Olivia barely had time to process what was happening before the creature lunged.

Little White reacted instantly. His instincts took over. His arm wrapped around Olivia, pulling her protectively against his chest as he pivoted, shielding her with his own body.
CRASH!
The beast landed where they had just been, claws digging deep into the earth, sending dirt and debris flying. The ground shook beneath them.
Olivia gasped. "What the hell is that?!"
Little White didn't answer. His body moved on its own, stepping forward, placing himself between Olivia and the beast. His muscles tensed, something primal awakening within him.
He knew this creature. Although he couldn't remember exactly where.
It was a Bloodfang Monster. A level 12 monster. These monsters drank their victims' blood, sucking them dry. They weren't easy to deal with. They rarely walk alone, usually hunting in pairs or more.
Little White's fist clenched tightly. They had fallen into the monster's domain, a tricky one at that.
And right now, it had its sights set on them.
The Bloodfang monster's lips curled back, revealing razor-sharp fangs as it let out another deep, guttural growl. It lowered its massive body, preparing to pounce again.
A smirk slowly curled on Little White lips. He gently put Olivia down, ensuring she was comfortable, but his gaze never left the monster's.
With a blur of movement, Little White vanished from Olivia's side.
Before she could react, a loud BANG echoed through the clearing.
A single punch sent the monster crashing into the trees, snapping them in half from the impact.
The monster staggered upright, shaking its tiger-like head to regain focus. Its claws tore into the earth, teeth bared, saliva dripping as a deep, angry, guttural growl rumbled through the clearing.
Its black fur bristled, muscles tensing, as it prepared to attack again. Its soulless black eyes locked onto Olivia. It hesitated, as if sensing something, before turning towards the man that had sent him flying.
The monster prowled around him, muscles coiled, eyes locked on its target. Meanwhile, Little White stood motionless, calm, calculating, waiting for the right moment to strike.
Clash.
The monster leaped, aiming for his neck, but Little White dodged with ease. His fist smashed into the creature's face, sending a shockwave through the air. The monster stumbled but quickly regained its footing. It attacked again, but each strike was countered by Little White with precision.
Realising it couldn't win in close combat, the Bloodfang monster switched tactics. It opened its mouth, a crackling red energy ball forming between its fangs.
Olivia's eyes widened, Little White was in danger.
She didn't know exactly what kind of monster this was, but the ability to conjure magical attacks meant it was on a whole different level.
She had to help.
'If only I could use the Chaos powers again....'
Pain shot through her body, but she forced herself up. Using a stick for support, she wobbled to her feet. Not having clothes isn't helping either, she thought bitterly.
She closed her eyes, trying to conjure her powers, 'Come on please... Please don't fail me.' She cried desperately.
Nothing happened.
She tried again, but the sound of her heart was the only thing she could hear. Her legs trembled from the pain, her teeth sinking into her lower lip as she fought to stay upright. Her gaze snapped back to the battlefield.
Time seemed to slow.
Little White braced himself for the impact, but at the last second, the monster turned its attack on Olivia.
Olivia froze. The hair on the back of neck stood up, her eyes flickered with shades of red, reflecting the approaching death.
'Is this my fate? To die like this? No, I refuse to accept it. I'll forge my own path.' her eyes burned with defiance.
A searing heat shot through Olivia's body. Her muscles tensed, breath turning ragged as black metal slithered over her skin, shifting, hardening, molding into armor-like plating. 'If the system won't give me my powers, I will take it myself.'
Her eyes closed, the armour wasn't what she wanted, she wanted her chaos power, she wanted to fight for herself and protect those that are important to her.
"Come on!!!"
Boom.
A surge of energy exploded, clashing with the Bloodfang's attack. The force sent a shockwave through the air. She felt the heat emanating from the blast, but she felt no pain or harm. 'I did it,... I did it.' She cried out inwardly in relief.
She opened her eyes.
Then her eyes locked onto someone, in front of her a man stood there.
His long silver-white hair danced in the wind, golden energy swirling around him.
Her chest tightened. Her smile disappeared from her face.
Little White was caught off guard by the monster's sneak attack. The Bloodfang's sneak attack had triggered something inside him. His calm heartbeat suddenly pounded with force. He didn't know how he got there but he knew he had to protect her.
His nostrils flared as something unfamiliar coursed through his veins. Fiery golden energy burst from his body, countering the monster's attack.
His eyes snapped open, His irises burned gold, a fire raging within them. For a split second, he was stunned. He had countered a monster's magic.
'I... have magic?'
'Olivia?'
He had almost forgotten something important. His gaze snapped to her, only to find her staring at him... but with sadness and shock in her eyes.
His brows knitted together. Why does she look so... sad? A pang of uncertainty gripped him. Did I hurt her?
He wanted to ask so badly but he couldn't. He had to quickly defeat this monster, it seems like the monster was trying to stall for time. It was only a distraction. But what is it stalling for?
His stomach dropped.
'Oh no!' Realisation dawned on him.
He could feel something stronger, faster and deadly was approaching. The Bloodfang monster was only a bait, the real threat is yet to come.
Boom.
