After work, start to speedrun the other world-Chapter 82 - 6: Already Wanted to Burn the World_2
Jed nodded, not dwelling on the topic, and ushered Xi Mu and Martha into the living room before going to prepare tea.
"Three cups of tea?" Xi Mu spoke up, causing Jed to pause. She glanced at the sofa and saw Martha sitting opposite the boss, with no third person present.
"Understood, boss." She promptly agreed and placed three cups of tea on the table before returning to her own room.
Xi Mu picked up the teacup and took a sip, "Is there anything you want to ask?"
Martha did not speak immediately. She looked toward Hecate, who was savoring her tea, and fell into a brief silence. Had it not been for Xi Mu mentioning three cups of tea, she might not have noticed Hecate’s presence, despite being so close.
"You are a spy, aren’t you?" Hecate set down her teacup, smiled, and quietly said to Martha across from her:
"Considering you have not laid a hand on my apprentice, I’ll allow you to leave the hotel alive."
"It seems I can’t leave the hotel as I please anymore." Martha stood up and bid farewell to Xi Mu.
"Lord Ahtal, see you tonight." She waved her hand, then rented a room to avoid staying too long with Hecate, the Witch.
Seeing this, Xi Mu asked, "Teacher, are you just going to let her go like that?"
"Apprentice, it’s just like you can believe in the goddess and the Witch simultaneously." Hecate chuckled, "Cultists can also cooperate with the church."
She took a sip of her tea.
"Martha is both a spy and the church’s contact."
"That’s really unexpected." Xi Mu seemed astonished, but then quickly calmed down, accepting that Martha was both a spy and an intermediary.
Hecate was pleased with this.
"I’m glad you can accept this fact quickly."
"At least she isn’t believed in the goddess and the Witch at the same time." Xi Mu said with a smile.
In the first cycle, he would still struggle with choosing game factions, whether to choose the Witch or the goddess.
But as he gained strength later in the game and could easily suppress both the goddess and the Witch, he no longer thought about choosing factions.
Instead, he chose to have them all.
"Remember to keep this spirit of daring to try and explore." Hecate chuckled softly, pulling out a stack of books.
"I don’t have much time to teach you tonight, so let’s have a lesson in advance."
Xi Mu: "..."
He decided to treat it as a bedtime story taught by Teacher Hecate, adjusting his mood as her gentle lecture voice drifted into his ears.
Then he reclined on the sofa.
Hecate gently placed the books in her hand down, looking down at her apprentice resting on her knees, reaching to pat his head.
Indeed, she had long discovered that her apprentice harbored many secrets, but she had not intended to pry. After all, the time she knew her apprentice wasn’t long enough for him to fully lower his guard, and she wasn’t one... bent on uncovering other people’s secrets.
Maintaining a moderate distance might foster better feelings.
At that moment,
Yasiraqi came back. She glanced at the sofa, only to see Xi Mu’s head resting on an invisible presence. Combined with the three cups of tea on the table, she immediately analyzed who the unseen presence was.
"Quiet~" Hecate’s figure emerged, softly speaking to Yasiraqi, seemingly not wishing for Yasiraqi to disturb her apprentice’s rest.
Seeing this, Yasiraqi smiled and returned to her bedroom, realizing that finding an opportunity to talk with Hecate was not an easy task.
Clearly in sight yet without a chance to chat.
As night fell,
Xi Mu opened his eyes, then turned around, his gaze landing on Hecate above, who was holding a book intently reading.
"The appointed time is almost here." Hecate closed the book, and with a flash of light, the book vanished in place.
She looked down, eyes meeting her apprentice’s.
"There’s not much time left to stay in bed, apprentice."
"Understood." Xi Mu rose, finished the cold tea on the table, and the moment he set down the teacup, the scenery changed instantly.
The night breeze swept through, invigorating the spirit.
"Hehehe... everyone is gathered." Cecilia, the old lady, emitted an unpleasant laugh, eyeing the figures of Xi Mu and Hecate as they appeared.
"Shall we start discussing the collaboration then?"
"In three days, the invasion will be complete," Hecate stated succinctly, obviously having made up her mind, "You only need to eliminate everyone approaching the Great Library."
Old Lady Cecilia nodded, "That’s possible."
"Doesn’t matter." Killer Jack waved his hand, completely uninterested in the specifics of the plan; for him, as long as he could kill, it was enough.
"Then I guess I don’t care either." The Bloody Countess smiled seductively, not much concerned with her own plans.
However, Martha did ask, her voice sounding very serious, "So, we just need to stop anyone from getting close?"
"Yes," Hecate nodded. She only needed a very brief moment to completely control the life and death of the Magic Queen, even if it was just for a few seconds. As long as she could create such an environment, she could complete the ritual of turning into a witch.
And at that moment, Alistair, who had been playing with Tarot cards, suddenly drew one.
"This journey will go smoothly."
"Are we done talking already?" Martha asked in surprise, as she had intended to discuss the specifics of the invasion plan.
To this, Hecate explained.
"In three days I’ll take you into the palace, just block the four doors leading to the Great Library."
...
...
Two days later.
Nighttime.
Outside the blacksmith’s shop.
"How about it, my craftsmanship?" The dwarf master laughed, very confident in his skills. He had not only perfectly upgraded the Red Dragon Blood Armor but had also crafted a golden needle.
Xi Mu felt the Red Dragon Blood Armor on the table, then shifted his gaze to the golden needle, just one was enough to temporarily suppress the fire of Sulter.
He examined the golden needle and nodded:
"No problem."
The dwarf master chuckled, "This is what you call value for money."
Xi Mu, on the other hand, said nothing more, began to wear the Red Dragon Blood Armor, moved his body around, and then took out Yasiraqi’s credit card.
After paying, he left abruptly.
He then went to a secluded commercial street, picked up a Sleeping Pot made by Laila, and also bought a large amount of Magic Potion.
After preparing thoroughly.
Xi Mu then ran to the slums, like a ghost, he dealt with the assassins who came to kill him, harvesting the experience points accumulated over the past two days.
This time, the quality of the assassins had clearly increased greatly; all were affected by the fire of Sulter and turned into firewood.
"The approach is correct."
Xi Mu withdrew his knife, looking down at the corpses of the dwarves, his icy gaze devoid of any emotion. These dwarves... wanting to use this suicidal method to continuously stimulate the fire of Sulter within him, thereby causing him to go insane, turning into a madman who wanted to burn the world.
However, unfortunately for them, he was not infected and would not go into a frenzy.
Fortunately for him, he indeed wanted to take the Ashen Path, burning everything in this world to ashes. Their continuous delivery of experience packages indeed supported the destruction of the world.
In some sense, they died with value.
[Host, host...do you want to hear some good news?] The system’s voice suddenly transmitted, causing Xi Mu to frown.
He squatted down, caressing the dwarf’s corpse.
Black flames rose, and the corpse turned into ashes.
[Once Hecate becomes a witch, just a little more effort from you, the host, and you might have a chance at conquering the first witch!]
"And then?" Xi Mu retorted, "What benefit does that have for me, can it help me rush through the game?"
The system paused: [Aren’t you moved by Hecate?]
From its perspective, a person like Hecate should be very attractive to the host.
Xi Mu explained, "I’ve had that experience, not much interest now."
