Apocalypse: Hero of Potato Fields-Chapter 388 - 371: Horu Aliens
In the small town.
Two men are engaged in a serious conversation inside a windowless, locked office.
A man dressed in a dark red jumpsuit is reporting the situation to another man in a white jumpsuit.
But in reality, the man in white is not present; the report is conducted through a high-tech projection similar to holographic display.
"So, are they really them?!" The person in the projection asks with a frown.
"Their equipment is very similar, but it appears more advanced than those aliens.
Their weapons too, but their two-wheeled vehicles are identical."
"What do you think?" 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
"They're not the aliens who attacked us, nor are they Tilian people. I believe the Archbishop of the Rusted Fortress's message should explain everything."
"As long as the information is genuine, and they truly are as they claim."
The person in the projection points out, "That card might not be information but a virus that could cripple our defense system."
"We've already thought of that. The information will be played in a shielded room. This way the virus won't have a chance to connect to our network."
"Good, I look forward to your report." The man in white says, and the projection is turned off.
As soon as the conversation ends, the building in the surface town immediately becomes busy.
Many vehicles arrive, and more than twenty half-mechanical people get off, carrying boxes and various equipment.
Just ten minutes later, the message from the Archbishop of the Rusted Fortress is played in a completely isolated room.
"So, he's really an alien... but a good alien..."
The man in red clothing turns off the archbishop's message, sits down in an armchair, and comfortably leans back.
His artificial brain is furiously analyzing the vast amount of information. A minute later, he stands up.
After leaving the room, he returns to the room with the projection, where another serious conversation soon begins.
"So, he really is that person... and the world is on the brink of destruction..." The man in white murmurs, completely stunned.
"So, isolating ourselves was a mistake, we ultimately cannot survive the impending disaster..."
"I'm afraid so."
"What do you think?"
"We need to go to the surface. As for the alien...
He can prove he's on our side by destroying that camp..."
The man in red clothing gives a sly smile.
"Hmm... that's an interesting idea. But why would he help us?"
"The archbishop said that the alien needs a lot of Coins, and he's willing to exchange fuel and many other things for Coins.
We can give him money and make the deal with him."
"Let's do it." The man in white pauses briefly, "Send an observer to confirm those aliens have turned against each other."
"I'll go personally."
"Good, keep me updated." The man in white responds. The projection disappears.

"Oh, why are they so damn slow?!" Lin Yi grumbles.
He sits comfortably in a tent, passing the time by checking everyone's status.
Rein is still in the stone coffin, Chen Youyou is scolding someone for poor work, and Orianna... well, she's become taller and slimmer.
He shifts his attention to the outpost by the desert, where the Weapon Smiths are assembling new Power Armor.
In a day or two, all the civilian fighters should be fully equipped!
The quality of these armors isn't top-notch, but they can definitely protect against small fry. They might even withstand a round from an assault rifle.
Next, Lin Yi's gaze falls on the red-haired twins. They're both seated at a table, making phone calls, managing employees, and assigning new tasks.
The Shelter now has a decent local wireless network; programmers even created a simple phone app with its own server, so communication is not a problem anymore.
These two girls make calls, record something on the computer, and then dial the next number.
It looks like a boring job, so Lin Yi decides to check on his soldiers.
Solomon has been discharged from the hospital and is now inspecting two scavenger teams that protected the survivors in Hanover.
The scavengers number 900, all are Professionals.
The lowest level among them is Level 5, with two team leaders reaching Level 11.
The first person is called "Wolf," and the other is called "Shark."
The scavengers give them a good rating, and their stories have been verified by the Mind Readers.
The Shelter currently has four such Mind Readers.
Two of them were detectives, one was a psychologist, and another was a former police officer, all with Mind Reading Skills at Level 3.
These former scavengers demonstrated their Skills, teamwork abilities, and physical fitness, but Solomon and other officers just shook their heads.
After all, these people are only scavengers, lacking military training. Their physical condition is poor, and their Skills... are inconsistent.
Almost two-thirds of the scavengers plan to take Stat Reset Potion and change their Skills, but this time they will ensure the new Skills match their Attributes.
If their attributes are not good, they will be arranged to become gunmen. If their attributes are decent, they will be given a suitable job.
People with high strength and endurance will become melee warriors, those with high agility will become archers, those with good magic power will become mages, and so on.
The Arkon knights are practicing using guns at the nearby shooting range. Skills are important, but practice is also necessary.
Even with the "Gunman" skills, the knights' shooting is not good because they are afraid of their weapons.
They grew up in a medieval environment, so it's hard to master modern technology and complex equipment.
Moreover, they are required to learn these in a very short time.
Next, Lin Yi looked at the vampire's Ark.
The ruins are being recycled, crops are being irrigated with spring water, and the Faru race's natural mage is strengthening it, trying to make the wheat grow faster.
"They are back, boss." Annie's voice sounded in Lin Yi's ear.
"Got it." Anyway, his inspection was already finished, so Lin Yi put on his helmet and walked out of the tent.
The jeep is back, but this time there's only a driver and the negotiation representative in the dark red coverall.
"Sorry to keep you waiting." The half-mechanical person said, walking towards Lin Yi.
"We have checked the information you gave us, however... we have been attacked multiple times by the aliens called Horu people you mentioned.
We couldn't help but notice that your equipment and vehicles are very similar to theirs.
To prove that you're not with them, we want to hire you to destroy a Horu people camp that has been rampaging in this area."
"Horu people, huh? Interesting... what have they done?"
"Robbery of caravans and camps."
"Alright, how many of them are there, and where is their camp?"
"About three hundred people. We tried to capture them, but they are formidable and very fast..."
The negotiation representative answered while carefully analyzing the other's reaction, he couldn't see the other's face, but he paid attention to all of the other's gestures and body language.
"Very fast, huh? That's great." Lin Yi murmured, "How much are you offering?"
"Well... our resources are very limited, so we can only offer you three million Coins..."
"Are you kidding?"
"Sorry, but we are really lacking Coins... can we offer you something else?"
"Three million Coins and five hundred level 3 Energy Cores." Lin Yi grinned.
Honestly, even for free, he would go and destroy those aliens.
Because their loot is too valuable!
And they might be in a bad situation now as they have no way to return to their planet.
"That's too much..." The negotiation representative gasped, "How about two hundred Energy Cores?"
Level 3 Energy Cores are dropped from spider-type and other giant mutant creatures! They have powerful long-range weapons and are extremely dangerous.
"Two hundred fifty." Lin Yi haggled.
"...Alright, it's a deal." The negotiation representative reluctantly agreed.
"Now return the Archbishop's information to me, and send over all the information you have." Lin Yi said, extending his hand.
"Uh... of course." The negotiation representative handed the information to Lin Yi, then fetched some documents and photos from his car.
"Let's go!" Lin Yi quickly browsed the documents, then transmitted them to the shelter, and summoned his "Dagger" car.
"Get in." Lin Yi saw the negotiation representative's confused face and snorted.
"Leaving now? What about your troops?" The half-mechanical person asked.
Lin Yi just waved his hand, and the army along with the tent disappeared.
If the negotiation representative wasn't wearing a helmet, Lin Yi could see the fear on his face.
If this person becomes their enemy and attacks this town in the future, their defense would be useless against him.
"Uh... okay, okay..."
The "Dagger" car roared across the wasteland.
Melanie now had the negotiation representative's map, directing the boss, while the military headquarters was studying the intelligence and formulating an attack plan.
The camp was fifty kilometers away, taking only about twenty minutes to reach.
The alien camp was located in an abandoned manufacturing center, surrounded by an endless wasteland with excellent visibility.
So it's impossible to approach without being discovered.
And to surround this building complex would require a large number of troops, which is the only reason the Horu people haven't been eradicated yet.
"So... we're just driving straight over to find them? Just the two of us?!" The shocked negotiation representative asked, he hadn't even introduced himself yet.
"Of course." Lin Yi calmly replied, and drove the car directly into the enemy lair.
"What about the scouting? The preparation?"
"Why bother?"
Lin Yi snorted, but the negotiation representative started to panic—he didn't want to die today!
Meanwhile, the shelter's army had prepared for battle, and the "Celestial Eye" was ready to start gathering intelligence...
