Apocalyptic Rebirth: With a repairman system space, she rises again.-Chapter 687: Wishing on watchers.
One of the soldiers in the back laughed so hard that he gasped. "Oh men! He already had one missing leg. Now he has five missing fingers."
"And no dick." Carson added with a chuckles. "The watchers took care of that for him."
Ceasar was in tears, he had no time to bark at Carson or deny the claims the man made. For him, death was better than admitting that he was missing the vital organs which made him a man.
"So how does he pee?" Someone asked.
Hades stepped forward, his heavy boots echoing on the metal floor. The soldiers hushed, even though their boss didn’t look bothered. He reached into a pouch on his belt and pulled out a small, colorless vial of Blood Pills. He grabbed Ceasar’s head with a grip of iron, ignoring the man’s frantic sobbing.
He shoved two pills into his mouth and then clamped a pressure seal over the stump. The bleeding stopped instantly a few moments later. "He’s still alive, Roy," Hades said flatly. "Finch doesn’t need his fingers to talk. He only needs his tongue. And his memory."
Hades looked down at Ceasar, who was now sniffling, his face a ghostly shade of grey.
Carson leaned over, his shadow falling over the broken man. The knife was back in its sheath, but his hand stayed on the hilt. "One more word," Carson whispered, his voice almost sweet. "and I will go for the neck next time. I’ll make sure your head is flying before you can even finish the sentence. Do we have an understanding, Ceaser the great?"
Ceasar squeezed his eyes shut and nodded frantically, a single sob escaping his throat. He tucked his arm against his stomach and curled into a ball on the floor, finally silent.
"Good," Carson said, patting Ceasar’s shoulder mockingly. "See? Communication is key."
Hades stood up and signaled to the pilot. "We are clear. Take us to New Eden."
As the craft lifted off, the only sound was the hum of the engines and the soft, wet sound of Dr. Roy pouring disinfectant on the floor.
Ceasar didn’t move. He was thinking on the decisions he had made that led him to where he was. Just where had everything gone wrong? How had he gone from having an army of his own, from being the most powerful man in the world, to a chopped up trade piece?
He sobbed silently, wishing desperately for a miracle to get him out of the mess he was in. If they made it to New Eden, it was over for him.
How he wished the watchers would intervene!

Sunshine’s destination planet Ovic-34, a new world. The air on that planet didn’t smell like earth; it smelled like warm wool, sweet clover, and a hint of something Sunshine could only describe as ’a wet dog, but in a good way which was not revolting.
As she took in the alien town properly, she was hit by a sky so green it looked like a lime popsicle. The entire world was a rolling sea of emerald hills, dotted with white, fluffy blobs that were definitely animals. They looked like sheep from a distance and there were so many of them.
According to the system, this was a world that lived and breathed ranching. The aliens she passed in the small town were sturdy, wearing thick clothes and boots that were caked in mud. They looked like they hadn’t seen a skyscraper in a thousand years, and they seemed perfectly happy about it.
"You the repair person?" A voice came from behind her.
Sunshine turned to see a tall human like female with silver hair tied in a practical knot. She had a face that looked like a map of a well-lived life, it was her mouth that caught Sunshine’s attention_ it was just too wide!
It seemed to be a feature of all the people living here. They looked like characters in an odd cartoon.
"I’m Sunshine. I am the Repairman that was assigned to repair the animal translators."
"Savini Savani," the woman said, shaking Sunshine’s hand with a grip that could crush a walnut. "Owner of the Savani farm Estate. Follow me, dear. My cows are currently calling me names I’m sure are rude, but I can’t be certain because the speakers are nothing but static."
They hopped into a truck that looked more like a motorized hay wagon with two tires. As they sped toward the estate, Sunshine gasped.
"Is that... a goat in a hat?"
"That’s a Glimmer-Goat," Savini said. "And he’s probably complaining about the hat. They’re very fashion-forward."
Sunshine started to giggle. Back at the base on Earth, the only talking animal she knew was Zulu. But here, as they drove past a field, she heard a deep, velvety voice boom out:
"Excuse me! The hydration levels in this trough are subpar! I demand a refund on this grass!"
Sunshine burst out laughing. "Did that cow just ask for a refund?"
"Oh, don’t encourage them," Savini sighed, though her eyes twinkled. "Once they get a voice, they never shut up."
Sunshine wondered how they dealt with talking animals at the time of slaughter. Surely, the animals begged for mercy. Didn’t that make it impossible to kill and eat them?
They arrived at their location soon. The Savini Farm Estate was massive. It wasn’t just a ranch house; it was a sprawling complex of wooden barns, glass-roofed shelters, and automated feeding stations. Thousands of creatures like fluffy sheep, fat cattle, some giant rabbits, and long-necked black llamas roamed the grounds.
They entered a workshop that smelled of solder and old tea. Sunshine dumped a tool bag onto the table.
"Here they are. My son, he’s a good boy, but he has no patience. He just buys new ones when these break. But he forgets that I cannot keep up with the technology. I can’t understand a word my herd is saying, and it’s calving season. I need to know if they’re in pain or just grumpy." Savini explained.
Sunshine looked at the devices. She expected bulky vocoders like the one her friend Nine used, but these were different. They were small, elegant silver circles, no bigger than a coin.
"I’ll see what I can do," Sunshine said.
Savini patted her shoulder and went to fetch some tea.
Sunshine blinked, "System what is wrong with this translator."
[Device 1: Analysis... 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
Problem: Saliva corrosion in the diaphragm.
Solution: Ultrasonic cleaning and a hydrophobic nano-coating.]
"Okay, buy all the equipment that I will need with points." She ordered
[Okay host.]
Sunshine used a tiny sonic pick to shake the dried animal drool off the sensor. She then sprayed a thin, invisible layer of sealant over it.
She picked another device. The system analyzed it.
[Problem: Frequency drift. The ’Moo’ to ’Speech’ pitch shifter is stuck on ’Soprano.’ Solution: Re-calibrate the quartz oscillator to 440Hz.]
With a steady hand and a laser-tweezers, she nudged the tiny crystal back into place. No more squeaky cows.
She picked another.
[Problem: Logic Loop. The device is trying to translate ’Happiness’ and ’Hunger’ at the exact same time, causing a short circuit.
Solution: Install a priority filter. Food always comes first.]
Sunshine rewrote a few lines of code in the device’s tiny brain. It was simple, logical, and very relatable. The devices were not as complicated as she imagined. It was either that, or she was becoming a true repairman. "I am a genius." she declared.
She was born to be a master repairman. And she would be the youngest mater repairman in the galaxy.
