Apocalyptic World: Surviving with my husband and my cute little babies-Chapter 82: Bullet on your head
Chapter 82: Bullet on your head
A group of people in City K had been lurking around the area in search of food when they spotted an RV parked nearby.
Since then, they have been watching the RV for several hours, trying to determine how many people are inside and whether it contains food or supplies.
"Sir, they only have one person watching the RV. Maybe we can take it by force. I bet they have foods on their inventory," a member suggested.
"No, they might have some sort of protection, considering that they are too confident letting one person watch the RV," the leader responded.
Everyone looked at each other, waiting for their leader to devise a good scheme. Over the past few days, they had been hijacking and robbing, as well as morally kidnapping weak and easily manipulated individuals.
Their confidence soared as they engaged in illegal activities, knowing no officers were trying to intervene. Now, looking at the RV, they wanted to take it for themselves.
"Let’s try to gauge their reaction first. Take these three women along with the kids and beg for food from them. Make sure their acting is on point. Got it? We will assess from a distance." the leader instructed.
"Yes, leader," another member replied as he instructed the others to dress the women and children who would be going on the mission.
They quickly put the plan into action.

Oslo stood intently watching the RV when an alarm suddenly sounded from the back. He cautiously approached to investigate the source but found nothing amiss.
’Did an animal pass through here?’
But after a few seconds, he heard footsteps coming closer.
"Who’s there?" he called out.
Seeing that no one was responding, he repeated his words with a warning.
"Reveal yourself, or I won’t show mercy!"
He takes out his gun, trying to intimidate the group.
There, he saw three women and two children walking cautiously, all dressed in tattered rags.
"Stay right there! What do you want?" Oslo demanded.
One of the women knelt and begged him for food.
"Sir, please, we need just a little bit of food. We’ve been starving for days, and my child hasn’t eaten yet," she cried.
Oslo was speechless, caught between the desire to help and his uncertainty. He didn’t respond but instead tried to determine if the woman was being truthful.
Noticing her genuine expression, he was about to offer them some bread when he heard Elena speak.
"Oslo, what happened?" Elena asked.
"Sister-in-law, a woman came here asking for food," Oslo replied.
Looking at them, Elena immediately recognized the women’s intentions. She had encountered this kind of behavior in the past and was familiar with their tactics. These women were not here for food but to assess the situation and gather information.
"Oh, then give them one slice of bread," Elena sneered.
"Just remember, we don’t have enough food ourselves."
Hearing this, the other woman’s anger flared.
"Just one slice? Who could possibly get full on that?" the woman said with disdain.
Everyone was taken aback.
’What the heck is this woman saying? Instead of expressing gratitude, she shows contempt.’
"Madam, we are not your family to accommodate your whims. Go to the military camps and get your own rations." Elena said, rolling her eyes.
In response, the woman immediately resorted to emotional manipulation.
"We are in disaster now. Why are you not helping your fellow human?" she said, acting pitifully
"Indeed, but madam, we are not an agency that provides assistance. We are just ordinary people seeking refuge in this city. If you truly want help, go to the military, as I mentioned." Elena responded.
But the women continued to insist that they should help them.
"Okay, fine. Can we stay in your RV? We have children with us. It’s not a difficult request, is it?"
"Drag this woman out. She’s delusional. Why would I allow a stranger into my home? Go to the military and seek shelter there."
’So early in the morning, and this woman is talking nonsense.’
The woman glared at Elena, cursing under her breath. "You! The heavens will definitely punish you for your cruelty!"
Elena couldn’t help but laugh. "Then I’ll wait to see if the heavens will punish me. But, madam, could you please stop overacting?"
’Did these women think they could manipulate me with their acting skills? Well, they really are good, though. The sad reality is that I’m the one they’re trying to deceive, and it’s too bad for them that I see through it.’
The woman was taken aback, feeling uneasy that Elena might be aware of their operation. However, when she noticed a crowd of people gathering around them, she quickly put her acting skills to use once again.
"What are you talking about? If you don’t want to give us food or let us enter your shelter, then just say so. There’s no need to shout and get angry at us," the woman cried pitifully.
Murmurs suddenly erupted among the people in the area. They didn’t fully understand the situation, but many already supported the woman.
Seeing the people living in a nice RV, jealousy began to stir among the crowd.
"Miss, if you don’t want to help her, you don’t have to say mean things."
Another voice chimed in, "Tsk. Young people these days are so arrogant."
Everyone was making noise, reacting to Elena’s attitude, but to her, they were nothing more than pesky flies trying to meddle.
"Since you all think this woman is pitiful, then why don’t you help her?"
"I..." The person who spoke was taken aback; she had come here for fun, but seeing Elena’s attitude, she quickly agreed.
"Fine, I’ll help them."
Elena sneered, curious to see the fate of this saintly person.
"Then get these women out of here. They’re too noisy."
The people were furious with Elena and began to resort to moral pressure.
"Young lady, your RV looks great, and it could accommodate many people. Why don’t you consider donating it to those in need, especially the young children, so they can have a proper place to sleep?"
Elena ignored their nonsense and stared at them coldly.
"Try to take it away from me, and I’ll put a bullet in your heads," Elena sneered as she pulled out her gun to intimidate them.
Panic spread among the crowd, and one person shouted, "You! Let’s call the military—this woman has a gun!"
"Go ahead! This gun is licensed under my name. Besides, you are all trying to force me out of my RV. This is just self-defense." Elena replied nonchalantly.
Hearing that Elena had the gun legally, everyone began to leave the area, afraid she might actually fire a shot.
Seeing them retreat, Elena called out to the woman who had acted so saintly just moments ago, "Where are you going? You said you would help these women. Take them with you! I’ll come by later to see if you truly help them, or else I’ll tell your neighbors that you’re all bark and no action."
The saintly woman quickly gathered the three women along with their supposed children and ran out of the area.
The three women were dumbfounded by what had just happened. Realizing that the people in the RV were far too strong, they understood it was wise not to provoke them further.
Elena glanced at them coldly before walking back into the RV.
