Xie Ziyuan had taken Leng Chuan and Lin Yu’an with them after he transported Lu Qingtang and the kids to the base first yesterday.

They were male beastmen, so they still had reservations about touching a female beastman who wasn’t their wife. However, Elder Peng and her brother suffered greatly under their hands.

The beastmen tossed them roughly on the makeshift stretcher, secretly pinching or slapping them.

They looked like pigs who were about to be roasted. Muffled noises came out from their throats.

"You all savages will suffer once our people know about how you all treat us!" Qi Mian said maliciously. Her voice raised in a threatening manner.

She was absolutely furious! Not only she suffered under the dirty traffickers, now even beastmen from some backward places dared to treat her like this.

Ma Yongcheng’s face scrunched in disgust. He slapped away Leng Chuan’s hand on his shoulder, feeling alarmed when he saw the teasing look on Leng Chuan’s face.

Scared this friend of his might tattle on his wife, he hurriedly retorted. "Don’t try to take advantage of me by uttering such ambiguous words, Qi Mian!"

Since she was quite chatty, they hadn’t gagged her because they wanted to hear what she was going to say. All they heard from her brother was his pained moans, and they weren’t interested.

Originally, they suspected she was the one plotting against Ma Yongcheng, but the timeline didn’t align.

It was only a few days ago they were released from the trafficker’s den while Lu Qingtang had been imprisoned longer.

Leng Chuan words made sense. "The one who held a grudge against you might be the male beastman."

Ma Yongcheng had tried to recall who the man was, but he couldn’t remember.

"Ma Yongcheng!" Qi Mian gritted her teeth. "I will bring you to the city and leave this god forsaken place if you release me."

If not for the presence of Xie Ziyuan and others and if only her offer were for someone else, other male beastmen might have taken the bait. However, Ma Yongcheng wasn’t easily tempted.
