Angle's Arrogance? My Pact with the Succubus Queen!-Chapter 283: The First Chairman Is Still Alive!
These runes looked familiar to Logan. They were similar to some on Yepera’s bones, but simpler.
"Looks like the person who built this altar studied Yepera’s bones." Logan said, then jumped into the altar first.
Everyone followed Logan inside.
The floor was made of obsidian, covered with complex energy circuits that glowed faintly.
Arthur, Philip, Darwin, Monet, and Camilla stood on the outside, watching through a crystal ball projection.
Logan looked around and asked: "Who’s first?"
Natalia stepped forward. Her black armor moved with the wind. "I’ll go first."
She walked to the center of the altar.
The runes on the floor lit up instantly. A bright light shot into the sky and formed a figure.
It was a man in an old robe, holding a jade staff. His face was serious, and behind him, 21 familiar shadows flickered.
Logan scanned with his soul power and said: "This is a projection of the Third Chairman. He’s a 29-star Saint."
The Third Chairman’s projection didn’t speak much. He just raised his hand.
"Space Cut!"
In an instant, the space cracked like glass. Dark space cracks spread toward Natalia, cutting deep trenches into the ground wherever they passed.
Natalia didn’t run. She just opened her hands.
"Web Domain!"
Philip, watching from the sidelines, widened his eyes. "What is she doing? She’s going to take it head-on? Those are space cracks—touch them and you die!"
Darwin next to him laughed. "Watch closely. This isn’t just taking a hit."
The black threads flew into the cracks. Instead of fighting, they started to mend them.
Judge Arthur muttered: "Like sewing a piece of cloth... she’s fixing the broken space?"
General Darwin stared at the crystal ball. "Not just fixing. She’s changing the density of the laws in that area."
In the arena, Natalia’s threads wrapped around each space crack with precision.
Broken space fragments were connected by the black threads, pulled back, stitched, and restored.
The Third Chairman’s projection looked surprised. He flashed away, trying to get some distance.
But Natalia’s threads already wrapped around his energy points.
Natalia sneered. "You’re just a projection. Your space skills are too rough."
She thought, and the threads tightened, wrapping the projection like a cocoon.
Then she changed the space direction. The projection was thrown head-first into the ground.
Boom!
The ground cracked, and dust filled the air.
Three minutes later, the projection disappeared, leaving a golden inheritance mark that entered Natalia’s forehead.
Her Soul Sea slightly expanded, and her 28 star marks glowed brighter.
Natalia stepped back. Lucia walked forward. "It’s my turn."
The altar lit up again.
This time, a giant with a half-mechanical body appeared. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
The projection of the founder of the Military Committee showed up. His body was covered in silver armor, with red electronic eyes.
He changed shape. Gears turned. Missiles opened. His body turned into a war fortress.
Logan used his data eyes. "Another old guy. 28-star Saint."
Missile launchers opened. Lasers on his armor charged up.
Dada-da!
Hundreds of missiles shot out every second, and lasers formed a deadly net.
Lucia didn’t move. She opened her Crystal Body. "Come on, then!"
She shouted, and her skin turned glass-like. Black Dragon bones’ runes appeared on her body.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Missiles exploded on her body. Lasers hit her chest.
Her Crystal Body cracked, but quickly healed. The Black Dragon runes fixed the damage.
80% of physical damage was reflected. 50% of energy attacks were refracted.
Lucia took the fire, and stepped forward.
Each step made the ground shake slightly.
She threw a punch. The damage she took was reflected, adding power to her punch. The punch made the war fortress’s armor dent.
The fortress made a mechanical voice. "Analyzing target... threat level... exceeds preset..."
Lucia yelled: "Now you understand? It’s too late!"
Second punch. The armor cracked.
Third punch. The armor was pierced.
Fourth, fifth, sixth.
Seventh punch hit, and the fortress broke apart into light and disappeared.
Lucia stood tall, breathing hard. Her Crystal Body slowly faded.
In the watching area, all the Federation leaders were speechless.
If Natalia showed them a skill that was hard to break, then Lucia showed them raw power and unbreakable defense.
Old Corleone rubbed his beard and said in amazement: "Power beats skill. She took a full 28-star Saint’s attack head-on. This battle style is terrifying. Is it something Logan just invented?"
General Philip said nothing and shook his head.
At that moment, the big armor disappeared completely from the altar.
Lucia stepped back slowly, and a golden mark now appeared on her forehead.
"Guess this was easier than I thought. My turn!" Sophia cracked her knuckles, ready to step into the center of the altar.
Just then, the altar suddenly shook.
A stronger presence than the previous two projections suddenly appeared.
The stone pillars trembled. Rocks fell from above.
A figure formed in the center of the altar.
It was a woman dressed in men’s clothes. Her face was handsome, her eyes deep like the stars.
She wore an old chairman’s robe, but her strength and beauty were clear.
When everyone saw her, both those in the altar and the Federation leaders watching from the outside were shocked.
They all knew this figure very well. They had seen her in school books since childhood.
The projection of the First Chairman, Aphrodite.
She didn’t appear by accident. She came on purpose.
Her eyes passed through the crowd and locked directly on Logan.
"Little guy with 36-star." she said, cold but curious: "you come challenge me."
Sophia stopped in her tracks. Her eyes narrowed.
This pressure was way stronger than the previous two projections.
...
Sophia bit her lip, about to speak, but Aphrodite didn’t even look at her.
"I’ll finish my fight first," Sophia stepped into the center of the altar, her voice strong. "After I win, you can fight him."
Aphrodite frowned slightly but didn’t stop her. She just said coldly: "Hurry up. Your Soul Sea can’t take too long under the Destruction Eye."
The altar flashed with light. Another projection formed.
It was the first leader of the Adventurer Guild. He was thin, held two daggers, and had a deadly aura around him.
Logan scanned with his soul power. "28-star Saint. Fast style. His energy points are spread across twelve ghost images."
Before he finished speaking, the assassin turned into twelve ghost images, moving so fast it was almost impossible to follow.
Outside the altar.
Philip opened his eyes wide. "So fast! This speed... even faster than your nanorobots!"
Darwin watched the crystal ball, his face serious. "It’s not speed. It’s Space Fold. He’s shortening the distance."
Twelve daggers slashed toward Sophia from all directions. Each carried the sharp power of a 35-star Saint.
Sophia laughed and stayed rooted to the spot. Her eyes suddenly flashed with a bright light. "Destruction Eye, open!"
Her vision changed instantly. She could see thirty-six energy paths clearly. Her pupils spun with a nine-point star.
Sophia whispered to herself, her eyes bleeding slightly. "The third one on the left is real. No, the fourth is too... all nine are real? Then... blow them all up!"
She raised her hand and clenched it.
All twelve ghosts froze. They felt their energy flowing backward, swelling, and going out of control.
One of the images screamed: "No! Stop! What kind of magic is this... my energy!"
Boom!
Nine images exploded at once, turning into bright lights. The remaining three were torn apart by the explosion.
The assassin’s projection didn’t even get close. It was torn apart by its own energy in an explosion.
Sophia ended her technique and closed her eyes to rest. A line of blood ran down her cheek. "Nine energy points at the limit. One more, and my eyes would be gone."
She stepped back, nodded to Logan, and a golden mark now appeared on her forehead. But her face was pale as a ghost.
Logan reached out to help her. "Great job."
Sophia took a deep breath. "Your turn. Be careful. I feel she’s strong—stronger than the first three put together."
Now it was Logan’s turn.
The Aphrodite projection stood quietly, with more admiration in her eyes. "A 36-star Legend stage. Interesting. In the history of the Human Federation, no one has reached 36 stars without becoming a Saint. You’re the first I’ve seen."
Logan stepped into the center of the altar. His bones resonated inside. The Yepera and Black Dragon bones both started to shake. "Please, show me your strength."
"Strong Saint-stage warriors don’t use fancy moves. They use pure power. Take this punch!" Aphrodite said no more. She attacked right away.
Her first punch flew out, bringing the pressure of a 35-star Saint. The punch carried the power to collapse space. It shattered the air, breaking it into pieces.
Logan didn’t move. He took the hit.
Boom!
He stepped back three steps. The ground had three deep trenches. His palms cracked open, and blood came out. His chest felt like it was on fire.
Aphrodite’s eyes flashed with surprise. "You’re the first Legend-stage warrior to survive my first punch."
"Second punch!" She followed up, even stronger. Her punch became real, like a mountain crushing down.
Logan growled. The destructive power of the Black Dragon bones burst out. Black inferno met golden punch power.
Boom!
A storm of energy swept through. The altar’s stone pillars shook violently, and rocks flew everywhere.
Logan steadied himself. A line of blood ran from his mouth, but his eyes became sharper. "One more punch."
"Third punch!" Aphrodite used all her power. Her punch turned into a golden meteor. Space completely collapsed. It came down with the power to destroy everything.
