Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 249-He Tells Me The Truth
Iris:
"Iris, come outside. I need to speak with you," he sent me a voice note again.
I adjusted my sweater because it was cold outside.
It was early morning. The sun had not risen yet.
The darkness still lingered. I tucked my kids in properly before opening the door and stepping out of the room.
Kash was not in the living room. I heard Lara was still in the hospital.
I wondered if she was alright. I remembered Kash was about to reject her before she passed out.
Or maybe she pretended. I could not expect anything less from her.
When I reached the main gate, I noticed it was open.
Kash was definitely in the garden, waiting for me like he said.
I stepped into the cold air and looked up at the dark clouds filling the sky.
Thunder rumbled.
A strong wind swept through the garden.
He was pacing in a casual black suit, as if he had not changed all night.
Or maybe he had just woken up early.
"What is it?" I called from a distance, rubbing my hands together.
He stopped pacing and slid his hands into his pockets, staring at me from afar.
"You said you wanted to speak with me," I added, taking a few steps toward him.
He stood near the bench in the garden.
"And Kash, can you please tell me what this is about? I need to go pack," I pressed, turning my face to the side.
When he did not answer, impatience crept in, and I walked closer.
That was when I saw him shift slightly. He adjusted his coat and sat on the bench.
I approached but remained standing for a moment.
"That’s it?" I demanded again.
He silently tapped the empty spot beside him.
The silence lingered between us.
Finally, I lowered myself onto the bench next to him.
"And now you can tell me," I insisted tiredly, begging for a break.
"You said you were packing. Packing for what?" He brought up my earlier comment.
"I’m leaving, Kash!" I shot back.
I noticed his body twitch a little, but he kept his calm.
His long legs stretched out. His breath stayed steady.
I did not want to be judgmental, but he seemed at peace, like he had finally achieved something he had been waiting for.
"Did you drink the pineapple juice from yesterday?" he asked in a soft and calm voice.
There was no judgment, no taunting, no anger in it.
"Kash, did you hear what I said? I said I’m moving out," I snapped, turning on the bench to get his full attention.
He remained seated, arms spread, looking ahead.
Then he nodded. A little pout formed on his lips.
"Did you drink it, though?" he pressed.
"Kids were really hoping you would drink it," he went on, focusing on the drink.
"Did you put something in it?" I demanded.
As soon as I asked, he finally turned his head toward me.
"Is that why I fell asleep?" I added, staring at him in disapproval and disbelief.
The cold wind clogged my nose. My cheeks were probably red too.
"I don’t understand why you’re doing all these things. What purpose did you have in putting me to sleep? Did you think that if you put me to sleep, I wouldn’t be able to leave? If so, how many times did you think you could do it before you grew tired? And one day, I slip through your fist," I questioned him, my voice serious, hoping for a reasonable response this time instead of that calm expression.
"You drank it," he murmured, smiling to himself as he watched me roll my eyes.
"Yeah, I finished it. That’s why I dozed off," I replied, my tone a little harsh as I realized he had indeed put something in it.
I really did not like hearing that.
"I actually wanted to tell you why I chose Lara over you," he continued. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
It was strange that he returned to a topic I thought we had already closed.
"Kash, it’s in the past. You gave me your answer, and it was not satisfying enough," I told him.
My voice came out shaky because I was holding back a taunting laugh.
"A few years ago, you suddenly passed out next to the car across the road where I was standing," he began to reminisce.
I did not stop him. I wanted him to let it out before I left.
I wanted him to have his peace too, so we could stop this back and forth.
"Yeah, I guess that’s true. I was stressed about things," I admitted.
Instead of shutting him down, I answered.
He raised his eyebrow and smiled at me. I quickly looked away because I did not feel like returning it.
It was not easy for me to make this decision. He meant the world to me.
Leaving him came from a deep level of stress.
I felt like I had no other option.
"Well, that day, I grew very worried for you. And then you started passing out more and more," he continued.
He did not stray from the topic of my health.
The way he brought it up made me anxious.
"Then I found out nothing was wrong in your tests, just like nothing was wrong with Colin," he added.
His sudden pause made my hands stretch out and rest on my knees.
My eyes narrowed at the ground as a memory hit me.
Why was he talking about my health and my fainting in a way that linked it to Colin’s sickness?
It was not too surprising. I was sick now.
I knew that. I was showing symptoms of what had happened to my brother.
But why would he connect my earlier health issues to that?
"Are you putting it together, or should I continue?" Kash asked me.
My head snapped toward him.
He tilted his head and gave me a gentle smile, confusing me even more.
From the way he spoke, I could tell he knew about my sickness.
So I straightened my posture, letting him know through my gestures that I wanted him to continue.
