Chapter 40: Chapter 40 - Buying new thing

Dante woke up with a runny nose. He washed his face and decided to stay inside his house for a moment. He asked for a few coffees from Thomas and sat in the living room.

He warped himself with a blanket and slipped in a warm coffee. Beside him was Thomas doing some exercises.

Dante glanced at the huge man and said, "You sure can work your body."

Thomas smiled and continued to do push ups. After he finished the set, he stood up and wiped the sweat with a white cloth.

"It is a habit." Thomas said.

Dante nodded and continued to daze at the window. Times passed fast while he was playing with his mana.

He tried to change the light ball spell he made. The change was minimal but hard to make. He wanted to create a different color light ball other than white.

After eating lunch with Thomas, Julius came down from upstairs, rubbing his eyes.

"Morning. What are you eating in the morning?" Julius asked, taken back by the foods on the table.

"It is always midday." Dante said.

"Really?" Julius yawned. "Seriously, we need a clock."

"Yeah. Do you guys find any clocks or watches from the system shop?" Thomas asked.

Dante shook his head. "Nah. My system is messed up."

Dante got up from the chair and wore the cloak hanging on the wall. He placed the two axes on his belt and reminded himself to buy a new weapon.

He said goodbye to his two friends and left the house.

His goal was to go to the same place he was training. As he arrived he noticed that the tree he crushed on was starting to heal.

He went and touched the tree, impressed by this. When he first arrived at the tutorial, the trees were not like this at all.

"So this is the effect of mana. Fascinating." He muttered and placed the axes on the ground, stretching his legs.

He warmed up his body with a few exercises. He then started using Dash.

He controlled the surge of mana coming from his legs to the entire body. After that, he released it.

His body moved at a speed incomparable to the one before. He stopped immediately when he was about to collide with the tree again.

"Ouch."

He rubbed his forehead and let out a sigh.

Regular Dash was easy to control because it just increased the strength and speed to his legs.

He repeated this process many times and the notification came.

[Detecting Evolution of the skill, Dash.]

[Swift Rush gained.]

Dante opened his status.

Name- Dante

Tier- Tier 2 human.

Bloodline- Sage beyond the end.

Skill-

External eye of the hunter (Grade-8)

Mana compression (Grade-2)

Zero-Point destruction (Grade-8)

Regenerative Heal ( Grade-2)

Swift Rush ( Grade -2 )

Reaper of Nyrax ( Beginner.)

A smile formed on his face when he saw all his Grade 1 skills upgraded.

Another notification appeared, overlapping the status. He closed the status window and read it.

[One of the Requirements for Tier 3 complete.]

Dante was a bit taken by this. There were no such things as requirements in the manual. The manual only said ,your body must be compacted with mana at the peak level.

"This is new." He let out a sigh. "The system is useless. I don’t have a food session and now to advance to Tier 3 I need to fulfill unknown requirements. Seriously, I bet the others have a leveling system."

He decided to ignore this for now as his mana level was only at the medium state.

He closed his eyes and drew in mana in the air to his core. After absorbing a few mana, he activated his new skill.

Instantly, he felt a surge of mana around his body. He took a fighting stance and released the surge.

His hands blurred and he found his arm extending. Then came a booming sound, air cracked and released pressure.

Dante’s eyes widened in surprise. He didn’t know speed could increase that much power in his punch.

He looked at his hand and smiled. He could control the surge more perfectly, he could use this skill in everything, not just in fighting.

That was his goal. To use his skill in everyday life.

He believed that using the skill on fighting was wasteful. After all, life is not just about fighting.

After experimenting with the new skill, he stopped.

He sat down under the tree and took a look at his axe.

He observed the runes and tried to imitate them. But unlike the blue crystal, it was more complex and he gave up after a while.

He opened the system shop and scrolled through the artifact list.

He was tempted to buy the sword but seeing Julius’s training he gave up. He wouldn’t reach that level of technique with the sword. It was not a matter of talent.

Dante believed that talent was not the end to all means. Sure, you could advance faster than your peers but nothing beats hard work.

Julius started with not knowing anything about the sword.

Dante admitted he had talent hiding somewhere but because of his hard work that his sword became fluid.

Because of that, he didn’t choose the sword. The sword required many things.

Axe was a good weapon for him because he knew how to use it due to his experience with the forest.

But now that he had the Reaper skill, the axe became worthless in a sense that the axe dealt a lot of damage.

Reaper skill allowed him to be superior in the prolonged fight.

Dante stopped scrolling when he saw a weapon.

It was a cane. From a general look at the artifact, it seemed to be made from some kind of wood and metal.

He saw three runes added in the description.

He concentrated on the cane and had to pay 500 paints to check out the cane’s runes.

He cursed and gave the points. He had about 20k points left.

[First rune- Rune of resonance.]

[Second rune- Rune of self repair.]

[Third rune- Rune of extension.]

Dante nodded and decided to buy it.

Immediately about 12k points from his wallet was taken out.

A black cane materialized in front of him.

He grabbed it.

The cane was light.

He swung it in the air and checked out the Rune of extension. The tip of the cane extended. It was fast, in an instant, it extended to at least 7 meters in length.

He nodded and returned the cane to the original state.

He walked to the tree and smacked it with the cane, he activated the rune of resonance. There was nothing. It didn’t add more damage.

He frowned and shook the cane, trying to see if it made a mistake.

He used his eyes and looked inside the cane more intensely.

"Hmm."

The rune was activated and still running. He placed the cane on the ground and a shock wave released from him.

He smiled, knowing what the rune of resonance was.

It stored the energy he used to attack.

He experimented again. He clubbed at the tree, cracking the entire trunk.

He was done yet, he added mana into the attacks and smacked until the tree fell down.

After that, he stopped and calmed himself.

It felt rather good, smacking some stuff. Must be a man thing.

He placed the bottom tip to the ground and released the rune. The blast this time was much stronger than the previous one.

The cane replicated the force he made and stored inside. And released it as a blast around him.

He didn’t know the upper limit but looking at the rune, it didn’t even reach 1 percent.

His head immediately straightened as his eyes picked up a few people entering into his range. He smiled.

"So it is time."
