I’ll kill them tomorrow," she nodded robustly, feeling very confident about her own strength.
At this, the red-haired dwarf shook his head: "It’s you all who need to handle them, not just you by yourself."
The dwarf loli’s eyes showed a hint of confusion, then as if realizing what he meant, she looked into the distance to see several familiar dwarves approaching.
She immediately understood what her father intended to do.
