Apocalypse Baby-Chapter 83: Damn Monkey: Disintegration
The monkey shaman growled in frustration as he saw Alex fleeing.
Clicking his teeth angrily, he darted forward to give chase.
But then—he stopped abruptly.
A strange, invisible force yanked him backward.
"What?!" the shaman hissed, his eyes widening as he twisted around to see the source.
Behind him, three swirling mini-black holes had appeared, their gravitational pull intensifying with every passing second. Objects around the forest floor—rocks, branches, leaves—were already being sucked into the vortexes.
The shaman gasped. "Impossible!"
He fought against the pull, his feet digging into the ground as he struggled to move away. His energy surged as he tried to stabilize himself, but the gravitational force suddenly surged, its strength growing exponentially.
Wind howled through the air as the black holes’ pull became irresistible. Nearby trees bent and cracked, their roots tearing free from the soil before being swallowed whole.
The shaman’s body trembled as he fought harder, pouring his power into resisting. "I won’t… be beaten by this!" he roared, his voice full of desperation.
But the black holes had no mercy.
With a forceful yank, the shaman’s resistance shattered.
His body was violently dragged toward the swirling vortexes, unable to escape the overwhelming pull.
"AAARGH!"
The shaman screamed as the gravitational force began crushing him, his body contorting under the immense pressure.
The swirling shards embedded within the black holes added to his torment, tearing into him with razor-sharp precision.
The air filled with the sound of his agonized cries as his form was relentlessly pulled apart.
"AAARGH!"
And then—silence.
The black hole detonated with an ear-splitting roar, unleashing a wave of rageful heat that consumed everything in its path.
The blast surged outward like an unstoppable nuke, obliterating anything it touched.
Trees disintegrated into ash, the ground cracked and scorched, and the very air seemed to vibrate with the sheer force of the explosion.
Alex kept running, his legs pumping furiously as he leaped over roots and debris.
He glanced back over his shoulder, his eyes widening at the sheer scale of destruction unfolding behind him.
The goblin base wasn’t spared.
Its once-formidable architecture crumbled like sandcastles in a storm, each structure disintegrating into nothing under the relentless wave of heat and force.
Even from a distance, Alex could feel the heat licking at his back like the breath of an angry dragon.
"Damn," he muttered under his breath, his heart pounding.
For a moment, he marveled at the raw power of his upgraded skill. Destruction at its finest. But his awe was short-lived—he could hear the roar of the flames behind him, growing louder and closer.
The explosion wasn’t done yet.
Flames surged forward, hungry and unrelenting, racing toward Alex like a living beast. His instincts screamed at him to move faster.
"Oh no, you don’t!" Alex growled, activating [Fast and Furious].
He wasn’t about to die to his own ability.
His body blurred as he ramped up his speed, weaving through the thick forest like a streak of lightning.
The heat was nearly unbearable, the flames close enough to make him break out in a sweat. Every step felt like a race against death itself.
For a few agonizing seconds, Alex pushed himself to the limit, his lungs burning and his muscles screaming in protest. And then—
BOOM!
The explosion reached its peak and dissipated, the flames finally dying down.
Panting, Alex skidded to a stop and turned back. His heart still raced as he surveyed the aftermath.
This content is taken from freёnovelkiss.com.
Where the goblin base had once stood, there was now only a massive, smoldering crater. Smoke rose into the sky, and the landscape was nothing but charred earth and ruin.
Alex stood frozen, his breath catching in his throat as he surveyed the aftermath of his attack.
The once-dense goblin base was now a vast clearing of scorched earth.
The ground was blackened, trees reduced to ash, and nothing but smoldering embers remained where structures had once stood.
He exhaled slowly, running a hand through his hair, the weight of the destruction sinking in.
"All that… from just five Blastshards," he muttered, his voice tinged with disbelief.
The thought hit him like a freight train.
Each shard had been amped to its absolute maximum, pushing the explosion’s destructive force to a level he hadn’t fully grasped until now.
"So this… this is how powerful [Exploding Touch] has gotten." He groaned, both in awe and with a tinge of unease.
"I’ve got to be careful with this…"
Before he could dwell on the implications, a familiar chime rang in his ears.
And a notification panel blinked into view, flooding Alex’s vision with its contents.
Ding!
You have killed Goblin Elder Shaman.
You have received 20 stat points.
You have received 5 Power Stones.
You have unlocked a new skill: [Black Flames].
[Black Flames]: Unleash flames that never go out, burning anything and everything they touch.
Alex’s eyes widened at the description of the new skill:
"Flames that never die? That’s... terrifying."
But the notifications weren’t done. Another alert popped up:
[Apocalypse Baby Kicking In!]
You have received an additional 20 stat points.
You have received an additional 5 Power Stones.
You have unlocked a new skill: [Farsight].
"Farsight?" Alex raised an eyebrow and focused on the skill’s description.
[Farsight]: Gain the ability to see over long distances with exceptional clarity.
Alex exhaled heavily, his chest rising and falling as he processed the sheer amount of stat points he had accumulated. His mind raced with possibilities.
"With all these points…" Alex muttered to himself, gripping his fists tightly, "I could easily replenish the attributes I sacrificed... or buy another upgrade stone."
His heart pounded at the thought.
If he used another upgrade stone on [Exploding Touch], it would reach SSS rank.
"SSS rank," Alex whispered, his lips curling into an almost maniacal grin.
His imagination ran wild, picturing the devastating force of the skill.
Entire landscapes obliterated in an instant. Mountains reduced to rubble. Armies wiped out in the blink of an eye.
"It would break all limits," he said, his voice trembling with both excitement and awe. "It would devour entire lands."
But before Alex could make a decision, a low, heavy thud echoed behind him.
His excited expression barely faltered as he slowly straightened up.
He had been expecting this.
The faint hum of crackling electricity filled the air, and Alex’s sharp ears picked up on it instantly.
Turning on his heel, his eyes locked onto the imposing figure that now stood before him. It was the Monkey King.
Its fur bristled with raw energy, arcs of blue lightning dancing across its body and surging along the length of a staff it held in one massive, clawed hand.
The Monkey King’s eyes glowed with an intense, almost predatory light as they bore into Alex. Its gaze was a mix of fury and disbelief, as though it struggled to comprehend the human standing before it.
"You..." the Monkey King growled, its voice low and venomous, vibrating with suppressed rage. "Who are you?"
Alex sighed, a subtle smirk forming as he tilted his head slightly.
"A lot of people have asked me that question," he said, his tone casual, almost teasing. "But, funny thing... it never ends well for them once they hear my answer."
The Monkey King narrowed its glowing eyes, electricity crackling louder across its staff. "Answer me," it growled, clearly unimpressed with Alex’s vague response.
"Fine," Alex said, shrugging like it was no big deal. "I’m an anomaly."
The Monkey King’s brows furrowed, confusion flashing across its face.
"Anomaly? That doesn’t make any sense!"
Ignoring the disbelief in its tone, Alex pulled up his status screen.
His finger hovered for a moment before he added 5 points to his agility.
Ding!
A notification flashed before his eyes.
[You have awakened a movement skill: Dash. Increases speed by 20% at the cost of Mana.]
"Oh," Alex muttered, slightly taken aback. "Wasn’t expecting that."
He couldn’t hide his surprise as the realization set in. "So hitting a hundred points in a stat unlocks new skills too?" he mused. The ever-growing arsenal of abilities at his disposal just kept getting better.
But before he could revel in his newfound speed.
Alex’s instincts screamed at him, and his body tensed.
The world around him began to shift. Colors drained away, leaving everything in stark shades of white and gray.
The crackling of the Monkey King’s lightning fell silent. The trees stopped swaying, frozen mid-motion.
Time had stopped.
Alex’s brows furrowed, irritation flaring in his chest. He knew what this was.
Another god wanted to talk.
