Apocalypse with my SSS Harem Beauties-Chapter 176: Realization
Jack wanted to stop everything. For a split second, a strange thought rose in his mind. He wanted to undo this moment and reset the situation somehow and return to the point before the first attack had been launched. Just like what he did with the armored warriors before.
But a second later the thought collapsed.
They were not fighting dungeon monsters.
These were humans. Another group that had entered the dungeon from a different rift. There was no reset for something like this.
The moment they chose to attack, the battle had already begun. And now they were trapped inside it.
Jack forced himself to look around the battlefield.
It didn’t look good.
Myles’ group moved across the grass with terrifying aggression. Their movements were sharp and controlled. Their attacks were deliberate. Every skill they used carried lethal intent.
They didn’t hesitate and didn’t panic.
They kept pressing forward and cutting through Jack’s formation.
More of his people died already.
Jack’s eyes darted across the battlefield as he tried to understand what was happening.
"How strong are they...?"
The question burned in his mind. What level were they? What kind of experience did they have?
Nothing about them looked like ordinary survivors.
Another scream echoed across the battlefield.
One of his men collapsed after an Ether bullet punched through his ribs.
Jack’s stomach tightened.
Their numbers were shrinking.
This couldn’t continue.
If this kept going, all of his men would die.
"STOP IT!" Jack shouted.
But the battlefield had already turned chaotic. The clash of weapons, the explosions of Ether, and the cries of the wounded drowned out his voice completely.
No one heard him.
Then Jack suddenly felt danger.
A sharp chill ran down his spine.
His head snapped forward.
Myles was coming straight toward him.
The young man moved low across the ground like a hunting predator. His body leaned forward and both blades were held at his sides.
Clear killing intent radiated from him.
One moment Myles was several meters away.
The next moment he was already in front of Jack.
Jack’s eyes widened.
CLANG!
Myles’ Fangblade short sword slashed toward him.
Jack barely managed to raise his own sword in time. The blades collided violently and the impact traveled through his arms.
His hands shook from the force.
Myles’ eyes locked onto him. Cold, and focused. Filled with killing intent.
Myles attacked again. Two of his blades flashed through the air as the two exchanged blows in rapid succession.
But the difference between them quickly became clear.
Myles kept pushing forward relentlessly.nSlash after slash came without pause.
Jack tried to hold his ground, but every attack forced him a step backward. His arms trembled as he struggled to block the attacks.
He couldn’t find a chance to retaliate. Not even once.
At that moment Jack realized the truth. He was going to die.
"I surrender!" Jack shouted desperately.
Myles frowned when he heard the words. For a brief moment his movements hesitated.
But he didn’t stop attacking. He knows that enemies often begged for surrender once they realized they were losing. Myles had seen that already.
That alone wasn’t enough reason to let someone live.
Still... information could be useful. Who were these people? Where had they entered from?
If there was another entrance to the dungeon, that knowledge mattered.
But before asking anything, he had to subdue him first.
Myles pressed forward again.
CLANG!
CLANG!
Jack struggled to block the attacks, but his defense was already collapsing.
Then Myles suddenly changed his angle.
His blade moved faster.
CRACK!
Jack screamed as Myles’ strike shattered the arm holding his sword.
The weapon slipped from his fingers and fell to the grass.
Before Jack could react, Myles’ second blade flashed downward.
The slash cut into Jack’s leg.
His knee buckled instantly and he collapsed to the ground.
Myles stepped forward and pressed the tip of his short sword against Jack’s throat.
The cold steel touched his skin.
Jack froze.
Myles looked down at him.
"Where did you come from?" he asked.
Jack stared at Myles. Up close, he could see the man’s eyes clearly now. Cold, sharp, and completely serious.
There was no hesitation in them. No sign that Myles was bluffing or trying to scare him. The blade resting against his throat proved that clearly enough.
If Jack made the wrong move, his head would roll across the grass in the next second.
Jack swallowed hard.
It was better to answer quickly if he still wanted to live.
"P-please..." Jack said, his voice shaking. "Let my people live."
Myles’ expression didn’t change.
"You’re not in a position to demand anything," he replied flatly.
The words struck Jack harder than any blow.
He clenched his jaw. His body trembled from fear and pain. Sweat ran down his temple as he lay on the ground with a blade pressed against his throat.
Around them, the battle still raged.
Steel clashed. Ether burst across the field. Screams echoed through the grass as more of his people fell.
Jack could hear them dying. His chest tightened.
The faster he gave Myles what he wanted, the faster this fight might stop. Hopefully.
"I-I came from the north side..." Jack said quickly, his words stumbling over each other. "The north side of the high-level zone."
Myles narrowed his eyes slightly but didn’t interrupt.
Jack continued.
"I’m part of a group... led by a man named Red."
Myles frowned.
Red.
The name immediately triggered recognition in his mind.
So this man belonged to Red’s group.
That realization made the situation far more interesting.
If Jack really came from Red’s faction, then he could become a valuable source of information.
Information about them could be extremely useful if they wanted to take them down.
Myles lifted his head and looked across the battlefield.
"Stop attacking!" he shouted.
His voice carried sharply across the field.
Ethan heard him immediately.
He turned his head and quickly raised his voice.
"Stop! Myles says stop attacking!"
He relayed the command to the others who were still fighting.
Or more precisely... Still killing.
Victor’s cleaver was already mid-swing when he heard the shout. The massive blade stopped just before it could split his opponent in half.
George stepped back as well, lowering his hammer slightly.
Samantha loosened the tension on her bowstring.
One by one, Myles’ companions halted their attacks.
A few seconds later, the battlefield finally grew quiet.
The chaotic sounds of combat faded.
What remained was the aftermath.
Bodies lay scattered across the grass. Several members of Jack’s group were already dead. Others knelt on the ground, injured and terrified, staring at Myles’ group with pale faces.
Jack slowly turned his head and looked at the devastation.
His chest tightened again. In only a short time, his group had been nearly wiped out.
