Atticus's Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground-Chapter 1136: Tweve
Slash!
Even as his entire head was separated from his body, the Gardener's eyes still appeared soulless.
To anyone observing this scene, it was clear, he had died denying everything, even reality itself.
Whoosh!
As blood sprayed across the sky and the Gardener's head and body fell, a blue wave suddenly erupted from Whisker, spreading outward until it engulfed Solren's body along with the remnants of his shattered Will.
Atticus's gaze narrowed sharply as he fixed his eyes on the unfolding scene.
Solren's green Will had begun dissolving inside Whisker's blue Will, as though Whisker's Will was devouring it.
The Gardener's body wasn't spared either.
Whisker's Will consumed it bit by bit until there was nothing left.
"What did you just do?"
Atticus didn't approach Whisker.
Aside from the fact that he had just witnessed him devouring a corpse, he was still on the fence about whether or not he could fully trust Whisker yet.
Yes, he had helped battle the Gardener and saved Eldoralth. But Atticus's mind was the furthest from naive.
It could have all been a stunt, a way to eliminate competition while pretending to be an ally.
'His goal could still be Eldoralth. And I hold thirteen cores.'
Currently, Atticus was the most important person on Eldoralth. He held the majority of the cores, and once absorbed, his strength would be unimaginable.
Which meant, he was also the number one target.
The one everyone had to pass through to reach Eldoralth, including Whisker.
Whisker didn't respond immediately.
His eyes remained closed, trembling slightly, as though he was trying to contain something.
After a few seconds, his eyes opened slowly.
The blue Will spread out around him shot back into his body, enveloping his form and shimmering faintly.
Atticus's gaze sharpened further.
'His Will… it became stronger.'
He could have conjured up a hundred wild excuses, that Whisker had pushed himself beyond his limits in battle and naturally grew stronger.
But he would be lying to himself.
He knew exactly what had caused it.
'He devoured his Will.'
Atticus's eyes were wide with realization just as Whisker finally turned toward him, flashing a wide grin.
"You've gotta be careful when dealing with anyone from the Middle Planes," Whisker said casually. "They're worse than cockroaches."
He shrugged, then continued, "After killing them, make sure you devour their Will. That's how you make sure they stay dead."
Atticus frowned slightly.
"Devour their Wills?"
Whisker nodded repeatedly.
"Don't worry, this nice mister will teach you next time."
"Kuuu!"
A cute sound suddenly echoed through the air, causing Whisker's face to twist in confusion.
He looked around, frowning.
"Kuuu!"
It came again, louder.
Whisker's gaze narrowed and turned to Atticus, who stood there calmly as if he heard nothing.
"Hey… am I going nuts or is there actually some cute voice sounding somewhere? Listen."
There was silence for a moment, then, suddenly, the voice rang out again, clearer now.
"Tweev!"
Whisker tilted his head, even more confused, just as Atticus sighed heavily.
'Can you guys stop it already?'
Just then, Ozeroth's booming voice sounded in his head, sounding loud.
"No, Bond! We're almost there! Now you have to let it come from the depths of your soul! Sound manly! Sound great! Just listen to me… THIEFFF!"
Atticus could feel the Soulkin nodding repeatedly, eagerly absorbing Ozeroth's so called wisdom as though listening to the words of a sage.
The Soulkin cleared his throat in a cute little sound, before roaring proudly:
"TWEVEEEE!"
Atticus swore he could feel his eardrums ringing from their constant shouting.
Whisker stared at Atticus, frowning slightly,
"Can you hear it now?"
Whisker hadn't heard Ozeroth's voice, the mad spirit had kept his voice sealed inside Atticus's head, so the only thing Whisker heard was the Soulkin's.
"It's my Soulkin," Atticus replied calmly.
"Soulkin…" Whisker muttered the word for a moment before realization lit his eyes.
"Oh right! The Frostbane gave you an egg. It hatched? But where's the beast, inside you? Lemme see!"
Whisker asked eagerly, his curiosity flaring. His Aspect was related to beasts, and he loved them, especially the rare, the unique.
Then he blinked as he realized the soulkin's words, "And he's calling me a thief? How?"
Atticus's expression remained calm.
"They're talking about the Gardener's will. I killed him, so technically it should belong to me."
Whisker cleared his throat awkwardly, looking for a moment like he had been caught stealing candy.
"Well, I had to show you that a Will can be devoured…" he muttered.
"I'm not deaf. You could have just told me." Atticus said flatly.
Whisker coughed and smiled again.
"Right… still, Solren was dangerous. It's important to make sure he's properly dead, right?"
Atticus shook his head, brushing aside the point.
"Right. Anyway, this isn't the time to argue about it."
His gaze sharpened.
"Now, I believe it's high time you fill me in about everything. I don't need to be a genius to figure out that you and your siblings have some kind of family drama going on."
Whisker raised a brow, smiling as he crossed his arms.
"Is now really the time for story telling?"
Atticus stared at him for a few long seconds, his gaze placid, unmoving.
Then he nodded once and said, "Don't run off like you usually do. After settling everything, we're talking."
Whisker laughed easily.
"C'mon. When do I ever run? Talking's my middle name."
'He's a fucking liar. Hold him down!'
Ozeroth's roar exploded inside Atticus's head, immediately followed by the Soulkin's supportive chirp:

"Kuu!"
'I know.' Atticus exhaled lightly.
He nodded once toward Whisker, then refocused.
With a blast of force, the orbs of singularity surrounding them erupted outward, shooting away into different directions.
Each orb streaked toward the earth, the skies, and the far off mountains and the moment they touched something, they imploded violently, collapsing into miniature vortexes that swallowed light and matter for a brief second before dispersing with a boom that rattled the world.
The explosions finally subsided, revealing Atticus and Whisker hovering silently in the skies.
It was utterly quiet. However…
"HE WON!"
Within the Aeonian's shield, where the humans, Evolari, Nullite, and Aeonian paragons had been watching the battle with bated breath, the silence shattered.
The paragons clenched their fists so tightly their knuckles cracked, their hearts hammering against their ribs.
