Angle's Arrogance? My Pact with the Succubus Queen!-Chapter 267: Temple City, Trapping the Enemy General!
Temple City, one of the three major strongholds of the Judgement Tribunal.
While Saint Heart City was still cleaning up the remnants of the Shadow Army, the war here had already started again.
Although Shadow’s projection was trapped in the volcano, she could still remotely command her main forces through the Shadow Beings network.
"Damn it, another ten thousand Shadow puppets have appeared. Are they never going to end?" On the city wall, Arthur lowered his telescope, his single eye showing a serious expression.
"Shadow is using all her best forces. She’s going all in." Shaya Priest and Nancy Priest stood beside Arthur, their holy cloaks rustling in the wind.
"Try to hold them back," Arthur said seriously. "We need time for Logan and the others to cut off the anchors."
"As long as three anchors are destroyed, Shadow’s projection will disappear, and the Shadow Army will lose their unified command."
With that, Arthur turned to look at the remaining forces of Temple City behind him.
After the continuous battles, the Judgement Tribunal’s审判 knights had suffered heavy losses. Only less than three thousand were still standing, and all of them were injured.
On the other side were Eugenia and the Temple Knight Corps she led.
Because of the stupid god and the Temple’s management, Shadow’s Shadow Vein had not entered the Holy City.
The Temple Knight Corps had almost all of its forces out, supporting the main cities and defending against the Shadow puppets.
"Temple Knight Corps, listen up!" Arthur ordered.
"Yes!" Eugenia immediately stood straight, ready for her mission.
Arthur looked at the golden rose in armor, and coldly said, "Lead one thousand Temple knights as an assault team. Be ready to charge at any moment."
"Yes!"
"Michelangelo! Amastred!" Arthur continued.
Two giant dragons landed on the city wall.
On the left was the Golden Holy Dragon, all golden, its scales like molten lava, over a hundred meters long.
On the right was the Diamond Holy Dragon, its body shining like diamonds, slightly smaller, but still eighty meters long.
Arthur looked at the strong warriors standing on the heads of the two dragons and said, "Patrol the front line. Use your dragon breath and defense to stop the enemy from charging."
"Roar!" The two dragons roared together.
Michelangelo and Amastred both struck their right fists against their chests and gave Arthur a salute.
After the two dragons left, Arthur looked back toward the city wall and shouted, "Beatrice!"
Suddenly, there was a splash of water.
A giant eel, eighty meters long and deep blue, lifted its head from the water channel. Beatrice nodded to Arthur: "Don’t worry, I’ll treat the wounded."
As she spoke, the blue ice eel released a faint blue healing mist from its mouth, covering the whole wall.
With everything set, Arthur took a deep breath. He placed his hands on the city wall, and his familiar space opened up. A one-eyed giant with a Lightning Hammer appeared in front of the wall.
"One-eyed Giant – Order Blood Cultivation Realm!"
Suddenly, golden waves burst from the single eye. The waves spread out for 500 meters, forming a semi-transparent golden barrier.
On the surface of the barrier, countless small runes representing order and rules flowed, and the runes flashed with bright lightning. It was specially designed to counter chaos and dark energy.
After Arthur set up the Blood Cultivation Realm, Shaya Priest and Nancy Priest looked at each other and each tore open their own talismans.
"Sacred Firemaze – Eternal Cage!"
A white inferno poured down like a waterfall, forming a layer of Infernomaze around the Order Blood Cultivation Realm.
The maze’s passages were complicated, and the walls were made of burning sacred fire. Any shadow creature that stepped inside would take continuous purifying damage.
Also, the maze structure would change automatically over time, making it hard for intruders to find their way, slowing them down.
This was a secret treasure from the Holy City, directly given by the high priest to Shaya Priest to bring to Temple City for support.
Now, the Holy City’s maze, the one-eyed giant’s Blood Cultivation Realm, and the two dragons’ mobility formed three layers of defense, all connected and working together.
"Now, just wait for them to run into it," Arthur gripped his sword hilt, staring intently at the approaching black tide.
The vanguard of the Shadow Army stopped 300 meters away from the Sacred Firemaze.
One of the three Shadow Generals raised his hand, and the army came to a complete stop.
"Turtle shell tactic?" the general laughed. "Do you think this can stop us?"
He waved his hand, and dozens of Shadow Beasts behind him roared into the sky.
These Shadow Beasts came in all shapes, but each had at least 28 stars of shadow energy inside.
"First wave: Shadow Beast charge!"
Boom!
Dozens of Shadow Beasts rushed forward like black meteors, slamming into the Sacred Firemaze.
The first three wolf-shaped Shadow Beasts hit the Inferno wall.
Sacred Fire and shadow energy clashed violently, making a sharp, corrosive sound.
The black mist on the Shadow Beasts’ bodies was quickly burned away, but they pushed through the purifying damage, breaking through the first layer of Inferno.
"Dragon breath, intercept!" Michelangelo growled.
The Golden Holy Dragon dove down and shot a stream of molten lava at the wolf-shaped Shadow Beasts.
The extreme heat melted their shells, and black mist rose as the three beasts screamed and fell, their bodies dissolving in the Sacred Fire.
But more Shadow Beasts came forward. Spider-shaped Shadow Beasts shot out black nets, trying to trap the two dragons.
Cloud-shaped Shadow Beasts turned into a black cloud, covering the whole line and starting to corrode the soldiers on the wall.
"Purifying Rain!" Beatrice stood behind and, at the right moment, used her healing power to support.
The Deep Sea Blue Ice Eel shot out a water column, which turned into ice rain in the air.
Each drop had healing and purifying power. When it hit the Temple knights, it quickly healed their wounds. When it hit the Shadow Beasts, it acted like strong acid, burning their bodies.
"Assault team, prepare!" Eugenia raised her sword and led her troops forward.
The Shadow Army was huge in number, but lacked high-level commanders.
At this moment, Shadow’s projection was trapped. Even though the three Shadow Generals had 30-star peak power, in a battlefield of tens of thousands, they couldn’t overwhelm Arthur and the others.
Also, the average intelligence of the Shadow Army was very low, and they were far less flexible in tactics than Arthur.
This gave Eugenia a chance to strike from the back. She quietly led her troops around the side of the Shadow Army and launched a sudden attack, killing and wounding many.
"They are cutting off our energy supply lines!" one of the Shadow Generals finally realized.
"We can’t keep doing this!" another general roared. "Full force forward! Break through by force!"
Blow!
A deep horn sounded, and the black tide of the Shadow Army surged forward like a tsunami toward the Temple City defense line.
"Now!" Eugenia led the way, her golden battle aura flaring like fire.
Her sword pointed forward, a hundred-meter-long blade cut through the earth, reaching the location of the three Shadow Generals.
Behind her, a thousand knights followed closely, like a sharp knife, stabbing deep into the heart of the Shadow Army.
"Stop them!" the Shadow General roared in anger.
But it was too late.
Eugenia’s assault team was made up of the best of the Temple Knight Corps, well-coordinated and well-equipped.
Although their strength was slightly weaker, they had chosen the perfect moment to attack — when the main force of the Shadow Army was fully inside the maze, and their formation was at its weakest.
Sizzle!
The black army formation was torn open with force, and Eugenia rushed straight toward the three Shadow Generals.
"Idiot, you’re not even 20 stars. Why come to die?" one of the Shadow Generals sneered, and immediately summoned his subordinates to meet her.
At that moment, Eugenia, right in front of the three Shadow Generals, picked up a horn and blew into it.
With the sound of the horn, the three generals shuddered violently. Their 30-star power was suddenly reduced to just 20 stars.
Then, the Golden Holy Dragon and the Diamond Holy Dragon on the city wall both dove down, blocking the path of the three Shadow Generals.
"Now, it’s three against one!" Eugenia stood before the three generals, her sword pointed down, glowing with golden light.
"Damn it! It’s a divine artifact," the three generals looked pale. They knew they had been outwitted.
"Retreat!" one of them gritted his teeth and ordered.
"Want to run?" Eugenia sneered, and immediately raised her rune, tearing it apart.
"Sacred Fire Cage!"
Suddenly, the figure of the high priest appeared in the sky. She crossed her hands in prayer, and the Sacred Firemaze suddenly contracted, forming a huge Inferno cage that trapped the three generals and their bodyguards inside.
The Shadow Generals hadn’t expected Eugenia to have so many treasures on her. Their faces turned dark.
"Now, it’s just a matter of slowly draining your energy," Arthur landed beside Eugenia on his flying familiar, coldly watching the three Shadow Generals. "When Logan cuts the anchors, you... won’t be escaping at all."
With that, Arthur’s hand dropped a delicate iron hammer to the ground.
The three Shadow Generals suddenly felt their bodies controlled by lightning, their limbs shaking, numbness spreading, and they were completely paralyzed.
Arthur looked up toward the direction of Saint Heart City.
"Logan, the time is yours now. It’s up to you now."
North of Saint Heart City, two hundred kilometers away, at the frontline command center.
General Darwin sat next to a printer familiar, studying intelligence reports while producing nanorobots.
General Philip stood beside him, commanding his mechanical army to constantly throw battlefield debris into the mouth of the printer familiar.
Next to them, General Camilla’s spiritual projection sat cross-legged, her mental power field covering the entire fortress perimeter.
General Timo leaned against the wall, playing with a deep rune in his hand. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
"Darwin, are you sure? The Shadow Army will arrive in three minutes," he asked.
Darwin nodded. "According to the energy readings, these enemies have integrated the Order Reorganization Protocol’s technology. Their mechanical level exceeds seventy percent."
Philip’s eyes lit up. "My [Hayya·Bakaz] is already repaired. I can face them head-on and maybe collect some parts in the process."
"Don’t fight directly," Darwin waved his hand, cutting off Philip. "Our job is to analyze the nanorune frequency on them, and track the anchor coordinates in reverse."
