Apocalypse: Hero of Potato Fields-Chapter 338 - 333 Martial Arts Sect_2
"That’s impossible! How could such a small Ark have so many Coins?!"
"It doesn’t matter, have the troops ready... a wave of attack will arrive soon."
The High Priest shook his head, dressed in a gold garment that resembled a skirt.
He was scared, but the clansmen had also cleared a Moving Island... but that was centuries ago.
"The Celestial Sect is ready for battle!" the old monkey in blue declared loudly.
"The Fire Sect is also ready!" added another old monkey dressed in red.
"The Sword Sect is ready at any time!" said a middle-aged male creature in black Armor.
"The Five Elements Sect will be ready in ten minutes..." an elder in a multi-colored skirt-like garment said with an awkward smile.
"The Plain Clan is ready!"
"The Weapon Maker Clan is also ready!"
"The Red Flower Clan is ready, too," said a young female with a veiled face.
Several males following her also stated their readiness to dispatch troops into battle.
"There’s not much time left, I can feel them. They’ve reached our Ark, please protect the clansmen!"
The High Priest pleaded, kneeling down.
The leaders of various sects and clans shot off in all directions like arrows.
They ran across the rooftops like the Wind, occasionally leaping over thirty meters in a single bound.
Soon, the entire city came alive, armed and ready to face a great war.
This city was nestled between four large mountains.
On the north, south, east, and west, four city walls encircled it.
Each wall was built on an insurmountable mountain, steep and tall, with only Water Crane Race able to hope to climb them.
The enemy attacked from the north, so the armies assembled there, but the other walls remained Guarded as well.
The Zombie Overlord is dangerous, and unusually cunning.
The Water Crane Race’s Martial Arts Sects were located within the mountains.
Training in one of these sects was an unparalleled honor and a source of pride.
Around the northern foothills was a vast training ground.
Further up, at about 1500 meters, there was a complex of buildings.
Another complex lay half a kilometer up the mountain, and another on the peak well above a kilometer in elevation.
The higher the students trained on the mountain, the higher their Level.
A sound of gongs echoed through the Ark, as students of Wind Sect descended the mountain like fallen leaves.
As their name suggested, they arrived at the northern wall earlier than members from other sects.
Five thousand two hundred students of various ages wore loose blue clothing, allowing them great freedom of movement.
"Supreme Mentor!" a Warrior in blue clothing shouted, running from the city.
He ran faster than the Wind!
"The troops aren’t in position, and the enemy is almost here!"
"Then... it seems that Wind Sect must display its power. Am I right, students?" the elderly man shouted.
"Yes, teacher!" the students roared in unison.
Most of them were still young, but their eyes shone with fervor.
This battle was their chance to become stronger, a chance to prove their talents and Skills.
And most importantly, they were defending their homeland!
About half of the students had light brown fur, while a fifth had black fur, and the rest ranged from red to white.
Five thousand students charged north like a hurricane...
Then they saw the throngs of undead.
As usual, the first wave consisted of Level 1 Zombies, whose mission was to deplete the enemy’s Physical Strength before the main Zombie army attacked.
The Water Crane Race knew this strategy because their ancestors had handed this knowledge down to them.
"They outnumber us, but we are stronger! Do not fear their bites! The pills will protect us! Kill them and prove the greatness of our Sect!"
The old monkey roared, swallowing a pill-shaped ball and charging at the Zombie horde.
The students followed suit.
"Wind Dragon Strike!" the Supreme Mentor shouted, kicking into the Air.
Dozens of Air blades sliced through the walking dead, chopping off dozens of Zombie heads, but the horde trampled over the fallen without noticing.
Regardless of whether you were alive, dead, injured, or simply unfortunate enough to fall.
Once you fell to the ground, you were trampled!
"Ten Wind Fist!" a black-furred elder Water Crane shouted.
He punched, and a gust of Wind surged from his fist, blowing countless Zombies dozens of meters into the Air.
"Seems like your fist hasn’t lost its old strength," the gray-furred monkey chuckled.
"I’ve lived longer than you! Before you stands the next Supreme Mentor! Watch as I Level up, hahaha!"
The black-furred Water Crane laughed heartily and charged into the Zombie horde.
"Five-Fist Hurricane!" the old monkey unleashed five heavy strikes, scattering about a hundred Zombies.
Other teachers immediately entered the battle, followed by senior students, and then junior students.
They all shouted the names of their moves to warn their peers, as most moves attacked multiple enemies simultaneously and were likely to cause collateral Damage.
The undead lost thousands of combat units every second, yet they knew no fear.
The order they received was to move forward and kill any living creature they saw.
Senior students used a variety of moves, each strike killing hordes of Zombies, but junior students had a harder time.
Their Skill Levels were only at Level 1, unable to use such powerful moves, but they could still shatter Zombies’ heads, chests, and limbs with Wind-powered punches and kicks.
"Ah!" a young, red-brown-furred Water Crane cried out.
He was momentarily distracted, grabbed by a Zombie, and it was about to take a big bite out of his neck.
"Die!" another child shouted, punching through the Zombie’s skull.
Blood, brains, and fragments of bone splattered everywhere.
"Are you okay, brother?" the larger red-furred Water Crane beat back the attacks of two more Zombies.
"I’m fine, thank you..." The child nodded and continued fighting other Zombies.
Senior students and teachers fought on the front lines, holding off the majority of the enemy’s forces.
While junior students only took on the undead that managed to break through the lines.
"Are you injured?"
"It bit me..."
"You took the pill, right?"
"Yes, brother..." The child said, and then suddenly fell silent.
A moment later, he collapsed to the ground.
"What’s wrong, brother?! Brother!" The red-furred Water Crane shouted, kicking back three Zombies.
He ran to his brother’s side, starting to examine the wound.
But then the fallen Crane suddenly opened his eyes and bit at his unprepared brother’s neck.
"Ahhh! Brother! How could this happen!" The child clutched his neck, yelling as he leapt back.
His brother had already transformed into a Zombie!
