Antihero In the Hero Academy: I Can Connect the Past Heroes-Chapter 27: Near By The World Tree
Chapter 27 - Near By The World Tree
At Atlas's words, the old elf seemed to smile.
"Come on then, you have one more day before your lessons start, let's talk." Dumgrith suddenly said, and with that, Atlas' smile grew even wider, and then he said the following words:
"I would be honoured, sir, if our friends behind me could join us."
There was no way to describe the surprise on the faces of the student committee members behind him as he finished.
Dumgrith was the wizard behind Cordelia at the academy. It was a great chance and honour to even speak to this man, and the possibility of even getting such a chance was priceless to them.
Dumgrith looked at the boys behind him after young Atlas' words and shook his head, "Student committee, huh? They work their arse off for our academy every day, I've been wanting to have them here for a long time, come on in."
The eyes of each group member opened wide at these words.
However, with great surprise, the group began to follow Atlas, who had begun to follow Dumgrith.
After a long walk of almost fifteen minutes, the group of almost ten people managed to reach Dumgrith's room.
Even if the room looked small from the outside, the power of magic could not be underestimated. Passing through the door, the young people stepped into a place that could perhaps be seen as a large plot of land.
There were dozens of houses around and elves with smiling faces.
"Is this an elven village?" Atlas suddenly questioned, the smile on his face was the happiest he had seen elves in a long time. One of the worst effects of the war had been the destruction of the elven kingdoms around the world tree and even the entire elven army.
"Yes, this is a gateway connected to the world tree, my family and everyone I have is here," Dumgrith suddenly replied.

Hearing these words, Atlas could not hide his surprise and dozens of thoughts began to spin in his mind.
"That's why I couldn't catch up..." Atlas muttered in his mind. When the war started, everything happened very fast.
While he was defending the world tree so that the angelic portal would not open, the academy had turned into a battlefield.
Dumgrith himself must not have been able to close the portal, because before Atlas could even dream of catching up, the gates in both the world tree and the academy had opened.
This gave Atlas an excellent advantage.
If he could somehow learn this gate system that could connect such extreme regions, there would be no battlefield he could not reach.
Dumgrith had to deliver this method to Atlas with his own hands.
"Incredible..." someone from the student committee suddenly said. Of course, there were many races among them, but four of the eight members of the committee were human. It was unbelievable that they were seeing this place with their own eyes, which they had only heard about from stories.
"Are we allowed in here, sir?" Atlas asked. He knew how dependent the Elves were on their territory. Even some kings and emperors were serious enough not to take their territory.
They were literally so close to the world tree that the huge elven city could be seen from afar.
"Of course, we're only going to my house, after all, it's just over there," Dumgrith said and then started walking, taking the group behind him.
The faces of every elf who saw the group showed signs of lost trust. The reason for this was that five humans were in the group with Atlas. Of course, everyone, including humans, knew of the troubles that existed because of the suffering humans inflicted on all races.
They could not be trusted.
After a short time, they entered a mansion that Dumgrith called home, perhaps as large as the crown princess's palace.
When everyone had been seated by the servants, Atlas spoke without waiting:
"Very well. What were you doing in Frozen Meadows, the village with the dead tree? You are an elf and you live literally at the bottom of the world tree, so what were you doing in one of the tiny end villages of the tiny city? After all, even if the trees belong to another city, the village is connected to the city of Ilanos." Atlas asked.
Dumgrith smiled after Atlas's questions.
"To be honest young Atlas, I was just wandering around, the owner of the market where you first met me is an old comrade of mine, that's why I came to visit him. I recognised you the moment I saw you though, I wondered what the hell you were doing in Frozen Meadows since I knew Eva was in the main palace."
At these words, Atlas rolled his eyes and then muttered, "Wasn't it obvious what I was doing, sir? I was there to cure the dead tree."
"That's the problem, Atlas, how could you have healed that tree that had been dead for thousands of years, that tree that was rumoured to have been poisoned by demons? Since I told Cordelia, not only me and her but dozens of professors have been thinking about it. We can't come up with an answer," Dumgrith muttered, his expression turning serious and he started to look at Atlas with curiosity.
As the students on the student committee were trying to figure out what was going on, Atlas' voice was heard:
"It wasn't that hard. A dungeon."
Dumgrith blinked his eyes once or twice at Atlas' words and then asked, "What?"
"A dungeon, can't you understand, professor? I found a dungeon, it was quite obvious, in fact, as soon as I heard the story about the dead tree, I realised that it originated from a dungeon." Atlas replied.
"Impossible. There's no way a dungeon could rot a tree that full of life. The strongest wood in the world can't just die," Dumgrith said.
Atlas smiled and said, "It wasn't dead anyway, professor. The dungeon only absorbed enough of the tree's life energy to keep itself alive and thus managed to keep itself alive with the energy from the tree until someone cleaned and cleared it."
Dumgrith smiled as soon as he heard these words and then he did something that no one expected:
