Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 322-The Queen Of Water Is In Love With My Mate
Iris:
My vision began to blur completely, and soon I could no longer see her features, only faint shimmers where her hair floated. My hands drifted uselessly as my body started to go numb.
Then the dagger in her shoulder sparkled, and I lunged for it. My hand closed around the handle, and I pulled it out of her.
She let out a scream, and bubbles escaped her mouth more rapidly now. My sight cleared, and I could see her face again.
The green liquid from her shoulder spread into the water around her. I drove the dagger into her chest, but it went only a little deep because the water resisted the force.
I kicked her in the stomach and forced myself upward while she struggled to pull the dagger from her chest. I broke through the surface, coughing and dragging air into my lungs.
My hand wiped across my face as I continued to cough. I was breathing.
I blinked rapidly, trying to see above the surface. I knew she was not dead.
She would come after me again. And she did.
She surfaced slowly this time. Her expression had changed.
The anger was still there, but now there was a realization that it would not be easy to kill me.
"You’re not weak like I thought," she uttered quietly, disappointment heavy in her voice.
"But you don’t have a wolf. What are you?" she demanded.
She clenched her fingers tightly around the dagger’s handle. At that moment, fear gripped me.
She should not have the dagger.
She tilted her head as if studying me. Then her eyes dropped to my stomach, and my body stiffened.
A loud gasp escaped her lips before her eyes snapped back to mine.
"You’re pregnant," she whispered in a broken, shaky voice.
She sounded more shaken by my pregnancy than Lara ever would have been.
"No, this can’t be," she whispered, her lips curling.
"You cannot be pregnant. Kash cannot be yours."
Anger bubbled through me as she spoke.
So that was what this had been about. She was in love with my mate?
She raised the dagger to show me, and I stepped back in the water, fear clear in my eyes.
"This was supposed to be me," she muttered, her eyes narrowing as green tears formed in them.
Then she placed her hand on her belly.
"It is so empty. I was supposed to have a child in me," she mumbled to herself, her gaze drifting as if she were lost.
She looked up at me and pointed the dagger in my direction.
"I was supposed to have Kasia’s baby. He was supposed to be mine. You stole him from me," she screamed.
As she did, the water began to churn violently, making it hard for me to keep my balance.
It was obvious she was the queen of the water, and I was in her territory.
As she thrashed, the current shifted around me. It no longer moved naturally. It followed her command, responding to her anger.
She turned her head slightly before striking.
"Luca," she called softly.
Chills ran down my spine. The sound did not travel through the air. It vibrated through the water.
I stiffened when I heard the slow movement of someone entering the river behind me.
I turned quickly and saw Luca step into the water, his movements stiff, his eyes distant.
He did not look like the Luca I knew. He looked like someone she had hypnotized.
His jaw was clenched, his breathing was shallow, his fists were tight at his sides. The veins in his temples pulsed, as if he were fighting something inside him.
"No," I whispered, shaking my head and positioning myself so I could see both of them.
"Even without your lycan, even while pregnant, you’re still so strong," Eira commented.
"I want to see how strong you are when it is him hurting you. When your friend is the one causing your pain," she whispered, a creepy grin on her lips.
"Luca, fight it. You cannot do this," I pleaded, raising one hand toward him.
He flinched at the sound of my voice. His fingers twitched at his sides, but his expression remained blank.
"Come to me, Luca," Eira ordered.
He no longer seemed to resist. He began moving toward her instead.
Each step towards her seemed like his body was resisting the command. The water had reached his waist and then his chest.
He stopped in front of me and our eyes met for a few seconds. For a second, I saw my friend in him.
But then he muttered low under his breath,
"I’m sorry."
It was as if he was trying his best to fight it, but he was failing.
"Drown her," she roared, making my body flinch at the horrible plan she had for me.
"I said drown her!" she screamed once again.
I looked at Luca, who raised both his hands toward me before his fingers curled and he started to shake his head.
"Never," he said through heavy breaths, and that was enough.
He lowered his hands and looked at her.
"I would never hurt her. I would never harm anything related to her," he screamed back at her, and I relaxed.
However, Eira screamed and came at me with the dagger in her hand.
As she did, I held her hand and twisted it. But I was a little too late to realize that I was no longer her target.
Her target was Luca now because he had defied her.
While I managed to take the dagger from her, she attacked Luca.
She wrapped both her hands around his neck to tighten her grip and whispered,
"I left the blue river to travel through the waters just to take revenge because I lost my tail. I am no longer the queen of the blue river. I am able to leave. I am not able to prepare any more pearls. You are going to listen to me and punish those who have done this to me."
She whispered to Luca, and I realized she was trying to control him again.
