Chapter 101: Chapter 100: Simple Movements?
Cai Meina heard the noise in the room and knew Ni Zi was awake and seemed to be doing well, so she decided not to go in.
Although her son was in a much better mood today, he still didn’t seem entirely okay. Chatting more with Gong Ruini might help him recover quickly.
Even though Cai Meina was busy with festive preparations, she still paid attention to the situation in the room.
No matter how hard Cai Meina listened, she couldn’t hear any laughter from the room, which puzzled her.
Usually, the kids would make the place lively, especially with Gong Ruini and Zhao Guangran constantly bickering, and then Gong Ruwen would calm them down.
As for Zhao Xuran, he would appear when things got out of control and completely suppress Gong Ruini and Zhao Guangran.
But surprisingly, there was no laughter today, let alone any noise, just a bit of talking at first, which was really odd.
Cai Meina sped up her work so she could finish quickly and check what was happening inside.
Just when Cai Meina was suspicious about what was going on inside, Zhao Guangran’s mouth was wide open.
Zhao Guangran couldn’t believe Gong Ruini was indeed exercising. Initially, he wanted to say that the moves looked funny and didn’t seem difficult.
But before he could say anything, Gong Ruini’s icy glare subdued him, "You can try it yourself."
Seeing others do anything always seems easy, but once you try it yourself, you realize the difficulty.
Try it then, Zhao Guangran didn’t believe a regular exerciser like him couldn’t handle it.
Zhao Guangran took off his shoes, climbed onto the kang, and started doing yoga with Gong Ruini.
"Remember to warm up your body." Gong Ruini wanted to see Zhao Guangran make a fool of himself, tired of his constant overconfidence, but didn’t want him to get injured.
Warm up? Zhao Guangran was even more confused. He wanted to follow Gong Ruini’s so-called high-difficulty exercises, why bother warming up?
Was her advice really that hard to understand? Forget it, since he couldn’t figure it out, there was no helping those who were that dense.
If he couldn’t understand it, she’d take him through the stretching exercises instead. Gong Ruini changed tactics, giving up rest to guide Zhao Guangran through some simple preparatory moves.
Gong Ruini considered herself kind-hearted, mindful of Zhao Guangran getting injured, but Zhao Guangran wasn’t appreciative at all.
Just some kicking and stretching movements, all of them seemingly simple, Zhao Guangran was visibly unwilling.
"Is this what you call high-difficulty moves?"
"These exercises are really not difficult, you know."
"Only someone who doesn’t like sports would find the idea of high-difficulty exercises laughable."
Zhao Guangran wasn’t interested in performing such silly moves. Didn’t he notice Gong Ruwen was covering his mouth, trying hard not to laugh downstairs?
Although they hadn’t commented on his performance, their expressions clearly showed disapproval, which tarnished his glorious image.
Zhao Guangran truly regretted impulsively agreeing to follow Gong Ruini’s lead.
If Gong Ruini weren’t sick yesterday, and rather seriously, Zhao Guangran might suspect her of coming up with a new scheme to mess with him.
Annoyed? Well, Gong Ruini initially intended for Zhao Guangran to relax, at least relax his muscles, but he wasn’t receptive.
Hmph, complaining about not starting and complaining about the lack of difficulty, she couldn’t let him experience some tougher moves.
Gong Ruini noticed Zhao Guangran was about to stop and immediately performed the forward bend. While the move wasn’t very difficult, you bend forward until your hands or fingers touch either side of your feet, or the ground in front of your feet. Use your forehead to touch your legs, but don’t strain yourself. Keep both knees straight.
The moves look easy when others perform them, but when it was his turn, the difficulty was evident.
After Gong Ruini demonstrated, she signaled Zhao Guangran to try and of course mentioned the essentials of the move, "You can try it."
Zhao Guangran wasn’t foolish. While watching Gong Ruini perform, he wasn’t so relaxed anymore, yet he still felt the difficulty wasn’t severe, it was just bending over to touch either side of his feet.
Though challenging, it still wasn’t greatly demanding. After listening impatiently once, Zhao Guangran said, "Don’t worry, I can handle such simple moves."
What a prideful guy. Since he was impatient, Gong Ruini didn’t continue pointing out, but remained on standby in case he pulled a leg muscle or ligament, as it wasn’t a laughing matter.
Initially, Zhao Xuran didn’t take it seriously, thinking it wasn’t very difficult, but seeing Zhao Guangran earnestly struggle, he was stunned.
Gong Ruwen was also shocked. Could it be his sister was doing such challenging moves?
Gong Ruwen tried several times and realized he couldn’t execute it properly. He found that when he attempted pushing down, he couldn’t, unless his knees bent.
But if this move was really done that way, it would be unsatisfactory all the way. After talking to Gong Ruini a few times, Zhao Guangran said, "I’m not trying anymore."
"I admit it’s challenging, but it suits you." Zhao Guangran wouldn’t admit feeling unable to perfect this set of moves.
If he lacked the skill, he shouldn’t keep embarrassing himself, lest Ni Zi endlessly mock him later.
What’s with "suits you"? Such wordsmanship was truly impressive; it’s about saving face, wasn’t it? No wonder, these days men are stubbornly protective of their pride, and he wasn’t even that old, yet he prioritized face.
Gong Ruwen felt the move was quite doable, "Seems like doing this can stretch and help you grow taller."
Currently, Gong Ruwen’s mind was filled with thoughts of growth. To him, growing meant getting taller, and figuring out how to do so was something he pondered for quite a while.
With such a good method now, naturally, he wouldn’t ignore the opportunity.
Grow taller? Of course, "Sure will." Yes, Gong Ruini thought, aiming to be a rich heiress and beauty, height was essential.
Though you could train the body for a flattering figure, height was crucial too. Missing extra leaps during vital growth periods once was a mistake that couldn’t be repeated after living once more.
"Sis, we’ll train together from now on." Without thinking, Gong Ruwen said he’d join the training daily.
Although he could socialise with peers outside and explore new places for treasures, none of those were as vital as height growth.
"I’m joining too." Zhao Xuran coughed from the side, reserving a place.
Uh oh, how come such a big shot wanted to join in too? This left Gong Ruini feeling anxious.
The pressure was undeniably high. Gong Ruini shakily considered whether Zhao Xuran, upon joining the training, would query about the origins of the set of moves.
How was she to explain? She couldn’t claim it was her own invention, right? Zhao Xuran was clever, remembering things decades old without difficulty. If he found out these were yoga moves imported from India, what would he make of it?
Gong Ruini didn’t know if Zhao Xuran would still be in touch with them by then, but being cautious was generally beneficial.
