Chapter 162: Chapter 162 Lethal Weapon

The West, The Palace

Elijah was in a foul mood. The damn Yankees had started this war much too early. Since Elijah had already deployed his main force against the rebels, he had neglected his frontier defenses. Now, his border defenses were as vulnerable as an ant’s nest.

Damn Klaus, Elijah vowed to rip Klaus’s head off himself.

Elijah’s train of thought was interrupted by a soft knock at the door. The secretary-general then pushed his way into the council room, followed by the two military officers.

One by one, they took their seats, each with a look of astonishment on their face as they saw the dark wizard finally enter.

It was evident that the officials were deeply repelled by the black sorcerer standing before them. Although he was now dressed in more modest attire, he could hardly conceal his ugly hunchback, and the foul stench emanating from his person.

Ignoring their disgusted expressions, the dark wizard silently dragged a chair to the corner and sat down.

"I was the one who asked Grimm to come to this meeting," Elijah explained, and then he called the meeting to order.

Turning on his computer, the secretary-general projected the screen onto a projector and briefed the group on the situation at the border.

"The Northern Army has been conducting intense artillery attacks on our borders, and they have now captured several positions along the border," the secretary-general sounded eager. "Based on the route of the Northern Army’s attack, it appears that their ultimate goal is our capital city."

"The Northern Army has come prepared this time. We need to increase our troops at the border. Otherwise, it will be difficult for us to resist their attacks," the secretary-general said.

Elijah remained silent; he did not reply to the secretary-general.

Two other military officers then reported to him, one after the other, on the status of eliminating the rebels. Fortunately, they had captured one of the rebel chiefs, who was now in prison and had offered to submit to the new king.

"Perhaps we can use that prisoner to find the rebel army’s base and eliminate them in one fell swoop," a military official wearing a military uniform with a high-ranking medal on his chest suggested. "As long as we annihilate the rebels, we’ll have enough resources to fight the Northern Army."

"But the Northern Army won’t wait for you," another older military officer with gray spots on his face objected. "By the time we annihilate the rebel army, I’m afraid the Northern Army will have already captured the capital."

"And what is your solution?" Elijah asked openly.

"I suggest negotiating peace with the rebels first and then moving all of our forces to the border to fight the Northern Army," the older officer said. "The Northern Army is our real enemy compared to the rebels."

"The rebels won’t negotiate peace easily; they’re incredibly cunning and not worth cooperating with at all," another senior officer stated. "As long as we can locate the rebel army’s base, I guarantee we’ll annihilate them in the shortest time possible."

The two officers presented differing viewpoints, each sticking to their own plan. After an endless debate, they left the decision to Elijah.

Elijah rubbed his forehead; he was also hesitating. He was threatened by both the rebels and the Northern Army. Both factions aimed to topple his regime.

His original plan was to deal with the rebels first. However, a surprise attack by the Northern Army disrupted his plans. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

At that moment, Elijah’s eyes wandered to the sorcerer in the corner, who sat silently in the same position.

The sorcerer’s eyes were fixed on the map displayed on the projector, as if he had something to say.

"Green," Elijah called the sorcerer’s name, "do you have any suggestions?"

Slowly, the sorcerer rose and walked up to the secretary-general, glancing at the laser pointer in his hand.

"May I borrow your pointer?" The sorcerer’s raspy voice caused the secretary-general to frown.

So, the secretary-general tossed the laser pointer on the table in front of the sorcerer and turned his head away, disgusted by the sorcerer’s hideous face.

Unfazed, the sorcerer picked up the laser pointer and stood at the other end of the table, happening to face Elijah.

"First, I suggest making peace with the rebels," the sorcerer said. "Whatever terms they offer, we fulfill them as best we can. Then, we can move some of our troops to the Galaxy Pack and keep the other part in the capital. Our priority now is to deal with the Northern Army."

"If my judgment is correct, the Northern Army’s reserve military area should be here," the sorcerer pointed to the northern border marked on the map. "As long as we destroy the Northern Army’s reserve military area, we can cut off all their supply lines. We’ll trap the Northern Army in the canyon and attack them from two separate sides."

Elijah scooted his chair to one side as he looked at the spot the sorcerer pointed to. There was the Galaxy Pack, the territory he had once been in.

This was where Elijah and Klaus fought their fiercest battles.

Since Elijah became king, he had given the Galaxy Pack to the care of his former Beta, who was now the Alpha of the Galaxy Pack.

Although the Alpha of the Galaxy Pack was also a good fighter, he was still far from Klaus’s league.

"Go on, Grimm," Elijah wanted to hear what Grimm had to say.

"If the Northern Army is going to raid the capital in the shortest time possible, they’ll have to go through the Galaxy Pack," the sorcerer said, pointing his laser pointer to the border location marked on the map. "All we have to do is lure the Northern Army here."

"The Galaxy Pack has a big advantage in terms of location. As long as we lure the Northern Army into the canyon and attack them from behind," the sorcerer pointed to another location on the map, "the Northern Army will be doomed."

"That’s easy for you to say," the officer with gray patches on his face said disdainfully. "Raiding the Northern Army requires not only troop strength but also a specific strategic plan. Who’s going to do this, you?"

"I can do this," the sorcerer said confidently.

However, the sorcerer’s words drew immediate ridicule from the three officials. They shook their heads, indicating that he couldn’t do it.

"Do you think fighting a war is as easy as doing magic?" another officer said sarcastically.

"I guess you’ve never been to war, right?" the secretary-general added. "This is not a child’s game."

"Shut up!" Elijah slammed the table hard, and the others immediately fell silent.

For Elijah, the best weapon against the North was the Undying Legion, but he didn’t yet possess it. Besides, he couldn’t let anyone else know the secret of the Undying Legion.

Then, Elijah adjourned the meeting and told the others to leave, leaving the sorcerer alone.

Once Elijah and the sorcerer were the only ones left in the meeting room, Elijah asked, "Is there any way I can have the Undead Legion right now?"

The sorcerer’s brow furrowed, and after a moment, he said, "I have a way, but it’s dangerous."

"What way?" Elijah asked.
