Awakened: SSS Ranked Soul king-Chapter 140: Escape
From the overview of the sky, a bird noticed a troop of men, some riding on horse back, while others on their bare feet.
Without fail, all of them were weak, battered and bruised. The battle had seen a lot of deaths and had thoroughly worn them out.
"How close are we?!!" At the back of the troop line, a young man with a bald head and blood dripping from the side of his head barked in frustration and pain.
All of them, without fail, They died. These were people he had braved the corridors of the training center with, faced monsters far above their level. Losing them all at once in one battle was heart wrenching.
"Stay alive Quinn, we'll soon arrive!!" Cyrus shouted with panic feeling is brothers limp body squirming around on his back.
Quinn had taken the risk of giving Cyrus sight in the middle of the battle and ended up being fatally wounded. His arm was cut off and his was impaled through the belle causing him to bleed out slowly.
There was no healer in th squad anymore and Victoria was severely overheated along side Hamdel. He was completely helpless here.
They had no choice but to cross the portal where they came from and hope there was a healer inside there. It was seriously mind wrecking.
"After we cross this Hill, we'll be home free, just wait" Morgan said gritting his teeth tightly. Their entire cohort had been wiped out, himself, Cyrus and Quinn were the only ones to survive and that was solely because he wasn't around them when it happened.
It togged a guilt string in his heart. He had abandoned his team to join another and now look at the state of his former teammates.
If he didn't feel guilt, they he could only be tagged as inhuman.
"Fuck!!" Cyrus cursed.
Meanwhile,
Guillimans eyes seemed drowsy as he forced ghost to walk forward slowly.
Using heavy soul brilliance was a very tiring exercise. Normal he would need a month to recover. But since he was more powerful than ever since coming to this world.
He could do it much faster. Though even that was a long time.
"You can fall asleep, I'll protect you" beside guilliman Logan's Voice sounded, he looked quite fresh. And was barely tired.
"Ahh, I…" Guilliman looked around at the rest of the cohort and couldn't help but shake his head.
There were too many Vunrable people under his watch around here.
Bartholds amour had been shattered, he now had only thin pieces of clothing on. Ontop of that his left shoulder had been Peirced by a spike and was bleeding profusely.
Victoria was unconscious along side Hamdel and viper and Jemie was scouting the front. The only other two people could truly trust were sir Carlson and Vulcan.
Unfortunately, both of them were dead.
"I can't" Guilliman said with a sigh maintaining his posture. He brought them into battle, as long as he could manage to stay awake he would do so.
….
Far away in a not so distant land, a group of around 30 men could be seen standing guards around a swirling portal that was dyed with Red with a hint of Emrald.
They had sent out a troop of one thousand slayers to fight against a hallowed beast in a distant land. Honestly, it was overkill in alliance standards. The Blacksteel lord was in fact trying to flex his power by doing so.
But after so many months they hadn't been any new from them. Not one.
It worried him but could he pass through a Yellow gate? He was just to strong to do so, it was until the 18 month mark that he decided that he had to at least check up on What was going on.
"They might all be dead" next to him, Red hair commented, his hand firmly placed on a sword by his side.
This was the Valor family head, Arthur Valor.
Right after the blacksteel lord, he was the second strongest person here. If they had any problem, himself and the lord could handle it quite easily.
"Maybe…" The Blacksteel lord muttered with some hesitation.
"Maybe not"
He didn't want to give up on his children, every single one of them he had was a foot on the neck of the three clans, losing 20'was a terrible lose for the future, and although he seemed aloof, he still cared for his children.
"You, go in and try to come back out" The black steel lord pointed at a level 7 Slayer standing on the side and commanded.
"Yes sir" with some hesitation he saluted the lord and walking forward while cursing underneath his breath.
This wasn't the first person the Blacksteel lord had sent through the portal. His reasoning was that if he sent someone in and they could come back, then they most likely had defeated the Hallowed beast and were just too injured or something was obstructing their way.
This was the only thing he could do unfortunately….though he was planning to send out a particularly annoying Emrald slayer in there if this kid couldn't come back.
-whoop
The morphed allowing the young man's arm to pass through. But then he paused and frowned.
"Is that a face?" He thought to himself, slow caressing the face infront of him. He didn't know what to expect, but in the next second he felt a weight push against his hand causing him to fall flat on his rear.
"What was that?!!" He cursed looked at the portal, something had pushed him infront of the higher ups, He didn't know exactly what it was, but it was embarrassing.
-awooolll
In the next second, a white direwolf stepped out of the portal, forcing everyone infront to put their guard up.
A beast was steppping out? Maybe they really did fail.
Of course, they soon came to understand, as they saw a young man appear atop the direwolfs back. The young man had black hair that draped along his shoulders, an amour set composed of cloth and a metallic substance.
"Oh, it's him?" The Blacksteel lord quickly recognized the young man at the front as more slayers spilled into the area all at once. He was pleasantly surprised to see that they made it.
Especially since he could already see a few members of his family up front.
"Help my brother!!" The first person to speak
Was Cyrus and he fell at the knees of the Blacksteel lord. He couldn't let anything happen to his beloved brother. Not in a thousand years.
"Hmp??!!" The Blacksteel lord frowned deeply a tug at his heart suddenly placed him in worrry.
It wasn't just Quinn, they were dozens of people wounded in varying degrees. The worst, if they didn't get attention now, they would die.
"Quickly, attend to these brave men and women" the Blacksteel lord barked at the hesitant healers forcing them fly into action.
These young men and women had found their way in a Gate crossing to Emrald. That meant they had to fight a beast that was almost and abomination rank.
This was something two ranks above them, and they somehow survived?
"Wait they are…." Arthur Valor held his agaped mouth in shock, his eyes widened.
There were close to 90 Slayers so far and more than 75 of them were capped at Red!!
What kind of growth was this? On average the most talented slayers would reach Red in their late twenty's or early thirty's. And these were the talented once.
But these guys, almost 80 percent of them currently here were below 20. This….waa absurd growth.
"I can see it too, looks like we're in for a time of growth." The Blacksteel lord said calmly then turned to his men.
"Quickly get these men a place to lay their heads, they have honored our shelter and their acts will bring about our rise to power.
The Blacksteel shelter didn't look like it, but they were a rapidly rising power, with the Silver mountain king in their bounds, they were much more solid foundation wise.
All that remained was for them to climb to the top, and to do that they needed talents. Once's that would shape their future.
In the coming days where they rested in the male shift camp built at the beginning of the Gate clearing, more information as to what happened in the Gate came to light.
They had been transported to that ruined shelter of old. Ravens keep. That place which had been abandoned for so many years due to it being overrun.
It was tagged as a Red zone by the alliance after a few adventurous slayers when there and died. To think these kids had survived in this dreadful place for 8 solid months.
It was beyond surprising….but they were in for more surprises as the Slayers recounted everything from the beginning to the end .
"Who is Guilliman?" The Blacksteel lord asked with a frown on his face.
