Apocalypse: My Sweetie Is Tough but Cute-Chapter 78 - 0 Strange Things Happen in Space
Chapter 78 -078 Strange Things Happen in Space
In the square, silence reigned, and the night wind was bitterly cold.
Su Shu silently waved to Xiao’ai, who, understanding her intentions, came over with her little backpack and her dirty Dinosaur King in tow.
The night was too cold, and she only felt a trace of warmth when hugging Xiao’ai.
The villagers were still discussing what to do, but Su Shu suddenly didn’t want to listen anymore. She opened the car door, got in with Xiao’ai, and in the back seat lay Shuanzi’s wife, still in a difficult position. Su Shu touched her neck, thankful her heartbeat was still there. Seeing her actions, the village doctor who stood outside the car opened the rear door to check, frowned, closed the door, and went out to talk to Old Peng.
Su Shu couldn’t hear what they were discussing; she just knew that things looked grim for Shuanzi’s wife behind her.
She lowered her head and stroked Xiao’ai’s soft hair while Xiao’ai looked up at her from her embrace, her eyes as mesmerizing as the deep sea.
...
Suddenly, Su Shu thought of a place where she might be able to enter the space unseen.
Soon, Su Shu found an undamaged restroom by claiming physical discomfort.
With the door properly closed, outsiders wouldn’t casually come looking for her, and just a few minutes would suffice. Although the location wasn’t ideal, it was the only place to remain unseen for the moment, less worrying than being around others like Old Peng and Sister Feng.
With just a thought, Su Shu entered the space.
She lit the lanterns in the small courtyard of the space, illuminating it brightly. Upon entering, she immediately saw the Little Peach Tree she had accidentally uprooted, lying pitifully as if it were a wronged bride.
Unfortunately, Su Shu didn’t have time to tend to it as she was in a hurry to find something.
She searched inside and out, at least three or four times, but found nothing.
Apart from the materials she had purchased, the space had nothing that seemed like it could save someone, which was somewhat disheartening for Su Shu.
The atmosphere in the space seemed brighter than the last time she was there, and the ground around the house seemed much wider. Standing in the courtyard with her arms crossed, she looked around.
As she surveyed the area, her gaze fell on a water well in the corner of the courtyard.
She remembered reading in space-themed novels that sometimes certain waters were special. Could the water in this well in her space have some miraculous effect?

She drew a bucket and poured a cup to taste it, to see if it had any effect, but after a while, she felt no change. She had drunk from this well before and hadn’t found anything special about it; it seemed no different from ordinary drinking water.
She had come hoping for a solution, but ended up empty-handed, which, needless to say, left Su Shu feeling terrible.
After drinking a few sips, she carelessly tossed the remaining water aside—it landed at the base of the small peach tree.
Suddenly, something surprising happened.
The water Su Shu had spilled was rapidly absorbed by the roots of the peach tree, leaving not a trace on the ground.
Holding the cup, Su Shu froze for a moment, then it dawned on her what she had just seen. Unconvinced, she stepped forward to check, and indeed, the spilled water was completely absorbed by the tree. Not only that, but she noticed that at the root base, where some parts had been torn, those wounds seemed to be slowly healing.
She wasn’t sure if it was her imagination, but it felt like one or two of the seven fruits on the tree seemed a bit redder than before.
