Chapter 66: Chapter 38: The Sword Falls, The Head Rolls_2

Blood.

Scorching blood.

The stairs leading to the temple were inundated with scorching blood, flowing like lava, a sign of the impending volcanic eruption.

From Phili’s perspective, emerging from the volcano’s mouth was a fearless knight in silver armor, leading twelve summoned creatures, struggling to charge towards the crater amidst the siege of the woodcutters and dwarves.

This guy must be here to snatch the Sword of Light.

Phili had already guessed the situation, surmising that the brave knight in silver armor had initially intended to sneak into the temple to steal the Sword of Light but was caught unexpectedly and had to storm the temple by force.

"Quite an impressive fellow. Is it for the elder princess... Does she have some special charm, to have someone willing to storm the temple for her?"

He sighed, feeling a degree of admiration even for an enemy.

"Don’t worry, I will bury you together with the elder princess of the Iris Flower Kingdom." Saying this, he leaped fiercely, his feet as if fitted with springs, and reached the forefront of the battlefield in several bounds, casually picking up a handy hammer.

Then, he hurled it toward the silver-armored knight.

"Bang!" The greatsword, entwined with black flames, struck fiercely, deflecting the hammer, which crushed several of the woodcutters beside it.

Xi Mu’s gaze naturally fell on the dwarf ahead, seeing the dwarf pick up a hammer from the ground while dressed in black armor.

"My little sister got one of her arms chopped off by you." Phili said with a cordial smile, yet his pupils burned with madness, his body temperature soaring to an unbelievable degree in an instant, emitting scalding steam, like a piece of burning charcoal.

This was a skill close to self-harm, using the power of Sulter’s flame to set oneself alight like kindling, in exchange for a substantial boost in strength.

Xi Mu easily killed a soldier trying to sneak attack, his gaze questioning as he looked at Phili and asked, "Who?"

Phili’s expression turned cold, "The dwarf girl from the Iris Flower Kingdom whom you didn’t manage to kill."

"Ah... I remember now." Xi Mu realized, and the greatsword in his hand did not stop, killing the woodcutters who drew near, as scorching blood splattered continuously.

"If I’d known it was a girl, I would have killed her."

"Wouldn’t you have killed a child?" Phili smiled and walked towards Xi Mu, step by step, his pupils burning more intensely with madness.

And Xi Mu, no less formidable, walked over as well.

"I do not kill children shorter than a cartwheel." He joked, then brushed past Phili.

The twelve knights behind him had already drawn their weapons, launching a preemptive attack before Phili could make a move.

"You’ve grown taller than a cartwheel." He said in jest once more, then resumed his ruthless killing, advancing toward the summit of the Volcano Temple.

In fact, he was quite familiar with Phili, the ’little boss,’ who had the ability to leave scratches in the air that would wound on contact, making him a taxing foe to combat. In his early days, he had been tormented almost to the point of death.

Later, he discovered that using the twelve knights perfectly countered this ’little boss.’ With their combat skills, the knights could cleverly evade the invisible scars in the air and overwhelm Phili.

"Don’t think you can escape!" Phili attempted to pursue him, but a knight with a large shield blocked his path, and the other knights gathered around.

"Damn it, I’ll have to deal with you first!" Clenching his teeth in frustration, he grabbed at the air with his hand and swung the hammer at the approaching knights.

With his keen eyes, he could see that killing the silver-armored knight would break the summoning. Nevertheless, it was clear that the knight knew his own vulnerability and had no intention of engaging in combat, instead aiming to have his knights surround and kill him.

But soon he realized the terrifying nature of the summoned knights; they were like a group of elite fighters, intentionally suppressing their power to fight.

Even though their strength was nearly on par with the silver-armored knight’s, they exerted tremendous pressure.

"What kind of summoning magic is this!" Phili gritted his teeth, blocking a slice from a knight’s blade but unable to avoid a spear thrown from behind that pierced through his meteor-made armor.

"Flame Hammer!" Ignoring the injury piercing through his abdomen, he hammered the ground forcefully, and as the flames burst forth, the twelve knights tactfully retreated.

Yet, even as they drew back, the knights seized the opportunity to shoot arrows or grab nearby weapons to hurl at Phili.

They would not miss any chance to kill an enemy.

Minutes later.

Phili knelt on the ground with various weapons protruding from his body—arrows, broken blades, and spears. His meteor-made armor lay shattered, revealing his body covered in countless wounds.

He struggled unwillingly, looking at the approaching knights, he closed his eyes in despair and silently apologized in his heart.

"Sorry... Pali, I guess I really can’t beat that guy."

The knight’s sword swung down.

The head flew off, spurting hot blood, and upon seeing this, the besieging knights turned around indifferently to leave, hastening to catch up with Xi Mu.

Executing Phili was a collective order given by Xi Mu to the knights, otherwise, they would not have left Xi Mu on their own initiative; the highest priority was always to protect the summoner.

Unless the summoner issued a very clear directive command.

Meanwhile.

At the upper section of the Volcano Temple.

Xi Mu, with a dwarf soldier underfoot, drew the Hunting King’s Greatsword. Sensing something, he turned his head and looked at the knights rushing towards him.

The tough little boss had been dealt with.

"Don’t come any closer!" shouted the dwarf loli, holding a large hammer in one hand as she blocked the path of the knights in silver armor who were about to head to the altar.

Xi Mu withdrew his gaze, looking at the one-armed dwarf loli without immediately choosing to act, instead standing still and staring at her for a moment.

He then began to remove his armor, and to the dwarf loli’s astonishment, he stripped off all his armor and clothes.

What happened?

The dwarf loli stood still, staring at the naked man wielding a greatsword, lost in thought.

Soon her eyes filled with terror.

"Don’t come here!" She held the hammer in front of her chest, her eyes growing more terrified, fearing she might bear a half-human, half-dwarf child.

To this, Xi Mu’s gaze was cold. With a forceful push of his feet, he slashed at the massive hammer with his sword and kicked the dwarf loli’s abdomen, causing her to grimace in pain as he forcefully twisted her wrist.

Amidst her cries of pain, the tightly gripped hammer fell to the ground.

"Don’t come any closer, or I’ll die right here in front of you!" The dwarf loli backed away in terror, but the silver-armored knight was unmoved, simply kicking the hammer on the ground into the volcano’s magma.

"There are so many people here, are you insane!" She grew even more frightened, falling to the ground and shuffling backwards.

Even though she was prepared to face death, why was the silver-armored knight not following the script?

Why have such twisted thoughts at this moment?

Xi Mu glanced coldly at the dwarf loli. Although she was indeed very cute, it meant nothing to him; there were cuter lolis in the game.

The princess of the Dragon Kingdom was a white-haired, red-eyed little loli, not only very cute but her voice was incredibly sweet when she called out to someone.

She was better than Pali, that fake loli.

At that moment, the twelve knights had already caught up. Xi Mu handed his armor and weapons to several knights and instructed them to take them to a designated place.

Soon, when he pulled out the Sword of Light, his consciousness would have a brief contact with the Flame Giant Sulter, and at that time all of a player’s weapons, clothes, and contracts below "Witch" would be burned away.

Therefore, he could not wear clothes or carry equipment.

After ensuring the knights who took his equipment had run far away, he entered the altar with the few remaining knights.

They descended the stone steps along the edge of the fiery mouth.

The Sword of Light came into view; it was an oddly shaped sword with an overall dull yellow hue, reminiscent of the afterglow of a setting sun, with two spirals extending from the handle to where they met at the tip of the blade.

There was no sharp edge, and it seemed it could only be relied upon to stab someone to death.

"The weapon design later on really just focused on looking good," he shook his head and headed towards the Sword of Light.

Next, he was going to meet the Flame Giant Surter.
