Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 309-I Am The Only Queen Now
Lara:
"Tell me, Kash, did she die?" I insisted again.
Fifty-six lashes to an omega like her.
Even when Kash said she was a powerful wolf, I did not believe it.
Besides, before the lashing, they would give her wolfsbane, which meant she was too weak to defend herself.
Even if she did not die, she would be in pretty bad shape, and her ego must be completely crushed.
The way Kash did not even care as he kicked the blood-soaked belt away with his foot made me realize the plan had worked perfectly.
I knew he would never tolerate a cheater because of what he had done to me.
When I cheated on him, he grew so angry that it took him a long time to forgive me.
And he never truly forgave me.
He only kept me because I had a child with him.
The only reason he was so sweet to me now was because that bitch had cheated on him in the worst way, after everything he had done for her.
And because she had also scarred Zoey and Markus’s relationship.
"I do not care if she lives or dies. Anyway, you should rest. It is not healthy for you to stay awake," he replied casually.
He slid his bloody hand into his pocket, and with the other, as he walked past me, he gently caressed my cheek without looking at me.
That affection, right after he had brutally punished Iris, felt like my greatest victory.
Finally, I had everything I wanted.
Even if Iris survived, she would never accept him again.
Now I had to move toward my next targets because I did not want to spend my entire pregnancy dealing with these ugly faces around me.
Although I expected Kash to ask why I was awake, acknowledge how sweet I was, he did not, and I understood why.
He had just beaten the love of his life.
There was something else I had been noticing lately.
Iris had been very sick.
When she was found with Markus, I expected her to give us some strange news, something that would halt the rejection process.
Or maybe I was thinking too much into it.
But I was afraid she might be pregnant. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
If she were, she would have used it to stay here, to remain close to her children.
Then I began to wonder what if she was pregnant and did not know.
I shrugged and walked upstairs, realizing that even if she was pregnant, those lashes across her back and under her feet meant there was no way the baby survived.
I just needed to make sure Kash did not visit her and find out if she had miscarried, because I did not want him to feel sympathy for her.
Then fear struck me.
What if he realized we had planned everything and that, because of it, he lost the baby due to his own brutality?
He would kill us.
He would kill us all without thinking twice.
So these secrets needed to remain buried.
The next morning, I woke up happy. I put on a red dress.
As I walked downstairs, I heard Kash with his children.
"Your mother is never coming back, okay? But your father should be enough for you," Kash said bluntly.
I hurried down to see what was happening and found the children trembling, tears in their eyes.
"Your mother is out for work. She’ll come back, okay, but in a few years. In the meantime, she’ll send you letters, okay?" Lady Vivian explained, taking control of the situation.
If the children started crying openly, they would cry for hours, and it would give me a headache.
The children looked at their father. They seemed upset that he had said those words. Then they moved closer to Lady Vivian.
"Kash, behave," Lady Vivian muttered, facing him.
He looked disturbed, and it seemed unfair to him that they expected him to use kind words for Iris.
As soon as I stepped into view, the atmosphere shifted. Everyone turned to look at me.
"Good morning," I greeted, smiling.
"Good morning, little kids," I added, running my hand through Colin’s hair.
He instantly pulled away from me. I noticed, but I did not push.
He had pulled a chair out for me and silently gestured for me to sit close to him. I moved forward and sat beside Kash.
Once seated, I felt all eyes on me.
Markus looked annoyed. Of course, I knew his secrets.
Zoe watched me with empathy and apology in her eyes for ever siding with Iris.
Then there was Lady Vivian. She looked pleased.
The children did not.
"From now on, I expect everyone to remember that Lara and the pregnancy are our priority. Please, do not talk about anything that might worry her," Kash announced.
My eyes widened at his sudden show of affection.
It was not sudden. It had been growing over the past few weeks. Iris’s removal had given him the freedom to speak about me openly and express his love.
I knew that his love was partly fueled by his anger toward Iris, but I would not disappoint him.
I’ll fix things between us. This time, I will not make a mistake.
The rest of breakfast passed in silence.
Zoe did not interact much with Amy and Colin like she used to. Instead, Lady Vivian took care of them.
Most of Zoe’s attention remained on her mate, who sat too quietly, acting like a victim.
I wanted to laugh at him, but it would draw attention.
Once everyone had finished breakfast, they began to leave.
Zoe and Markus were still in the phase of healing together, so they walked out to sit in the garden. Kash took the children away to apologize for his earlier outburst.
I was left alone with Lady Vivian.
While the maids cleared the dishes, I smiled at her.
"He beat her last night. He lashed her, rejected her, and signed the divorce papers," I told her, watching her eyes widen.
"Oh, I mean, what Iris did to Markus, that was horrible. I just hope she survived," she sighed before smiling to me for taking over Iris’s place.
Little did she know, she was my new target.
Whatever happiness she felt, this would be the last time she smiled like that.
