Ascension of The Unholy Immortal-Chapter 285: Azure Dragon Fall (1)
From a distance, the outline of a magnificent sword could be seen shimmering in the air.
Still reeling from the inferno, the dragon let out a scream of agony as it looked down at its chest, where the sword had pierced its heart.
With another thunderous explosion, the Dragon Palace collapsed, its once-imposing structure reduced to rubble.
The Azure Divine Dragon let out an angry roar before disappearing into thin air.
"Anything else?" Dong Wan’er’s words cut through the tension like a blade, her gaze cold and merciless as she fixed her eyes on Lin Xue.
Lin Xue shook his head, his expression a mixture of pain and resignation. The Azura Divine Dragon had been his ultimate move, yet it had not been enough. He knew Dong Wan’er still had aces up her sleeve—two radiant crystals on her gauntlet remained untouched.
Suddenly, the entire dimension shattered as both experts emerged.
The crowd erupted into animated discussions, their voices a cacophony of excitement and awe.
"Even in defeat, Lin Xue has proven himself to be one of the most talented and powerful paragons of this generation!" an elder said, his tone filled with admiration.
"Indeed. Yet, his adversary was none other than the war goddess herself," another elder concurred, nodding sagely.
"A war goddess—how appropriate," remarked a strikingly beautiful woman in the crowd, her eyes glinting with intrigue.
"Brother Lin!" Dong Xian’er called out, waving at Lin Xue with a bright smile.
Lin Xue acknowledged her with a nod before making his way back to his new seat, his steps slow but determined.
"Any others who wish to change their seats?" Dong Tian Di’s voice rang out calmly over the murmuring crowd.
For a moment, silence reigned. Then, all eyes shifted to the surprising source of the next challenge—seat number 16.
Dong Tian Di’s eyes sparkled with unexpected amusement. "Who do you wish to challenge?"
Lin Xue, just out of an exhausting battle, stood once more. He pointed a steady finger at seat number 15, where Liang sat with an impassive expression.
"I would like to challenge number 15," Lin Xue declared, his voice resolute.
Dong Xian’er’s eyes widened in astonishment. What is Lin Xue thinking?
Liang, still seated, regarded Lin Xue with an unreadable expression. "Are you sure?"

Lin Xue hesitated for a fraction of a second, then nodded firmly. "I hope you don’t take offense—this isn’t personal."
"Not personal?" A mocking smile curled Liang’s lips. "We’ll see about that."
Without another word, Liang stood up and strode toward the stage, the crowd’s anticipation hanging thick in the air.
As Lin Xue ascended the stage, confusion clouded his mind, but he followed Liang nonetheless. The two were teleported to a parallel dimension, an otherworldly arena for their impending duel.
"Quite wondrous," Liang remarked, his eyes flashing with comprehension as he surveyed the surroundings.
Witnessing Liang’s nonchalant demeanor, a surge of anger boiled inside Lin Xue. He had been challenged repeatedly and even humiliated by a woman, while this man seemed untouchable. Lin Xue couldn’t shake off the suspicion that Liang relied on underhanded methods and secret deals with other experts to secure his unchallenged status.
Taking a deep breath, Lin Xue summoned his Azura Dragon Armor and Azura Sea Trident, their forms materializing instantly. With a firm grasp on his trident, he pointed it towards Liang.
"Liang, show me your runes now," Lin Xue demanded coldly.
"My runes?" Liang shook his head, a hint of a smile playing at his lips. "You are not qualified yet."
Lin Xue’s face reddened with rage. With an angry roar, he thrust his trident forward, summoning an azure dragon that surged towards Liang.
Liang’s eyes narrowed with seriousness. In a flash, the Voidwing Sword materialized in his hand. With a powerful swing, he unleashed a void wave that met the azure dragon head-on.
Boom!
The fabric of reality seemed to quiver. The azure dragon was thrown back, its once-gleaming scales dimming.
Outside the parallel dimension, the crowd erupted into an uproar.
"What kind of sword is that?" one spectator exclaimed.
"It didn’t emerge from a rune," another observed, eyes wide with curiosity.
"Is it a magic artifact? How is he using it?"
Unlike spirit cultivators who could channel their spiritual energy to fuel magical spirits, runic cultivators couldn’t. Their runic power was limited to activating their runes and fueling their essences.
"A Dao Artifact?" gasped several Runic Mastery Realm experts, recognizing the sword in Liang’s hand.
"Not just any Dao Artifact," an older expert said, his voice filled with admiration. "This one is crafted using a seventh-order spirit formation."
"So, that’s how it is – a hybrid artifact," A younger expert muttered, his voice tinged with a mix of awe and curiosity.
"Interesting," Dong Tian Di remarked, eyes narrowing as he scrutinized the weapon before him. "A sword forged from void essence, tempered with the blood essences of several true spirits."
Despite the extraordinary nature of the artifact, his demeanor remained composed. Clearly, he had encountered such wonders before.
Lin Xue’s eyes glinted with determination as he gripped his trident tighter. With a swift motion, he lunged towards Liang, swinging his trident with a force that whistled through the air.
Boom!
The sword and the trident collided with a resounding crash, a metallic clang reverberating through the surroundings. Sparks flew as the two weapons vied for dominance.
Liang staggered back two steps, while Lin Xue was forced back seven steps, nearly losing his footing . The disparity in their strength and weaponry was unmistakable. The sword, evidently superior, had asserted its dominance in the clash.
The crowd was stunned by Liang’s display of power. Gasps and whispers filled the air as they processed what they had just witnessed.
Dong Rui looked up with a mischievous spark in her eyes. Lin Xue was no match for Liang, A satisfying smirk spread across her lips.
Lin Xue could scarcely believe his eyes. Liang hadn’t yet activated any of his runes, and yet, in their very first clash, Lin Xue found himself being pushed back.
"Hmph!" Liang scoffed, a hint of contempt lacing his voice. "You’ve had your chance. Now, it’s my turn."
