Barbaric Spouse, Descry the Night's Lure-Chapter 250: Scene CCL
He soaked in the wooden tub, focused on finishing soon so he could leave and dive further into the South East, ignoring in his weariness... how although softly, the gems of the doors these chambers possessed had been glowing continuosly. Resonating to the married ones who unknowingly to the other, missed the partner.
Aslak would not notice. And his journey would commence that morning after sharing his meal with loud men hoping to get infected by their eagerness.
Simple matters were dealt with in the piece of the morning he took to cleanse, between which, the change of the wife’s sheets and fur was requested. For after taking off the clothes, his nose wrinkled disgusted at his own scent, thick in sweat and dirt.
And so... the fall down the crag arrived and was made on the Jazhara’s Tail Guard horses, from the platform in Passim Watersturl, for many were going to join the Archduke in the uncertain journey.
Ominous as his territory demanded the skies complied to the threat the troops pertaning to the Jazhara’s Tail Guard were to face, and going towards the village, little to no tent could be seen raised.
For as he followed the stream that crossed the village, Aslak and his Guard met Kleifar’s head and warlock who along many savages waited ready to depart.
“Trur.”
“Aslak... I can tell... You’re incomplete. But at least you’re here.” — The warlock with tranquil demeanour told the Archduke provoking deeper frown in him. — “We should talk before going to the core.”
“That I want. The words ya sent aren’t for nothing I suppose.” — Tracing with his eyes at the gone village that was to remain with solely few adults to protect the younger ones, Aslak’s amber narrowed wanting to learn in detail what was it that the eye of Kleifar’s head had been shown, for even if reluctant to believe his bond to the earth, meaning must his instincts posses. — “Only few will stay... What you learned must be troublesome.”
“... It could be. Even I doubt at times.”
“..... Doubt?”
“The danger is true. Don’t glare immediately... The more axes the better. We don’t know what we’ll find in this path we ignore.” — While walking away from other’s ears Otrur Nolsvun led the Archduke to one of the remnant roofs. Being allowed by that one inside to use for no other was there for them to talk. — “As you should know, mentioning the branches and grounds is not even easy to say for our people... I’m respectful ta say now, cursed be myself... Was I not certain about the danger I wouldn’t have even thought of going up that boulder to talk with that one weak from our tribe.”
“... Uth was able ta write those words. Weak or not, I’m here thanks to that you outed.”
“Haa... It doesn’t matter... It’s not time to talk about a lost son.” — Fighting the displeasure, Otrur Nolsvun scowled as the Archduke rebuked the sayings about the one loyal to him. Stealing some of the water the one owning the tent had in a close leather jack, gulping it down as preparation to the talk they were to engage in. — “When I climbed months ago, the earth’s fury was seen by the eye it blessed on me... Branches didn’t only crack... the full of their trunk trembled, menacing to fall... I saw fear in the crags as they opened new paths in our ground leaving us closer to the core of the earth where mercy is nowhere...”
“You say you saw it. Yet no one else did as usual?”
“... I wish that was the answer I can give ya this time as well... But the villager’s instincts waked them as if an attack was meant to come... Nothing like that has ever happened. Something the earth wants, if not, it wouldn’t have alerted every of the spirits here in this corner.”
“What’s your plan then. You’ve been here watching carefully haven’t ya? That eye you say the earth gave you should have been alert for any other hint about it’s wish.” — As skeptic as he continued to be although believing his destined lung’s legend, Aslak questioned the Head who attempted to maintain tranquility as it was easy for both to fight the more the blessings and earth’s force was doubted.
“It’s simple. It wants us to meet it’s core. Solely then shall we learn it’s true desire... or haste.”
“... As expected. That’s tha only answer.”
“What. Ya wanted me to tell what the powerful knows? The eye is a speck of it’s blessing to let us know another speck. Don’t doubt it’s force as you always do since every other here felt it’s summon.” — With annoyance at the little care the man placed in the Earth’s divinity, Nolsvun sighed in reprimand, glaring and pausing as the other Head met his gaze with similar disdain in his expression. Conveying to his instincts some other motive ignited his inimical attitude this time. — “... Was it truly that different from what you wanted to hear, Myrkzver? You appear to want a quick answer to something complicated like this.”
“... With that eye, you already guessed I’m incomplete with a cursed glance. This summon’s as undesired as your babbling always is.”
After listening to the man that wanted to keep to himself his heart’s troubles, the eye rooted to the ground Otrur Nolsvun possessed lit briefly, granting the clue to find in Aslak the will to tell further. Smirking at it... for it told the Head how a warning had been proved unheard.
“You are incomplete... but not ‘cause you wanted to. Am I correct?”
“...”
“The Female. You harmed her like I told you not to.”
“Trur. I’ve got no patience to endure your fucked mock.”
“You’ve never had patience for anything. Makes no difference to me.”
“... I had it right before harming her... I waited that day. Too patiently that I felt unnatural.”
“?... What you say I know nothing about, Aslak... Don’t ya wait for me to make you talk when there’s no time.” — Impatient himself, the Head growled at the uncooperative ways of the young man. Drinking the last of the water to twist his mouth in displeasure at it’s little taste before saying more. — “Khaa... When I met the Female, you agreed she wasn’t common. I told how her history was long and became wise after great suffering... and now, what you did... you now regret it.”
“...”
“What I said to be careful of... as I can see even without the earth’s aid given your hardened front... You must have harmed the Female with that she cannot let go of. That which continues to harm her from long ago.”
“.....”
“Shame... For you to also avert your gaze, tells myself shame weighs on you.”
