"Who here knows how to drive a bus?" Chu Miao turned to the people who had loaded their belongings and stood outside the bus.

The last guy to arrive volunteered.

"I was a school bus driver before, so my driving skills are decent." He was a polite guy and judging by how he treated his wife and daughter, a committed one too.

"Alright, follow my car closely. I hope you have been informed that we are going to a different environment. It is also different from a regular safe base and everyone is expected to contribute to make the place thrive.

But you are also expected to keep everything that goes inside the place a secret to protect those living there, that includes your family now.

Does anyone have any objections?" Chu Miao preferred to be straightforward. This way, there will be fewer conflicts later.

"No objections." Even though they didn’t understand the need for such a level of secrecy, they still agreed since it was meant to protect their family members.

"Alright then, let’s get moving." Chu Miao ordered and walked towards her car.

She was just about to climb inside with Feng Tu on the other side when a girl she remembered from the last time she met Feng Tu came running towards them panting heavily.

"Feng Tu, what is the meaning of this? Why are you informing everyone from our team to leave but I was excluded?" The girl turned out to be Jiang Xixi.

She was an entitled bitch who tended to think that things should always go her way and she was entitled to a princess treatment even when she betrayed her teammates.

When that gang was surveying a place to take root, they had actually not chosen that area at first but had wanted to move forward.

However, it was Jiang Xixi who invited them to the community with the promise of getting more supplies paid as protection fee because her team had people who could collect a lot of supplies each time.

The reason she had sold her companions out was simply because Feng Tu had given the other three members of the team guns but she was left out.

She had already been acting badly which caused Feng Tu to have a negative view of her, thus, refusing to give her the gun. Who would have thought that she would go as far as to sell everyone in the community out of spite.

She had also sought to seek protection and a small cut of the protective fee the gang got.

Of course, Monkey and his gang weren’t stupid to pass up a piece of meat offered so readily. Therefore, they had moved into the community and even forbade those living there from going to the safe base.

Although some of them still left as they pretended to be going to search for supplies and never came back.

Luckily, Feng Tu had guns and so did her teammates who deterred the gang from exploiting them.

They had also learned to harden their hearts and kill humans if the situation called for it.

Because of that, the gang did not dare to move against them. The teammates had also distanced themselves from Jiang Xixi.

In fact, in the last two supply runs they had not included her and had gone as a group of four.

Now seeing her trying to count herself as a part of the team, it was really astonishing.

Feng Tu just looked at the panting Jiang Xixi and her expression morphed into one that was filled with contempt, an expression one would not have seen on her face before.

However, after what Jiang Xixi had done, no one would want to entertain her nonsense.

"From the moment you betrayed us for your own interests, we were no longer a team. So, there is no need to pretend to be one now." Feng Tu had no time to waste with her and turned to her teammates.

"Let’s get going, don’t make Miaomiao wait." She had somehow become the leader of the team ever since she distributed the guns and gave the teammates a kilogram of meat from the stash Chu Miao had put in the cooler box.

Now, her word was as useful as an imperial edict in ancient times.

With that said, she didn’t even look at the troublemaker anymore and followed her friend into the car.

The others also got into the bus and had their families climb inside as well.

The volunteer driver took the wheel and as soon as Chu Miao fired up her engine, the bus followed suit.

At the gate of the community, the gang leader and Monkey were still there and as soon as they saw the Humvee at the front , they opened the gates wide.

Thus, the two vehicles left the community under the watch of the many remaining residents of the community who had come out of their buildings to watch the commotion.

Many wished they could follow them even if they didn’t know what was happening or where they were going.

However, seeing how Jiang Xixi had been snubbed, no one dared to raise the suggestion.

The cars followed the same road Chu Miao had used to come to the community and this time she wasn’t in a hurry.

She wanted to test the prowess of Feng Tu’s team in killing zombies. Especially since she had discovered that the zombies had somehow evolved in the time she and her comrades had been in the ancient battlefield.

She had noticed the difference on her way to Feng Tu’s place and realized that the zombies seemed to have developed intelligence.

They knew how to ambush humans unlike before when they just followed the scent of living beings and attacked like mindless flesh-eating machines without thoughts.

Just as she was thinking about it, suddenly a horde of zombies rushed onto the road from both sides and surrounded the two cars.

I know I haven’t been updating as much as you may like this month but remember the national examination I told you my son is about to do? It’s really close and honestly, I think I am more nervous than he is and it’s really interfering with my creation of the story.
