Back to the 70s: My Childhood Sweetheart Spoils Me Rotten-Chapter 127 - 126: Combat Power is Trash
Chapter 127: Chapter 126: Combat Power is Trash
"Let’s place a kang table here."
"I’ll sleep on this side, you sleep on that side," Renee said, sharing her idea.
That way, they sleep vertically, meaning their feet are toward the window, so even if Rui Wen sleeps wildly, Renee won’t need to worry about her big brother falling off in the middle of the night.
"We’ll each get one side for the closet," Renee insisted on dividing the space for their belongings.
"Brother, what do you think?" After babbling on for a while, Renee finally remembered she hadn’t asked her brother’s opinion.
Renee stuck out her tongue, asking somewhat insincerely.
Only now she remembered to ask him. Rui Wen looked at his sister’s embarrassed look, and although he wanted to keep teasing her, he worried that if he went too far, it wouldn’t be fun anymore.
More importantly, Rui Wen didn’t think there was any issue, "I think it’s great, unfortunately the box hasn’t been cleaned yet."
Rui Wen thought about the box he bought yesterday which had some of his stuff in it, and he felt all kinds of joyous.
"Brother Xu Ran, let’s start studying tomorrow," Rui Wen remembered there was an important task to do.
The Zhao Brothers were next door organizing their things. Considering that Renee was a girl, they divided a large room into one big and one small section, and Renee’s boudoir was in the innermost part. Now, the Gong Family Siblings lived there.
Start studying tomorrow? Aren’t we supposed to go to the nearby recycling depot? Although Renee was eager to get rid of her illiterate label, picking good items was more important.
Renee felt like something was off, why does it feel like the pressure is building? What’s going on?
"Aren’t we going to the recycling depot tomorrow?" Guang Ran exploded, what’s happening, what’s happening, why the sudden urge to study.
This was the last thing Guang Ran wanted to hear; he really worried what would happen if his big brother agreed.
Once big brother decided to teach the Gong Family Siblings, he wouldn’t be able to escape; his big brother would definitely rope him in.
Guang Ran realized happy days are numbered; he accepted that fact. But hadn’t his dad promised to take him for a spin at the recycling depot?
Though he knew there wasn’t much fun there, it was at least going out of the hospital gates. Guang Ran couldn’t remember the last time he went out to play.
Why forget about such a troublemaker, Rui Wen could only curse inwardly; he knew Guang Ran would definitely cause a ruckus but hadn’t expected his sister, who hadn’t even said she didn’t want to go, for Guang Ran to jump out.
If he wants to go out, let him go out. Rui Wen won’t keep an eye on him, he’s not his little brother, why manage him so strictly.
Guang Ran didn’t care what Rui Wen thought; he cared about Zhao Xuran’s idea. What worried him was that his big brother seemed to be considering this.
This put Guang Ran in a panic; once big brother made up his mind, no matter how much he fussed, there’d be no turning back.
"Brother, dad promised me," Guang Ran looked pitifully at Zhao Xuran.
"I haven’t been out yet."
"Brother, I promise you, once we come back, I’ll definitely study hard." Guang Ran wasn’t making empty promises; he knew he’d have to try hard with Renee around.
If he didn’t try hard, his big brother definitely wouldn’t let him off the hook. To prevent his big brother’s tough measures, Guang Ran could only strive.
More importantly, Guang Ran really didn’t think he would lose to Renee; he had heard before that Rui Wen hadn’t taught Ni Zi much.
This kid not only complained, but also involved Zhao Xuran, which worried Rui Wen.
Helpless, Rui Wen could only suggest that rather than tagging along with Zhao Xuran, they could have their mom teach them. More importantly, if they didn’t cater to Guang Ran’s demands, he’d definitely keep making trouble.
Instead of letting his sister feel anxious too, it might be better to let him go out, "Brother Xu Ran, take Guang Ran with you; we won’t go."
What, impossible! Renee didn’t protest earlier because she knew Guang Ran would make all kinds of protests. See, Guang Ran really became restless.
Renee anticipated the beginning but not the ending; her big brother actually chose not to tag along with Zhao Xuran.
Did something happen yesterday? Otherwise, Rui Wen wouldn’t insist on staying home; no matter how much Rui Wen wanted to act grown-up, he remained a child, always thinking about playing. Why wasn’t he wavering now?
What’s going on, Renee desperately wanted to know the answer.
But no matter how Renee asked, Rui Wen wouldn’t budge; he insisted they couldn’t go out.
Guang Ran couldn’t understand why Rui Wen wouldn’t satisfy Renee’s request, knowing he always prioritized her needs before. Why suddenly change? Guang Ran truly didn’t understand.
However, if the Gong Family Siblings weren’t going, Guang Ran assumed that this time, big brother wouldn’t simply say it was his fault.
Despite not seeing Renee’s face, it was clear from her silence that she felt aggrieved.
Zhao Xuran thought Aunt Cai and others were worried about Renee’s health; although she seemed fine today, Zhao Xuran recalled when Renee greeted them after waking up, her voice was slightly hoarse.
"It’s alright; we’ll all stay," Zhao Xuran, unwilling to see Renee’s unhappy expression, settled on this decision.
Going out in winter was inconvenient, especially with two kids, which meant carrying fewer things. What if dad and the others saw a lot of stuff, but old bull underperforms?
Zhao Xuran calculated that if they hadn’t gone yesterday, dad and the others might have gathered more stuff.
No way! Guang Ran was shocked; he knew his big brother protected the Gong Family Siblings, but not at the expense of his ideas.
"Dad has errands, you don’t want to miss the comics. I brought some back, but there are more and better ones outside," Zhao Xuran continuously rejoiced. Fortunately, he listened to Renee yesterday and brought back a set of comics; otherwise, he’d have no way to appease Guang Ran.
Comics or going out, leaving Guang Ran confused, "Can’t I choose both?"
Zhao Xuran shook his head, "No choice, alright, quickly pick one." Zhao Xuran wouldn’t give Guang Ran the chance to plead.
Helplessly, Guang Ran chose comics; since his big brother had already decided, Guang Ran had no choice but to comply with Zhao Xuran’s suggestion.
What, Impossible? This matter was resolved just like that? Renee truly was speechless with Guang Ran; there were plenty of troublemakers, but it was her first time seeing someone so lacking in fight.
Renee could only say that she shouldn’t have too many expectations for Guang Ran; he’d continually disappoint her.
Seeing Renee’s disappointed look, Rui Wen pretended not to notice; although she didn’t say much, he sensed his sister had high hopes for tomorrow.
It’s not just Renee; Rui Wen also had hopes. They’ve been in the Northeast for so long, yet only wandered around the village, how could Rui Wen not feel a bit bored?
Despite wanting to play, remembering his sister’s health, Rui Wen could only strive to be a good brother.
