Avatar Online-Chapter 56: Jack the Tailor
[You have reached your destination. Have a nice day.]
The last time Liu Ye drove the Robo Taxi, Marco selected the fastest route but this time Liu Ye didn't make the same mistake. He drove into the Expert District through the most popular road but he didn't stop there. With Light Green Permit he could enter into the Master District freely.
"Not bad…" Liu Ye nodded in approval as he got out of the taxi at the streets full of fancy shops. The Master District was much cleaner and exclusive than the rest he saw so far.
It would be a shame not to use the 1000 gold that he received from the Bank so he went to the official outfit store. They thought he would pay off the bounty and they could later force him to join them but Liu Ye would rather gear up and fight head-on.
Bounty Hunters were usually working alone so he had the chance to fight back using his Ice Serpent. All he needed was a nice outfit that would help him survive much longer.
"Welcome, Sir! I'm Robert and I will be in charge of you today. Can you tell me what you are looking for?"
As soon as he entered inside, he was approached by one of the male shop attendants in a fancy suit. Even though the other patrons quickly looked down at him for his outfit, the salesman didn't mind it at all.
"Hello, I'm looking for an outfit with a great freedom of movement, decent protection, and a similar style as the one I have," Liu Ye explained as he looked around the store. He completely ignored the looks he got and scanned the prices of the items.
5000…
8000…
15000...
"And it would be best if it's within the range of 1000 gold," Liu Ye added, noticing the outrageous prices. "I will upgrade once I save more gold."
He thought the top outfits would also be around the same price but how wrong he was. It seemed like the weapons were truly worth too little compared to the outfit sets.
"1000 gold? That's little but let me find something. I should have what you want in the back of the store," the attendant muttered in wonder as he departed to the storage. "Please wait here Sir, I will search for it."
Liu Ye was left alone to himself so he walked around while checking the fancy outfits. Too bad, just as he tried to touch one and inspect it, he was stopped by another customer.
"Hey, don't touch it if you don't plan to buy it. Do you expect me to buy it after your dirty hands ruined it?"
[Academy Official - Lvl. 70]
Liu Ye glanced at the young man in a green robe and noticed he was looking at him angrily. Liu Ye didn't even do anything yet he was yapping and insulting him for no reason.
"Oh, you want it?" Liu Ye asked with a smile and touched it on purpose while teasing, "My bad, my dirty hand slipped."
The Academy Official was instantly taken aback but then he reached out to Liu Ye's wrist. "You bastar—"
He stopped himself halfway as Liu Ye was quicker and pulled away. "You are so slow. Pretty shameful for someone at your level."
If someone disrespected him, Liu Ye wouldn't treat them nicely no matter who they were. The Academy Official didn't even have the name so he wasn't supposed to be important anyway.
By that time, many patrons were alarmed by the scene as the Academy Official didn't try to be quiet. The other employees frowned at him for being loud which irked him even more.
Unfortunately, just as he was about to go off, Liu Ye ignored him and walked past to meet with his assigned salesman.
"This looks good," Liu Ye approved right away with just one look at the outfit. Even if the outfit didn't have good stats, he would still buy it for the looks.
Although he preferred full black, the black leather with a red dragon print was a perfect match in connection to Xu Ye's Guild. It had long sleeves and even a hood attached to it. Liu Ye wouldn't need to worry that someone recognizes him if he could hide his face.
"I am glad you like it, but Sir, I have bad news," the salesman muttered with a sigh. "I tried to find anything within your price range but this is the cheapest outfit that matches your requirements. It costs 2000 gold."
Liu Ye raised his eyebrows at the price but hearing footsteps coming from behind gave him an idea. He would normally avoid it but this time he stood still, letting the Academy Official grab onto his shoulder.
"Bitch, do you know who I am?" The Academy Official asked angrily as he jerked Liu Ye back to face him.
"Excuse me?" Liu Ye frowned while glancing down at the hand on his shoulder. "Apparently not as famous as you think if you have to ask."
"Sir, is there a problem?" The salesman approached to figure out what was wrong and Liu Ye complained right away.
"This man has been insulting and harassing me since I entered the store. Now he is even using violence in front of everyone."
"And what are you going to do about it?" the Academy Official asked back rudely and casually pushed Liu Ye away.
That was exactly what he wanted.
"Ah!" Liu Ye cried out in pain as he flew back before crashing against the cash register after sliding on the floor. Almost everyone in the store was dumbfounded, together with the Academy Official.
"Sir! Are you okay?!" the salesman rushed over but Liu Ye only held onto his arm as if he just suffered a mortal wound. "Argh, my arm! He broke my arm!"
"What?! I didn't even use any strength!" the Academy Official argued while storming towards Liu Ye. "Bitch, you are only pretending!"
Liu Ye gazed at the salesmen for help but seeing they didn't move at all, he took out his dagger into the hidden hand that was supposedly broken. If his plan didn't work out, he would at least have a chance to fight back.
The Academy Official approached him and reached to Liu Ye's broken arm as if to prove he was just pretending. Thankfully, just as Liu Ye was readying himself to strike, a loud voice broke through the store.
"What is going on here?! Who is causing trouble in my store?!"
The Academy Official jerked back at the deep tone and they both looked to the side.
[Jack the Tailor - Lvl. 100]
A named NPC!
Seeing a slim middle-aged man with such a high level and an assigned name, Liu Ye knew his plan worked out.
"Boss, they are fighting!" the salesman called out while pointing at the Academy Official. "This man has been rude and assaulted another customer!"
Jack immediately glared at the Academy Official and decided on the spot, "You, get out! I already knew you are up to no good with such an attitude. Forget about your outfit as well. If your dean wants it, tell him to come over by himself as I won't be selling anything to you."
Liu Ye smiled widely under his bandana after seeing the change in the Academy Official's face. It was so satisfying to mess with the plan of the game AI who just tried to mess with you.
"S-sir! I didn't do anything! I am being fram—"
"I don't give a fuck," Jack the Tailor cut the official off without much care. "Do you think you are better than others just cause you are working for the Academy? Fuck off. If you don't get out within the next 5 seconds, I will kill you."
Everyone in the store gulped. None of them seemed to doubt the boss' words and the Academy Official didn't treat it lightly either.
"The Dean will be mad!" he warned in panic but Jack was already getting annoyed.
"5…"
"4…"
He began to count down while forming a wind shuriken on top of his palm. It began to spin right after and the Academy Official finally gave up trying to convince him. He glared at Liu Ye and threatened, "Don't even think of showing up in the Academy!"
When Jack counted down to 1, the target was already out of the store, causing everyone to sigh in relief. If they began to fight, anyone in the store would be affected as well.
"Those damn Academy Officials. They are so entitled," Jack the Tailor commented while canceling his shuriken and gazed at Liu Ye who was still on the floor. "You, get up. I know you are not hurt at all."
Liu Ye didn't plan to lie to a level 100 NPC so he stood up while keeping his dagger. "Thank you for the help, Sir. I'm still new to bending so I didn't have much choice. One has to do whatever they can to survive."
"I don't mind it. You actually did me a favor," Jack replied while waving his hand. "The Dean of the Academy actually sent his slave to pick up my work. Such disrespect. Now he will have to come over himself and apologize, hehe."
He looked at his employee carrying the red dragon outfit and asked, "He wants to buy it? Good choice. You can half the price for him."
"Yes, Boss!" the salesman nodded eagerly.
"Alright, I'm back to work. Let me know when the dean comes back," Jack the Tailor said casually and ignored Liu Ye as he went back to the back of the store.
Liu Ye was planning to come back later after grinding for a bit but it turned out it was no longer necessary.
"Sir, this piece will cost 1000 gold after a discount. Would you like to check it?"
