Chapter 62: Protecting The In-laws.

**Razor**

"What the fuck happened here?" I exclaimed, getting out of the car to inspect the road.

Dead bodies littered the area, all belonging to my pack—men I had sent out to protect the Red-Water Pack.

"I think this was done by Damon Rollins’ new creation, boss," Chris remarked, bending down to examine a bite mark on one of our fallen pack warriors.

I knelt beside him, examining the wounds. The claws and teeth marks were sharp, indicating a brutal attack. I felt a surge of anger and frustration; I should have been with my wife, not here dealing with Damon’s foolish creations. But I couldn’t ignore the distress call from Nathan earlier.

"Come on, let’s go. We need to make sure Nathan and his wife are okay."

We quickly got back into the car and raced to Isabella’s parents’ home. Upon arrival, Dean approached, kneeling to greet me.

"Welcome, boss."

"Are they doing alright?"

"Yes, sir. They’re a bit shaken after the attack, but they’re fine."

"Let’s go inside," I said, motioning towards the entrance.

Earlier, after receiving Nathan’s call, I had sent Dean ahead to ensure their safety.

As I stepped inside the house, I saw Nathan and his wife sitting on the couch, looking visibly shaken but otherwise unharmed. Relief flooded through me at the sight of them safe and sound.

"Nathan, are you both alright?" I asked, inspecting the living room. It was scattered, and disarranged due to the attack.

Nathan nodded, his expression grim. "We’re okay, just a bit shaken up. Those things... they were unlike anything we’ve ever seen before."

I sat down opposite them, eager to hear more about their ordeal. "Tell me everything. What were these enhanced werewolves like? How did they attack?"

His wife shuddered, recalling the terrifying experience. "They were fast, incredibly strong. Their claws... they tore through everything. We barely managed to escape."

Nathan picked up where she left off. "They seemed to be working with a purpose, not just mindless beasts. It was like they wanted to kidnap us. They would have succeeded if Dean and some of your men hadn’t arrived in time to stop them."

I frowned, troubled by their account. Damon Rollins had always been a bastard, but he was definitely getting on my damn nerves. First, he attacked my wife, and now her parents? I needed to come up with a plan, and fast.

"We need to be prepared for anything. That bastard is not playing around anymore," I ground my teeth firmly. "We’ll need to bolster our defenses, gather intel on these creatures, and find a way to stop them."

"Thank you, Alpha Razor. If it weren’t for you, we could have been dead," Isabella’s mom said. I noticed her fingers slightly trembling. She looked even more frail and weak than the last time I saw her.

"It’s alright. You’re my in-laws, after all," I replied, nodding at her before furrowing my brows slightly. "Are you alright though? You look a bit exhausted."

"It’s the heart disease," Nathan chimed in, exhaling sharply. "We’ve been going to the doctor for treatment, but it’s not looking good."

My heart sank at the news; Isabella would be devastated if anything happened to her mom. And the thought of her being in pain from losing her mom was unbearable.

"But don’t worry, the doctor and his team are doing everything possible to save my wife," Nathan reassured, reaching for her hand, squeezing it

"We’ll figure something out," I said. "We’ll get you the best treatment available. You’re not alone in this."

Isabella’s mom smiled weakly. "Thank you, Alpha Razor. We’re lucky to have you."

"What about my daughter? How is she doing?" Isabella’s mom asked, worried lines etched across her face.

"She’s doing great. I didn’t tell her I was coming here though, I didn’t want to bother her," I replied, offering her a reassuring smile.

My little wife was still exhausted from her punishment and was sleeping soundly; I didn’t want to disturb her at all.

"I’m glad you didn’t tell her, Alpha Razor. I don’t want her to be worried. Please, promise me you’ll tell her I’m doing good when you get back," Isabella’s mom pleaded, her brows raised hopefully.

"You can rest assured," I nodded, getting up on my feet. "I have to take my leave now. I’ll tell my men to keep an eye on here in case those bastards come back."

"Thank you for helping us, Alpha Razor. We’re grateful," Nathan said, standing up and shaking my hand.

After bidding farewell to them, I stepped outside where Dean and Chris were waiting for me.

I beckoned for Dean to come forward. "Did you take a look at those damn creatures’ properly?" I growled at him.

"Yes, sir... they were three in number, very strong and fast. We weren’t able to kill them before they ran off. I asked the men to go after them, but they are yet to return," Dean explained nervously, clearly fearing my reaction.

"There’s no need. They’re not coming back. We saw their damn bodies on the roadside. Call the men and tell them to come collect the bodies," I said, my voice cold as I got into the car.

The anger and frustration boiled inside me. Damon Rollins had crossed a line, attacking my in-laws and killing my men. I swear the day I finally got my hands on him, I’ll torture him until he’s begging for death.

As I finally arrived at the pack house, my anger still bubbled beneath the surface. But the moment I entered the penthouse and saw my beautiful wife, everything else faded away. Her cheeks were flushed, her eyes puffy from crying. She looked so innocent and vulnerable, and I couldn’t help but feel a pang of guilt. I was the one who had punished her, after all.

She approached me quickly, averting her eyes. "Welcome sir. Are...are they okay?" she inquired, her voice shaking with anxiety.

"Yes, they’re fine. My men are protecting them. You don’t need to worry." I told her.

A smile of relief spread across her face, and my heart swelled with adoration.

She looked so lovely, her blue eyes crinkling as she smiled shyly. Without hesitation, I drew her close to me, lifting her up effortlessly. Her legs immediately wrapped around my waist, and I carried her to our bedroom.

Laying her down gently on the bed, I hovered over her, brushing a strand of hair away from her lovely face. "I missed you so much my love," I whispered, kissing her forehead softly. "I didn’t mean to hurt you."
