Back to the Past to Become a Fishing King-Chapter 576 - 331: The Little Prince of Roast Whole Lamb
"Hey, let's grab a bite together. I'm really sorry, but we've already got plans!" Zhang Yang habitually declined.
Zhang Yang had only just met Han Mocheng by chance, and with so many people on the team, it seemed a bit inappropriate to have him treat them to a meal. At his core, Zhang Yang wasn't the type who liked to take advantage of others. Such a costly invitation went beyond the simple relationship between a fan and a streamer.
"You already have plans? I thought calling at this time would still be okay! How about tomorrow then? After all, there are still a few days before the competition!" Little Han wasn't giving up, continuing to actively invite.
"Buddy, I really appreciate your intention! Let's talk after the competition. Our team has a lot of people, we drove over, and it was quite a journey, plus we need to adjust for the competition!" Zhang Yang continued politely.
Initially, Little Han believed Zhang Yang had plans, but upon hearing these words, he instantly realized Zhang Yang was making excuses to politely turn him down.
"Mr. Zhang, you're being too polite with me. I live in the neighboring city, so I'm practically a local! When you're in our territory, please don't be so formal! You're staying at Haichen Hotel, right? I'll come find you tonight!
Just to be clear, we're gentlemen being friendly with each other, so don't block my number, or else I'll become your little black-cloud fan during your livestreams!
That's settled then. You don't need to worry about a thing; I'll take good care of everything!"
Without giving Zhang Yang another chance to speak, Han Mocheng rattled off like a machine gun before hanging up.
Zhang Yang was left a bit dumbfounded, pausing his words for over a second.
"So, uh, where were we? Damn it, the meeting flow's been completely interrupted!" Zhang Yang scratched his head and said.
"We were talking about not wandering off, adjusting your condition at the hotel!" Wang Yan said with a smirk, joining in.
"Oh, right! This isn't something to take lightly. At home, anything goes, but out here for a competition, discipline is a big issue! If anyone needs to go out for personal matters, you have to ask me for leave! No exceptions!"
"Alright, alright, we're not kids anymore. Do you think we're middle schoolers sneaking out to internet cafes at midnight?"
"Hahahaha," everyone burst into laughter.
After the wrap-up meeting ended, Zhang Yang and the others didn't take the phone call from Han Mocheng seriously.
However, just as it was half past five in the evening, Han Da Shao gave Zhang Yang's team a lesson in the power of money.
Zhang Yang and his team were chatting and passing the time when his phone rang again. It was still from Han Mocheng.
"Hello? What's up now?" Zhang Yang's tone over the phone was a little impatient.
"Get everyone downstairs; I've arrived with a roast whole lamb!" Han Mocheng said spiritedly on the phone.
"No way, are you joking?" Zhang Yang's first reaction was disbelief. Roasting a whole lamb is no easy task, and even if money isn't a concern, there's no way there'd be enough time.
"Just come downstairs. I know your team has competition rules, so we'll eat quickly and disperse early! I'm waiting for you—hurry up!"
After hanging up, Zhang Yang didn't rush downstairs but pulled back the curtain to take a glance outside.
Just one look, and Zhang Yang was left stunned.
A light truck.
That wasn't the most important thing. In the bed of the light truck, there was a fruitwood stove with a lamb spinning on the rotisserie, infused with love's magic!
In terms of experience, Zhang Yang prided himself on having seen quite a bit, but this mobile roast lamb delivery conquered him. Could this really be delivered to the door?
"Oh my gosh! Brothers, come down, Little Han said he's treating us to roast whole lamb, and he drove the lamb downstairs!" Zhang Yang said with a mix of amusement and bewilderment.
"What the heck? Live lamb freshly slaughtered?" Han Qiang scratched his head, struggling to understand what it meant to have a lamb brought downstairs.
"See for yourselves! It looks about seventy percent done! That Han Da Shao is truly generous with his treats!" Zhang Yang pointed to the window, a touch of exasperated amusement in his voice.
Everyone gathered around the window, gawking like they were witnessing a spectacle, seeing the truck below loaded with roast lamb and beer.
A few minutes later, Zhang Yang led his team downstairs.
Beside the light truck, Han Mocheng stepped out of the driver's seat of a Land Cruiser with a smile and walked over.
"I asked the hotel's owner earlier; there's an open space in the courtyard we can use for free! Don't just stand there, let's get everything ready and set the mood!"
"Alright, alright! Your enthusiasm is overwhelming; I don't even know what to say!"
"Don't say anything. When you gave me medicinal liquor, you didn't ask for anything in return! I've got some Qingdao beer loaded on the truck; after a few drinks, any problem can be resolved!"
...
The truck drove into the courtyard, and a bunch of big guys gathered to lend a hand.
The supplies on the truck were incredibly complete, including large folding tables and chairs, over a dozen cases of Qingdao beer, and all the tools and seasonings for the roast whole lamb.
The lamb was quite large, and it was clear that Han Mocheng had considered everyone's appetite, making ample preparations.
The guy roasting the lamb was a middle-aged man in his fifties, standing on the other side of the truck's bed, controlling the heat, while Zhang Yang and the others set up the tables and such.
The dinner that followed hardly needed detailed narration. With a roast whole lamb delivered to their doorstep, Zhang Yang and his team, a group of hardy guys, certainly weren't ones to stand on ceremony.
The group devoured the meat and drank in large gulps, nearly finishing a whole lamb, and almost all of the dozen cases of beer were consumed, each round of leftover drinks equally shared among calls for more rounds, until everything was gone.
