Chapter 179: Advantage

Red’s body continued to convulse on the ground, violent tremors running through his limbs as foam gathered at the corner of his mouth.

Outside the room, the heavy thud of his fall did not go unnoticed.

Peter had been nearby when the noise echoed through the tent. At first he thought Red had simply knocked something over, but the strange choking sounds that followed immediately made his stomach tighten.

He pushed the entrance flap aside and stepped inside.

The moment his eyes landed on Red, his face drained of color.

Red lay on the dirt floor, his entire body jerking violently. His muscles spasmed as if invisible strings were pulling them in different directions. Foam bubbled at his mouth while his eyes rolled upward.

"What the hell—?!"

Peter rushed forward without hesitation.

He dropped to his knees beside Red and grabbed his shoulders, trying to steady the violently shaking body.

"Red! Red!"

He shook him carefully, panic rising in his chest.

"Red, can you hear me?! What happened to you?!"

Red gave no response.

His body continued to seize uncontrollably. His arms jerked. His legs kicked against the ground. The choking sound from his throat only grew worse.

Peter’s heart began pounding.

He had no idea what was happening.

Poison? A curse? Some kind of disease?

"I—damn it!"

Peter looked toward the entrance.

"I’ll get a healer!"

He began to stand.

But before he could take a step, a hand suddenly clamped around his wrist.

Peter froze.

His head snapped back down.

Red’s fingers were gripping him tightly.

The convulsions had stopped.

Red slowly wiped the foam from his mouth with the back of his hand. His breathing was still rough as he pushed himself up from the floor.

A low groan escaped him as he sat upright.

"Don’t need it," Red muttered hoarsely. "I’m... I think I’m fine."

Peter stared at him, still tense.

"You were just—"

His words cut off when he saw Red’s expression.

A smile slowly spread across Red’s face.

It was not a normal smile.

Something about it felt wrong.

There was a quiet darkness behind it, an unsettling confidence that made Peter’s skin crawl without him understanding why.

A faint ominous feeling settled in his chest.

And more than that...

Something about Red felt different.

Peter couldn’t explain it, but the man sitting in front of him no longer felt quite the same as the Red he had known moments ago.

Peter frowned deeply.

"What happened to you?" he asked.

Red snorted softly.

"You wouldn’t understand."

Peter’s frown deepened.

"What do you mean I wouldn’t—"

"Even if I tried to explain it," Red interrupted casually, "you wouldn’t be able to comprehend it."

Peter stared at him in confusion.

Red leaned back slightly, stretching his neck as if trying to loosen stiff muscles.

The strange smile still lingered on his face.

Then he chuckled quietly.

"Everything from now on..." Red said slowly. "...is going to become a lot more interesting."

Inside the trial dungeon, the atmosphere around Myles and his group had turned heavy.

They had gathered in a loose circle not far from where Jack sat. The man was positioned several meters away, his hands tied and his back leaning against a rough rock among the grass hill. His eyes moved carefully between them as if trying to read their thoughts.

Myles and the others stood close together with tight expressions.

The information Jack had given them was far more detailed than anything Michael had shared earlier.

Too detailed.

And one particular revelation had shaken them more than anything else.

Among Michael’s group... There was a spy.

Someone inside the camp had been secretly reporting everything to Red.

For several minutes no one spoke after that. The realization hung heavily in the air.

Victor was the first to break the silence.

"This is fucked up," he muttered grimly. He rubbed his forehead as frustration crept into his voice. "Michael thought he had a solid plan. Building strength slowly with the Soul Forge Altar, preparing to raid Red’s camp once everyone was ready."

Victor shook his head. "But if there’s a spy among them, all that preparation could already be useless."

Ethan crossed his arms, his brows furrowed.

"But then why hasn’t Red attacked yet?" he asked. "If he really has someone feeding him information inside Michael’s camp, it should be easy for him to strike first."

Clara thought for a moment before speaking.

"Maybe he’s waiting," she said slowly. "Or maybe he has another plan."

Everyone turned toward Myles. He nodded slightly. "That’s possible."

Myles glanced briefly toward Jack before looking back at his companions.

"Right now I think we’re the ones with the advantage."

The others watched him closely.

"We know Red has a spy inside Michael’s group," Myles continued calmly. "But Red still thinks we don’t know that."

A faint sharpness appeared in his gaze.

"That means we can use it."

Several heads nodded immediately.

Victor gave a low grunt of agreement. George and Daniel also looked convinced.

Samantha hesitated before speaking.

"Shouldn’t we tell Michael about the spy?"

Myles shook his head almost immediately.

"We can’t."

Everyone looked at him.

"If the spy really exists," Myles said, "then there’s a good chance it’s someone close to Michael."

He paused briefly.

"If Michael suddenly starts acting like he knows about it, the spy will realize they’ve been exposed."

A tense silence followed his words.

Daniel finally spoke. "So what’s the plan now?"

Myles slowly turned his head toward Jack.

Then his gaze moved to the rest of Jack’s captured teammates.

The prisoners stiffened slightly when they noticed the look in his eyes.

"We can’t let them go back and report what happened here," Myles spoke calmly.

Samantha, Ethan, and Clara exchanged uneasy looks.

They clearly understood what Myles was implying, but none of them looked comfortable with it. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

George, Victor, and Daniel, on the other hand, remained firm. They seemed to have already reached the same conclusion.

Lilian stood slightly behind the group. Her face showed little emotion, her eyes quiet and distant as always.

Myles looked back at his companions.

"Let’s kill them here," he said. His voice remained steady.
