Chapter 155: Wang Yun, Please Spare My Life!

Emotionally, Liang Long felt that Wang Yun posed no threat to him, but logic screamed otherwise. He knew he had to hide, and the sooner, the better.

With this thought, he reached for the prayer beads on his desk, intending to leave his office.

“Mr. Liang, you have a package that requires your signature,” came a voice as the door to his office swung open.

A courier stepped in, holding a black plastic bag.

“Who let you in? Leave it at the reception desk,” Liang Long scolded, furrowing his brows.

The young woman they hired for the front desk was proving to be incompetent. If not for her looks, he wouldn’t have placed such a decorative piece at the entrance, merely for appearances. She was always away from her desk, allowing couriers to wander into his office.

Wait a minute!

Something wasn’t right. How did the courier know his office location?

Couriers had never been allowed past the company’s public areas before. All deliveries were supposed to be left at the front desk.

Moreover, Liang Long had rented the entire thirty-fifth floor for himself. Unless it was for an essential inspection, like fire safety, nobody else would come up here. The sight of the courier suddenly made Liang Long’s face go pale with shock.

“Alright, just leave it on the desk,” he said, attempting to maintain his composure while his hand discreetly moved toward his waist.

At this moment, only the IT personnel were working in the office. His other subordinates were stationed at their respective locations. Liang Long was only there because of the abrupt developments that day. He had tasked the IT staff with investigating the situation of his captured members.

So, he had come here, believing even if Wang Yun sought revenge, it wouldn’t be so quickly on the same day. But now, he realized his error.

Wang Yun observed every move as Liang Long reached toward his waist.

“Alright, I’ll just leave this here,” Wang Yun said nonchalantly, placing the package on the desk.

In the next instant, as he stood up, he executed a swift turn with a horse stance, his body suddenly spinning around. Instantly, his hands grabbed Liang Long’s right hand, which was halfway to drawing his gun.

With a forceful twist from Wang Yun, accompanied by a painful roar from Liang Long, his wrist was dislocated in an instant.

As the gun fell and was about to hit the ground, Wang Yun flicked it up with the tip of his foot, catching it accurately on the back of his foot.

With another swift move, Wang Yun flicked the gun back into his hands as if by magic.

Click-Clack!

The gun was ready to fire.

“You might want to consider whether your reflexes are quicker, or my bullet is.”

Wang Yun pointed the gun at Liang Long’s temple, his voice ominous and chilling in his ear.

In Liang Long’s other hand, the one not dislocated, he held an ashtray grabbed from the desk, intending to strike Wang Yun. His movement halted mid-air.

The skirmish between them was over in moments, almost noiselessly, failing to alert anyone outside the office. Plus, given Liang Long’s paranoia, his office windows were bulletproof and obscured from view.

Under normal circumstances, unless he exited his office, even if he were to die inside, nobody would know.

“Are you Wang Yun?”

Liang Long instantly realized. Of all the recent assignments he had received, only the one involving Wang Yun had failed. Only someone as formidable as Wang Yun could show up here.

Wang Yun observed the cold sweat beading on his forehead and smiled.

“Quick on the uptake, yes, it’s me. You should have anticipated this outcome the moment you accepted the task,” Wang Yun said, causing Liang Long to shudder violently.

“Listen, I was just fulfilling my duty for money. We were just following orders. Brother, spare my life, and I’ll hand over all the money I was paid,” Liang Long’s voice began to tremble.

Despite being a figure of authority, the fear was palpable when faced with an enemy gun pointed at his head.

“Heh, tell me who’s pulling the strings, I want their details,” Wang Yun pressed the gun a bit more firmly against his head.

“Alright, alright, I’ll tell you now!” Liang Long said as he walked shakily to his office desk, retrieved a key, and unlocked the safe. Inside was an old-fashioned phone.

Admittedly, this guy was extremely cautious. To think he had two phones.

That was why Wang Yun found no trace of the financial backer in the app’s backend on the first phone he had accessed. All the information was stored on this other device.

“In our business, we must keep the financier’s information under wraps. These phones are safer than smartphones. Hehe, more secure,” Liang Long explained while carefully taking it out, his laughter unnervingly strained, almost like crying.

“Brother Hao?”

Wang Yun glanced at the phone number and the note, quickly pocketing the phone.

Watching him take the phone, Liang Long’s gaze filled with struggle, but he had no other option. He kept his hands on his head, staring at Wang Yun with terror.

At that moment, the sound of bustling footsteps came from outside, along with the voices of several men.

On the thirty-fifth floor of the Dragon Wind Building, while outwardly they claimed to be an electronic information company, their actual dealings involved murder and plunder.

“Why did Brother Long urgently call us here, is there a big mission?”

“Does a big shot want us all to mobilize? This sounds like a significant task!”

“It’s been a while since we all worked together. I’ve been eagerly anticipating this the whole way here.”

“Let’s make it clear, if there is indeed a task, we two should be together. Our teamwork is absolutely flawless!”

The god-level hearing allowed Wang Yun to distinctly hear these footsteps. Fifteen people, not one less.

The glass of Liang Long’s office was one-way, providing a clear view from the inside.

To an observer, these individuals appeared ordinary. If there was anything that set them apart from ordinary people, it would be their eyes and aura. Each bore a gaze filled with bloodthirstiness and fierceness. Their presence was menacing, betraying a sinister brutality.

“Brother Long.”

Suddenly, a deep voice echoed.

Thud! Thud!

With two knocks, the office door swung open.

“Brother Long, what’s so urgent that you called us here? And who is this?”

The first to enter was a middle-aged assassin, who, based on appearance, seemed rather straightforward and honest. Before he could finish his question, he was shocked to see another person standing beside their leader.

This individual, with just his derisive gaze, caused the leader’s heart to tremble.

Wang Yun didn’t answer his question, but instead slowly raised the gun from Liang Long’s waist to his head once more.

“He is Wang Yun. Why have you all come? Brother, please spare my life!”

At that moment, Liang Long was nearly crying, humiliated, and panicked as his own men saw him at gunpoint. His emotions were a mix of frustration and shame.
