Alpha Razor King-Chapter 75: A Pup.
**Isabella**
"Here you go, madam," the cashier smiled, handing me the receipt. I thanked her and carried my groceries, walking down the road. I felt a bit anxious, as if someone was following me, though I wasn’t sure. To be on the safe side, I hastened my pace, wanting nothing more than to be inside my apartment.
On arriving at the townhouse, I made my way up the stairs. The house was old, located deep in the outskirts of Linkin Town, Kansas, far away from Upperville.
Stopping in front of my door, I took out the key from my pocket and unlocked it. Inside, I shut the door and locked it, taking a deep breath.
My apartment was still in disarray; I hadn’t had time to arrange it before running down the street to grab some supplies. I placed the grocery bag on the table and quickly checked on my sweet pup, who was sleeping soundly.
I decided to wait until he woke up to feed him. Returning to the small living room, I started vacuuming the floor but froze when I heard a knock at the door. I didn’t reply, instead grabbing a mop stick and standing near the door. The person knocked again.
"Who’s that?" I asked hesitantly, paranoia creeping into my tone.
"It’s me, Chris," came the reply.
I sighed before opening the door.
"Chris, you scared me," I sighed, slouching into the chair nearby.
"Is everything okay? Did anyone bother you or the baby?" Chris asked, clenching his fist.
"No, no, it’s fine," I forced a smile, not wanting to burden him. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
"I’m just a few streets down if you need any help," he offered.
"I know," I smiled gratefully.
Chris had been there for me this past year. He had overheard Tara plotting with some people to kidnap me when I arrived at the hospital. He rushed there to save me, but Damon’s men got to me first. Chris followed me but couldn’t go in because he would have been outnumbered. He was about to break into the club’s secret passage when he met me, and we escaped to Linkin Town. Crazy, right?
"Are you sure you don’t want to go back to Upperville, Luna?" Chris asked, leaning against the door.
I stood up, picking up the vacuum cleaner. "Chris, we’ve already been through this. I can’t... Razor will not be happy to see me. I left him, remember?"
"But you have his pup, and I swear he’ll never forgive you if you continue keeping his child away from him."
"I can’t... I’m too scared, Chris. He’ll kill me. I mean, look at you. You’ve been on the run ever since."
Chris nodded, folding his arms. "It was all my fault... I betrayed my alpha."
"It’s not your fault," I said, replacing the cleaner. "You just fell in love with the wrong woman."
"Yes, the one who made me betray my alpha," he said bitterly.
"Did you fuck her while she was Razor’s mate?"
His eyes widened in horror. "Of course not, I wouldn’t dare... But I lusted over her, and we kissed."
"Well, Razor’s not going to like that either," I confessed.
"Just think about it, okay?" Chris said after a few seconds of silence. "He deserves to know his son." He nodded at me before opening the door. "Remember to call me if you have any trouble."
"Thank you, Chris," I smiled tiredly, watching as he exited the room.
I was about to relax in the chair when my pup began to cry. I hurried over to the room, carrying him before sitting on the bed. I took his milk from the headboard and fed it to him gently. He was so beautiful, his mesmerizing green eyes reminded me of Razor so much, as did his black fluffy hair.
Was Chris right? I sighed, cradling him softly in my arms. Would Razor hate me even more if he finds out I hid his son from him?
I didn’t even know I was pregnant then. It was after I had settled into the apartment that I realized I was three weeks along.
It wasn’t an easy decision. Part of me wanted to stay and remain with my husband, but I was too scared—scared of always getting into trouble and being punished. But I would be a liar to say I don’t miss Razor. I missed his masterful hands all over my body, the way he made love to me, and even the way he looked at me as though he worshiped me. But I was tired of being controlled by my husband.
As for Ian, he never came around as he promised... and this was the apartment he asked me to run to. I just hope he made it alive.
My pup was fast asleep, so I placed him gently on the bed and went straight to the bedroom to take a shower. After my shower, I put on some comfortable sweats and went to the kitchen to prepare some dinner for myself when I suddenly heard a knock on the door.
"Did Chris come back or something?" I wondered aloud.
As I walked to the door, I paused, noticing heavy breathing and a distinct scent. Since giving birth to my pup, my senses had been heightened. The feeling of dread grew as the banging on the door intensified.
Confused and scared, I hurried to the kitchen and grabbed a knife, anticipating the worst.
I held the knife tightly, trying to steady my breathing as the banging on the door grew louder. My mind raced, wondering who could be at the door at this hour. I peeked through the peephole, but the sight on the other side sent a wave of fear through me.
Fuck! My mind raced with possibilities. They were definitely werewolves but were they Razor’s men, or was it someone else? I had to stay calm, for my pup’s sake.
I backed away from the door, my hands trembling. They were here for me, I was sure of it. I had managed to escape once, but now they had found me. I had to think fast.
Without wasting a moment, I grabbed my phone and dialed Chris’s number. It rang once, twice, and then went to voicemail. I cursed under my breath, knowing that I was on my own.
The banging on the door continued, growing more aggressive. As they succeeded in breaking the door, they came rushing in.
I’ll fucking die before I let anything happen to my pup.
They launched at me, but my knife found its mark, piercing through flesh and into their hearts. Just when I thought I had the upper hand, one of them grabbed me from behind, his grip tightening around my neck.
I gasped for air, feeling the world blur around me. I kicked and thrashed, trying to break free, but his hold was strong. Then, suddenly, the pressure on my neck vanished, and I stumbled forward, turning to see Chris standing over the fallen werewolf, his neck twisted at an unnatural angle.
Relief flooded through me as I watched Chris swiftly dispatch the remaining two bastards swiftly.
As the last werewolf fell, lifeless, to the ground, Chris turned to me, concerned. "Are you okay?" he asked, stepping closer.
I nodded, still trying to catch my breath. "I think so... Thank you, Chris. You saved us."
He gave me a reassuring smile, placing a hand on my shoulder. "You did well too. You’re stronger than you think."
I took a deep breath. "Thanks to my training back in Upperville."
"But we have to go now!" he exclaimed, picking the bloody knife from the floor. "They’re coming for you."
*Who are they... are they Razor’s men?"
"No, I don’t think so. I was about to head home when I saw them hanging around your apartment. I managed to fight them off, but I couldn’t stop all of them. I interrogated one of them, and they told me Beta Tom sent them."
"Beta Tom?" I asked, not quite grasping this at all.
"Yes, he’s the new alpha of the Bloody Skull pack."
My legs shook slightly; it felt like a big joke. How’s that possible? What about Razor?
"I don’t know. I couldn’t find out more before the bastard killed himself. But he no longer stays at the pack house," Chris explained, looking utterly devastated.
"Where is he then?"
"Probably in one of his mansions in Upperville."
"How the hell did this happen?" My lips were slightly open in disbelief.
"I don’t know, but we have to leave right now. Beta Tom knows you have a pup... I guess he’s trying to kill the alpha’s heir."
I hurriedly went into the room and grabbed my sweet pup, holding a small bag in the other. "Where are we going?"
"We have no other choice but to go to the boss. He won’t forgive us if anything happens to his pup."
I swallowed, nodding my head. Chris was right; he was the only one who could protect our pup right now... but still, the thought of seeing him after a year scared the crap out of me.
