Ma Yongcheng’s powerful sense of smell had a limited range, and fortunately, Leng Chuan’s siblings’ whereabouts was within this range.

His current power level was not that high, so there was always room for improvement.

He pointed in a certain direction. The group followed. From the distance, they already saw the faint silhouette of a few figures.

Ma Yongcheng was quick to grab Leng Chuan’s shoulder, preventing him from rushing there with reckless abandon. The situation on his younger brother’s side didn’t seem good. If his younger brother was in a perilous situation, it might startle the snake.

He was like an old father with two disobedient kids. One hand grasped Leng Chuan’s shoulder tightly, and the other pressed down the excited little bird, Du Yufei. Though... the latter acted more like a husky, more ’doggy’ than him who was a real dog.

Using the cover of the thick vegetation, and tall, lush trees, they spied on the scene from a distance.

Leng Chuan’s youngest brother, Leng Yi had a knife pointed to his neck, pressing tightly and drawing a small amount of blood.

"You audacious kid," the beastman sneered. With his huge and burly body, his hand easily clutched Leng Yi’s head while the other hand pointed the small knife to his neck.

Leng Yi winced, his scalp was almost pulled out by this man. However, he held back from letting out any noise, not willing to give him the satisfaction from torturing him.

The beastman snorted. "Let’s see if your sister comes back or not. You damn weaklings dared to steal things from us!"

"If she doesn’t come back, I will kill you," he continued with irritation. "I will only give her time until the sun sets."

"Better if you kill me." Leng Yi said rebelliously, his tone arrogant. "You will never get whatever items my second brother took from you back then."

The beastman yanked some of Leng Yi’s hair, making him draw a sharp breath. Leng Yi closed his eyes shut, wincing.

"Do you think I don’t dare to do that?" The beastman growled.

"You don’t dare to," Leng Yi spat, his face all scrunched up.

Frustration etched on the buffalo beastman’s face. Because Leng Yi’s words were right. He wasn’t alone acting alone and couldn’t be impulsive.

His other companions had left him to deal with this troublesome brat who kept on provoking him. They were currently searching for Leng Yi’s second brother, Leng Jun.

"You are so presumptuous because you know I won’t kill you for the time being." The buffalo beastman harrumphed. "Just wait until they capture your brother. I will shred you to pieces then!"

His lips curled up into a satisfied smirk, as if he had just done the things he uttered simply by saying them.

Leng Yi rolled his eyes. However, although he looked courageous outside, he was secretly on edge inside, fearing for his second brother and third sister’s safety.

He hoped they wouldn’t come, but based on their personality, he knew they would. It was better if they could run as far as possible, out of this criminal group’s reach.

They had just arrived in this part of the forest this morning. The perilous journey had taken a few days. Qi Mian, that female beastman had lied to them! As soon as they arrived at the cave, their eldest brother wasn’t there.

The traces around the cave also suggested the place had been deserted for a while. Qi Mian had told them that the cave was safe, but based on the bloodstains on the ground, it obviously wasn’t the case.

A few fierce beasts were lurking around. As soon as they exited the cave, the fierce beasts lunged at them.

Unfortunately, they didn’t share the same brain. In order to escape, they had to separate for a while. He and his elder sister went in the same direction while their second brother took the opposite route.

"What did my second brother take? What item can make you so all so anxious?" Leng Yi asked mockingly, trying to fish out for information.

This buffalo beastman just kept on yapping about an important item but he never revealed what it was. Whatever item it was, he wondered whether his second brother knew the item’s origin and its function.

For the sake of retrieving this item, they had even let go of his third sister temporarily. They wanted her to find the second brother and led him to them.

The three siblings possessed similar looks. Light brown furry, round ears and thick tail. Their hair was smooth and straight, unlike most beastmen who either had curly or curvy hair.

As such, the moment this criminal group spotted Leng Yi and Leng Ting, they captured them, noticing the similarity between them and Leng Jun’s looks. They also killed the two fierce beasts who had been chasing the two.

The sheer power shocked the two. They instantly recognized the group as criminals who usually escape into the dangerous zone. It was rare for powerful beastmen to stay around there unless they had nowhere else to go.

"You don’t need to know." The buffalo beastman snorted.

Xie Ziyuan’s group also heard what they were discussing.

"Don’t go there." Xie Ziyuan observed the situation, and told Leng Chuan, "The knife is still pointing at your brother’s neck at a dangerous angle. He looks like a desperado."

It wasn’t that they were afraid to deal with him, desperados are inherently reckless. They wouldn’t know what he might do to Leng Yi if he was pushed to the brink.

Leng Chuan let out a breath and eventually nodded, forcing himself to calm down. He would wait until this buffalo beastman lowered his knife before rushing over. He didn’t believe his hand wouldn’t get tired!

However, no matter how he tried to calm down, his felt a headache coming when he heard his youngest brother provoking the buffalo beastman over and over again. Why can’t he behave?!

His heart nearly leaped out of his chest when he witnessed what happened next. With the knife still having its tip embedded in his neck, Leng Yi punched the buffalo’s beastman.

"You dare to hit me?!" The buffalo’s beastman roared and the knife deepened.
