At the start, I tricked the school beauty, and ended up with twins?-Chapter 387 - 386: It Will Be a Not-So-Simple Journey
Chapter 387: Chapter 386: It Will Be a Not-So-Simple Journey
“These are the daily necessities the two of you will need, and there are some one-size-fits-all undergarments you can choose from. There may not be many styles, but the quality is still very good,”
The employee, wearing a small blue cap, stood at the doorway pushing a cart and handed a basket of daily necessities to Gu Yu.
At the same time, he lifted two boxes from below the small cart containing various types of one-size-fits-all clothes, including base layers, underwear, and socks.
Most were simple styles in either pure white or light blue, obviously made from materials like pure cotton, perfect for base layers.
“The quality of the clothes feels quite good, but we can’t always just wear these base-layer clothes everywhere, can we?”
Gu Yu touched the garments, finding them very comfortable and made from superior fabric.
But these clothes were clearly not everyday wear.
As a male, he wasn’t very particular; a long-sleeve white tee would suffice for him, but girls can’t be as casual due to physical reasons.
Luckily, the employee seemed to have anticipated this issue. He opened another box that contained some blue and white checked shirts and trousers.
“We are prepared. These are standard sailor wear, but the sizing might not be perfect, and for that, I apologize,”
The employee took out a sailor outfit from the box, a white base layer with blue or navy collars, and both the collar and arms had insignia and badges of the Huaxia Navy.
These were obviously spare uniforms for navy personnel stationed on the ship, now brought out for emergency use.
Gu Yu nodded, “It’s fine, since it’s outerwear, size differences aren’t generally noticeable unless you look closely.”
He understood the circumstances and wasn’t about to make it difficult for the employee.
Lin Xinyue had a headache because there were very few undergarments suitable for women, only a handful.
Luckily, the sizes weren’t too far off; otherwise, it would have been even more troubling.
You can’t really go out half-clothed… with so many people on the ship.
“We hardly have any women’s undergarments on board, and for that, I am truly sorry. However, during our voyage, we will be making a few port stops. We should arrive at Xiangjiang Port in about three days, where a dedicated purchasing team will address your needs,”
The employee, full of apologies, also mentioned the next port where Ark would dock.
“Xiangjiang Port?” Gu Yu noted it silently, having thought that Ark would head straight to the Middle East without stopping this time.
It seems like the journey would involve stopping at some major ports.
That makes things easier; he should be able to contact Ideal Paradise every so often.
“It will be about three days, please be patient,” the employee said as he cleaned up the clothes Gu Yu and Lin Xinyue had picked out, then continued with the cart to the next room.
“Looks like we’ll have to do some shopping in Xiangjiang – I heard we will be at Jeddah Port in Bangladesh for quite a while, and it’s not so easy to find supplies there~”
Just as Gu Yu and Lin Xinyue were about to carry their things back to their room, the door of the next room suddenly opened. Wu Shaohan, dabbing at his hair with a towel, spoke in a delicate voice.
Gu Yu couldn’t help but shiver and turned his head to look, surprised to find that the usually heavily made-up Wu Shaohan was rather good-looking.
However, his feminine beauty was quite pronounced, with curved eyebrows that strongly resembled the dan character in Chinese opera.
If Wu Shaohan had not spoken, he definitely would have thought the man was an opera actor…
“Going to Jeddah Port in Bangladesh? Who told you that?” Gu Yu asked, unable to resist.
He had two tasks while aboard the Ark, one to attend the World Surgery Conference in Vienna, Austria, and the other to hand over an energy plant in Kuwait as arranged by Mr. Chen Tian.
Although it was only two tasks, both were pressing; he was concerned that any delay during the Ark’s stopovers might affect his schedule.
“Ouch, you really don’t know? Of course, it’s to carry out humanitarian aid!”
Wu Shaohan saw the bewildered look on Gu Yu’s face, and he was a bit puzzled too.
The main purpose of the doctors on the Ark was to represent the country in providing humanitarian medical aid to other countries and regions in need, wasn’t it?
Yet here was Gu Yu, appearing as if he didn’t even know where the intermediate destinations were…
However, he didn’t dwell on this, considering some people boarded the Ark just to hitch a ride; it seemed Gu Yu was one of those people.
“How about inviting me in for a sit? We can have a good chat.”
Wu Shaohan twisted his body and walked leisurely to Gu Yu’s side, then cast his gaze into the room toward the table.
As he approached, a faint scent emanated from his body, which made Gu Yu feel quite uncomfortable.
Gu Yu and Lin Xinyue exchanged glances. Lin Xinyue didn’t say anything but took the suitcase from Gu Yu’s arms and carried it into the inner room.
“Please, let’s talk,” Gu Yu gestured invitingly.
“Really!?” Wu Shaohan’s eyes lit up, and he shyly pressed his lips together, grinning.
Gu Yu couldn’t stand it, but he wanted to know more about the journey, so he had to steel himself to lead him inside.
As soon as they entered the room, Wu Shaohan sniffed the air with his nose upturned and said somewhat unhappily, “The air in your room is much fresher than mine. There must have been someone with body odor in my room before, there’s always a bit of a weird smell.”
“Haha, you can ask the staff for a bottle of air freshener.”
Gu Yu casually replied.
“Right!” Wu Shaohan’s eyebrows relaxed immediately, seeming relieved that a problem that had bothered him was finally resolved.
“Please sit down, may I ask what exactly is this humanitarian aid mission to Bangladesh?” Gu Yu pulled out a collapsible stool from under the coffee table and invited Wu Shaohan to sit.
On the side, Lin Xinyue sensibly went to brew some coffee, although she wasn’t very fond of Wu Shaohan, she knew basic hospitality was necessary.
“The sunlight is really nice—later, I can get a nice nap.” Wu Shaohan held the sunlight with his hands and patted his face with it, as if he wanted to imbue himself with the essence of the sunlight.
When Lin Xinyue placed the coffee on the table, he took a sip, satisfied, and nodded, “The taste is quite authentic.”

Seeing him acting as if he were here for afternoon tea rather than business, Gu Yu felt somewhat helpless.
But now that he had invited him in, he couldn’t very well kick him out.
He just had to grab a book from the shelf, World Navigation History, planning to kill some time with Wu Shaohan.
But Wu Shaohan put down his coffee and began to answer the question, “Our urgent departure is because of Bangladesh, more precisely near Jeddah Port in the Rohingya refugee camp.”
“A severe dengue fever epidemic erupted there, and the local authorities can no longer help themselves, so they sought external assistance. We are going there to offer help and save the safety of millions of refugees.”
“So that’s why…” Gu Yu finally understood why he suddenly embarked on the ship, realizing the urgency of the situation.
He hadn’t expected that the first thing on the trip would be to carry out humanitarian rescue.
This made him realize that his trip abroad was not as simple as just completing a task for someone else.
“Understood, thanks for the information,”
Gu Yu sincerely thanked Wu Shaohan.
Wu Shaohan’s lips curved into a slight smile, “No need to thank me~”
