An Extra's POV: My Three Fiancees Hate Me-Chapter 91: Grimhold
Chapter 91: Grimhold
Sally went on one knee the moment the figure appeared, her head was lowered—she dared not meet his gaze.
"Archbishop, I received your message, and so I came here," she said, her tone respectful.
"Good, you came quickly. The issue at hand has changed. You were supposed to watch the Chosen One and give us intel, but after a few meetings, we finally came to a conclusion.
It is not worth it to watch him grow in strength. We have decided to remove him from the picture. Your mission has now changed—you are to kill Lance," the figure said.
Sally’s eyes widened when she heard that. She looked up but then recalled that she couldn’t and dropped her head again.
"Archbishop, why the sudden change in decision? The plan had always been to observe him and see if he was really a risk worth our attention," Sally said.
"Hmmm, I guess I can give you a bit of an explanation. You have earned that much. The decision was made after your last report on him. He had only received his blessing a few months ago.
Before then, he was an average noble, but now, in just two months, he is one of the strongest of his age group. If he is allowed to grow even more, he’ll become an issue that we don’t want.
So that’s why the mission has changed—you are to make sure that Lance dies."
"I see. But Archbishop, you know that he is guarded in the shadows by the Royal Family. It would be extremely difficult for us to take him down," Sally said.
"Indeed, we have thought about that, and so we have made a plan to handle it. Do you recall Operation Bloodzone?" he asked.
Her eyes lit up in shock when he asked about that. It was a plan they prepared for a situation where they had to kill all the students of the academy to destroy the next generation of warriors.
"Archbishop, that plan will require a lot of planning and preparation. The demonized gates can’t be opened without the required sacrifices, and I can’t do it alone," she said.
"Yes, I understand that. You don’t have to worry—the rest will be taken care of. You’ll know when we get in motion. For now, keep an eye on Lance. He is the greatest threat to us in the Royal Academy," the Archbishop said, and the projection ended.
Sally finally stood up. She stared at the stone.
"I don’t think Lance is the one we should worry about in the academy," she muttered. For some reason, she felt like Lance was not the biggest issue—even if he was the Chosen One. But she couldn’t say that. After all, she had no proof, and the prophecy also said ’the one chosen by light.’
She walked away from the rock, out of the forest, and made her way back into the academy. She walked past the first-year Vermillion dorm.
What she didn’t know was that as she passed and went into the building, someone was watching her from the window. Riven stood there at his window, his eyes following her until she was out of view.
"So it’s starting already. If it’s starting, then that means those three will soon arrive."
The first class of the day was basic martial arts. All students were advised to partake in this class, but those who were sure that they wanted to be mages and didn’t want to explore the other options could skip this class.
Riven and Noel stood in the class along with about thirty others. They stood waiting for the instructor to come in.
A few minutes later, he walked in. He was a tall man, well over six feet, with an athletic build. His hair was white as snow and his eyes were blue as the ocean.
Unlike the other teachers and instructors, he didn’t wear the uniform. He wore a fitting long-sleeve black shirt and cargo pants.
Riven looked at this man—he knew who he was. He was one of the very few characters in the novel that was based on a character from an anime on Earth.
He was not just strong, but incredibly so. This instructor was Quin, one of the strongest battle mages in the story. The length of his power was unknown throughout the story.
But just for context, he was beating up grown-up Lance at one point in the story without breaking a single sweat.
’I wonder why he was never part of the people that went to stop the demons with Lance. His strength was definitely terrifying,’ Riven thought.
"Good day, young ones. I’m Quin Grimhold, your instructor," the man said with a small smile on his face.
"Grimhold? Did he say he’s from Grimhold?" one student asked.
"The Grimhold clan? No wonder his hair is white. That means he’s from the main family of the clan," another student said.
’Yup, the Grimhold clan—they aren’t nobles, they aren’t commoners, they aren’t knights—they are heroes and one of the top people of the kingdom.
They are the foundation of this entire kingdom,’ Riven said in his mind. He wrapped his arms and looked at the others as they were wowed.
When this kingdom was created, the first king, Vermillion, gave birth to eight children. The first son soon took over the crown and became the king. The other children went on to become the seven clans of the kingdom. Grimhold was one of those clans.
The clans were not noble, but they stood above even the nobles. And though they possessed immense power in the kingdom, they hardly ever did anything. They simply watched in silence.
’Even during the first major wars in the story, the seven families didn’t do anything to help. It wasn’t until later that they finally sent out their clan members—and that’s what mostly changed the game for humans and saved them,’ Riven thought, folding his arms.
His eyes met with those of Quin, and Quin smiled at him for some reason.
