An Extra Villain in Cultivation World-Chapter 59: Tang Lishen Hypocrisy
Tang Lishen walked forward and stopped at a proper distance before Han Meiyu, then bowed respectfully. "Master, it’s good to see you again." Han Meiyu did not respond to his greeting. Her gaze remained lowered, resting on him with an indifferent expression, as though she were looking at something mildly troublesome rather than her own disciple.
Although Tang Lishen was one of her personal disciples, he was not the only one she had accepted. During her expeditions outside the sect, she had taken in several disciples with potential, though most of them did not reside within the sect grounds. Compared to them, Tang Lishen indeed possessed respectable cultivation talent, advancing steadily and showing ambition beyond his peers.
Her eyes shifted briefly to the red letter placed near her feet, the one sent from the outer sect. She glanced at it again, and a faint irritation surfaced in her expression. The contents of that letter were the reason this meeting had been arranged. As her gaze returned to Tang Lishen, her mood grew slightly colder, though her posture remained relaxed.
The hall was silent. Tang Lishen straightened slowly after bowing, sensing that something was wrong, but still maintained his composure. He did not know yet that the letter at Han Meiyu’s feet would soon decide the direction of his fate.
His eyes shifted towards Luo Yan and Lin Feng, already seated in the hall. Luo Yan sat quietly with her eyes closed, as if she were meditating. Lin Feng sat beside her, his expression firm. When Tang Lishen noticed them, his gaze paused on Luo Yan for a brief moment. He bowed slightly toward her. "Senior Sister."
Seeing no response from Luo Yan, a sudden tightening feeling gripped Tang Lishen’s chest. For a fleeting moment, he felt ignored, and that sting of neglect unsettled him more than anger ever could. His eyes darted toward Lin Feng. He didn’t bother to bow; instead, a faint smirk played on his lips before he looked away, brushing him off as someone beneath notice.
"This little bastard..." Lin Feng cursed silently, anger simmering within him. His hands clenched slightly on his knees, but he forced himself to stay seated.
Han Meiyu spoke at last. "Did you hire bounty hunters and ’why’ explain everything?" Tang Lishen’s brows lifted slightly, so she knew about that?. With Master’s support, I can settle this properly, he thought coldly. That woman will understand who she belongs to.
....
"Master..." Tang Lishen straightened slightly as he spoke. "While I was travelling through the outer sect grounds after breaking through to the next minor realm, my spirit was high, my foundation stable. It was then that my gaze fell upon a woman travelling alone in the outer sect ground."She was... exceptionally beautiful. Far beyond what an outer sect disciple should be allowed to possess.
Tang Lishen let out a small scoff, In the cultivation world, beauty without support is a curse. I knew that even if I did nothing, she would eventually be claimed by someone far worse. "As a senior brother from the inner sect and as someone carrying your name, I believed it was my responsibility to decide her future. I, Tang Lishen decided to bestow her with my seed, status, and future—by taking her as my concubine."
Tang Lishen paused, then added firmly, as though clarifying a generous act."To be taken as my concubine was not a humiliation. It was a step upward she could never reach on her own. This was kindness, Master. A blessing she could never have. With me, she would gain cultivation materials, protection from enemies, and a place in the inner sect’s shadow."
Luo Yan clenched her fingers, resisting the urge to press her forehead in frustration. Please... just stop talking, Junior Brother she screamed internally. Her patience was fraying with each word he uttered. The more he tried to justify himself, the deeper he sank. She took a slow, steady breath. At least his intentions weren’t entirely malicious, she told herself. He truly believed he was protecting her, even if his methods were a bit perverted.
Tang Lishen shook his head slowly, disappointment evident in his voice. "Yet she failed to recognise her own fortune. Instead of kneeling in gratitude and serving her new master, she hesitated." His expression darkened. "Worse... she chose to rely on someone else."
"Because of that filth—" His tone turned cold, no longer pretending benevolence—an outer sect nobody who dared to stand between me and what I had already decided."
Han Meiyu’s expression shifted for the first time. Xuanyan... she thought inwardly. According to the information Luo Yan had given her earlier, and the contents of the letter from the outer sect, Lingling had finally chosen a dao partner.
She was genuinely curious now. Xuanyan... Mei Lingyao’s first-ever disciple. For years, Mei Lingyao had turned away countless talented candidates–promising inner sect prodigious, well-connected heirs, even those recommended by elders–yet she had never once accepted any of them. And now... she had chosen someone from the outer sect.
"Her future son-in-law?". The thought made Han Meiyu’s lips curve faintly.
"Interesting."
She turned her gaze back to Tang Lishen, her expression calm yet curious. "Tell me," she asked, "about this filth you keep mentioning. I want to hear exactly what he did.
Tang Lishen drew a slow breath before continuing. "That outer sect filth appeared—acting familiar, standing too close to her, speaking as if he were her equal." His voice grew colder. "I warned him. I told him to step aside. I even mentioned your name Master, so he would understand the weight behind my words."Not only did he refuse to acknowledge my goodwill, but he also humiliated me in public. He kissed my woman in front of me, without showing the slightest respect.
"You misunderstand a lot," Xuanyan’s voice echoed inside Tang Lishen’s mind reminding him of his place, making him clench his fists in humiliation, he dared to lecture me... as if I were beneath him.
"Master, I-Tang Lishen made it clear whose disciple I was. And still, he dared."
