Chapter 17: The last Assessment 𝑓𝓇𝑒𝑒𝚠e𝘣𝓷𝘰ѵe𝑙.com

Following after the bountiful figure of his childhood friend, Elliot and many examinees stepped inside a wide and spacious room stretching across for around twenty meters and thirty meters long and separated into two different zones.

At one side of this room, there was a multiple-story mobile bleacher with many seats, where students could sit and wait for their turn to get assessed.

At the other spacious side of the room, there were over a few dozens of towering creatures two times the size of an average person resting against the wall. They were modeled after Golems but made out of iron and a core salvaged from an ancient civilization of Xavier that magically imbues life within them.

These Metal Golems were standing still, waiting to follow orders of their superiors.

Instructor Nina Olsen turned to look at the examinees in this room and began speaking, “The last assessment of the entrance examination will take place in this room. As you can see, there are many Metal Golems in this room. You will be fighting three of them in this assessment. There’s a magic core in the center of their body. You need to destroy it to defeat them. These golems can be defeated by magicians in the magical realm as long as you play your card correctly. I will assess your strength and speed according to the time you take to defeat three of them. Your result will depend on the time taken to defeat them.

“I advise you all to give it your all as the result of this assessment will not only determine your combat level as a magician but also the amount of your compulsory reward.

“Does anyone have any questions?”

A student raised his hand and asked, “Ma’am, what’s the compulsory reward?”

“It’s a surprise. You’ll know after this assessment.” Instructor Nina replied with a mysterious smile on her face.

Many students needed to confirm whether they can use external items like weapons, bombs, and so on to defeat the Metal Golems, so they asked about it from her.

A few minutes later, once instructor Nina has cleared the confusion of all the examinees by replying to their questions with a big fat no, she said, “With the questions out of the way, let’s start the assessment.”

She proceeded by calling out the names of a few people present in the name and asked them to get in position and get ready to fight the golem.

Theo happened to be the last participant of the first group.

The Metal Golems proceeded to close the distance between them once the assessment began.

“This is far too easy as anyone with enough speed can abuse the weaknesses of these lumbering husk.”

Theo Rose spoke out ever too lazily, stretching his hands out and channeling magic energy into the supernatural wood cells in his bloodstream, manifesting two spears with ends shaped like a bouquet of wooden needle flowers in his hands.

“Take this on for your size.” He said as he hurled the spears at two of the three Metal Golems standing on the left and the right side of the Golem in the center.

The Golems punched out, shattering the wooden spears, and in that very moment, Theo Rose suddenly disappeared from his position and appeared several meters away from where he stood.

The eyes of the examinees watching the ongoing fights widened as they saw him standing just a step away from the core of a Metal Golem standing in the center of two others.

“Die.” Once the hands of a teenager, now shaped like the wooden claws of a monster, shattered the core of a golem, defeating it immediately.

Whoosh

The thick fist of the two other metal golems came crashing down at Theo when in that very instant, he vanished without a trace.

A moment later, both the golems collapsed to the ground as wooden spears have somehow shattered their cores simultaneously.

“Theo Rose, you have defeated the Golems in less than five seconds. You’ve scored 100.5 points for strength and speed. Your combat level as a magician is 10.5.” Instructor Nina announced.

“His second ability is such a cheat!” The students mattered under their breath as they looked at Theo.

Theo walked to the benchers to take a seat with a smile on his face, feeling satisfied with defeating towering metal golems in only five seconds, that too without giving his best.

After the first group, another group made up of several teenagers, including Lisa and John, went down the bleacher and up to the fighting area to get assessed. Lisa came out victorious against the three metal golem after fifty seconds, and instructor Nina stated that Lisa’s combat level as a magician is 5.5. John, on the other hand, lost miserably against the golems and received level 1 for holding his ground against them for more than 100 seconds.

Sometime later, once many examinees were assessed and had their levels determined by instructor Nina, Elliot’s name got called out from the pretty mouth of the curvy redhead beauty.

“My turn has finally come,” Elliot muttered, walking towards the designated fighting area to get in position before the start of the battle.

Just when he reached the designated area, a notification popped up in his mind.

<Trial “Might of the Champion has started>

<Defeat the Golem in the shortest time out of all examinees>

<Rewards: 100 essences of life, God’s eye of Wisdom, Shard of God’s Tower First Floor Key>

“The reward this time seems better than the previous ones. I guess I gotta give it my all, after all.” Elliot said in his mind, a smile stretching across his face.

At first, he didn’t want to make himself stand out by performing better than Theo Rose and the other top examinees.

However, he now had no reasons to hold back as he wanted to obtain all the cool-sounding rewards from completing the trial.

“At the count of three, the assessment will begin,” Nina said, counting out for them.
