Apocalypse Cheater-Chapter 267: Unwanted Visitor Part 2
[: 3rd POV :]
With the sky hung heavy, casting a sombre presence over the once vibrant landscape of the newly risen continent, Daniel stood at the centre of the group. ๐๐ฃ๐๐๐ฐ๐๐๐ง๐ผ๐๐๐.๐ฐ๐จ๐ฆ
The remnants of the group still echoed.
With his attack previously, the air trembled, and the group could only remain still, afraid of what was about to come next.
Their expressions were a mixture of fear and nervousness.
They had trained relentlessly, yet the memory of their member killed within one attack lingered in the air like a menacing spectre.
The feeling of impending doom made the hair on their back of their neck stand on end.
"So what do you guys want to do now?" Dabiel asked despite the tension that weighed heavily upon them.
Before Daniel could continue, the senior spoke.
"You!" the Senior called out, his voice dripping with authority, yet underlined by an unmistakable tremor of fear.
"You've made a grave mistake by revealing your power. Surrender now, and we may yet spare your lives." The Senior threatened.
"You might not know who we are, but we are cultivators, a mighty superior group that belonged to the 'Alliance"
"Someone like you couldn't hope to achieve and be part of the so while I'm still being humble, you might have a chance, no, your planet might have a chance in surviving, " the senior continued.
"No matter how strong you are, there's no way you can handle whatever fate this planet has,, the senior exclaimed.
He had hoped that by relying on his status and background, Daniel might take a step back.
After all, the 'Alliance' were a known group by every planet.
Even though he was scared, he believed Daniel wouldn't dare to touch him, no matter how strong he is.
After all, a single man can't hope to shoulder everything.
At the same time, he was sweating profusely.
On the other hand, the other cultivators flanked him, their auras radiating strength and menace.
But Daniel could feel the shifting tides of energy around him.
The air buzzed with the chaotic essence of their intent, a primal fear masked under a shroud of bravado.
"Spare us?" Daniel replied, a smirk curving his lips. "You should be the ones concerned about your lives."
The Senior's eyes narrowed, disbelief mingling with anger.
"You think you can stand against us? We are the chosen of the Alliance, forged in battles across countless worlds! You are just a speck of dust in the vastness of our realm."
"Nobody is invincible except for me"
Daniel shot back, an intense aura of power radiating from him, swirling with dark energy that pulsed like a living thing.
"And I've harnessed forces you can only imagine."
Without another word, he unleashed the first waves of his Void power.
An orb of pulsing darkness formed at his fingertips, throbbing with a malevolence that set the very air vibrating.
The ground beneath him cracked, fissures spreading outward.
The energy within it felt alive, each pulsation whispering promises of annihilation.
"What is that?" one of the cultivators gasped, taking a step back as they sensed the overwhelming force that Daniel was willing to unleash.
Daniel hurled the orb forward, and in an instant, it reached the first wave of the cultivators.
The transformation was instantaneous and terrifying.
The orb expanded upon contact, engulfing them in a torrent of dark energy.
Their screams echoed in the still air as they were consumed, fading into nothingness.
Their very essence devoured, leaving behind only the faintest whisper of what once was.
"No! Stand your ground!" the Senior shouted, attempting to rally his remaining followers as fear began to take hold.
But terror thrummed in their bodies, and they faltered.
Daniel's laugh echoed eerily across the battlefield.
"You wanted to see power? Then you shall see it!"
He summoned forth another surge from his mana.
The Void energy coiled around him like a serpent ready to strike.
A serpent in the form of mana that had been tainted by the element of void twisted outward, seeking out the remaining cultivators.
They lashed out, wrapping around their limbs before they could react.
It threatened to consume entire souls.
"Spread out! Scatter!" one of them cried, but panic had taken root, and their movements became frantic.
The dark serpent reacted with deadly precision, ensnaring those who dared to flee.
One by one, they were pulled back into the void, their words dying on their lips as their entire being was absorbed.
"Senior! What do we do?" a terrified member begged, his eyes wide as he witnessed the unstoppable force of Daniel's power.
"Fight! Use everything you have!" the Senior commanded, though his voice trembled with uncertainty.
The remaining cultivators rallied, each summoning their strongest attacks.
Fiery blasts and surges of energy flickered through the air as they launched their techniques at Daniel.
But he stood, unyielding, the Void energy enveloping him, forming a shield that devoured their attacks before they could reach him.
Daniel extended his hand, and in a fluid, graceful motion, countered their onslaught.
An orb formed once again, this time crackling with more energy than ever before. "You wanted to test me? How about this?"
He thrust his palm forward, unleashing a surge of Void energy that exploded outward like a supernova.
The ground shuddered under the force, and a whirlwind of darkness and light enveloped the battlefield.
The cultivators barely had time to react.
The void surged forward, consuming their attacks in an instant and washing over them as it swept through the air.
Cries and shouts morphed into gasps as they were caught within its depths.
The Senior struggled against it. He reached deep within himself for strength, but the darkness wrapped around him, pulling him into its grasp.
"No! I am not done yet! I will not fall here!"
His voice grew hoarse, desperately clawing at the unyielding energy, but to no avail.
"It's over," Daniel said, his voice low and filled with a chilling certainty.
"You sought dominance over this world, but you've stepped into the realm of the truly powerful."
Just as Daniel began to raise his hand for the final blow, the Senior, with panic etched deep into his features, pulled something from within his robes.
A crystal โ faintly glowing, etched with runes too ancient for most mortals to rerecognise
"You're not the only one with cards to play!" he shouted, desperation laced in every word.
He crushed the crystal.
A sharp crack echoed like lightning, splitting the heavens.
A blinding flash of light surged forth, forcing even Daniel to shield his eyes for a brief moment.
From the heart of the crystal's energy, a rift tore open in the fabric of space โ jagged, chaotic, and pulsing with celestial force.
The air grew heavy, heavier than ever before.
Reality itself bent and groaned as something ancient and incomprehensibly powerful stepped through the breach.
A presence descended upon the battlefield.
Clad in ethereal robes that shimmered like a thousand galaxies, the being stood effortlessly above the ground, eyes glowing with the wisdom โ and wrath โ of countless millennia.
The cultivators who remained instantly dropped to their knees, their auras recoiling in submission.
Even the Senior, though trembling, stood with newfound arrogance.
"Behold... an Immortal. A true Divine Rank from the Alliance."
The Immortal's gaze turned slowly toward Daniel.
The senior laughed as though victory was within his hands, and he believed arrogantly that Daniel couldn't face the Immortal.
After all, he had never heard of any immortals being defeated.
Time seemed to halt under that stare.
"You...why did you summon me...? Wasn't this planet supposed to be conquered? If there's no explanation on why I was summoned, you will face the consequences!"
The immortal declared.
"F-Forgive me, Master, b-but that mortal has strange powers! Most of our cultivators have died under his hands!" The senior pointed towards Daniel.
The Immortal observed his surroundings and soon, he narrowed his eyes.
He sensed a strange, dangerous and dominant energy within the atmosphere.
"No wonder you guys are not his match. He is leagues above you"
"You," the Immortal said, voice resonating like the tolling of a divine bell. "You are the one who dares challenge the decree of fate?"
Daniel did not flinch.
Though the pressure was immense, crushing even the air around him, it was nothing for him.
"You're strong," he admitted, his voice calm, unwavering. "But not above consequences."
"Aren't you afraid of the 'Punishment' if a being like you appears on lower lower-level world?" Daniel questioned with a smile.
"Hmm? So you do know about that, but even with that, it won't stop me from killing you, and the consequences are not even worth mentioning," The immortal replied.
The Immortal's eyes narrowed, observing Daniel with curiosity more than contempt. "But you...you wield the Voidโฆ not corrupted, but mastered. How?"
Daniel's smirk returned. "Well, time to find out"
The cultivators looked between the two in disbelief.
"Why question when the answer is already obvious?" the Immortal said simply.
"Then try," Daniel challenged.
