Bastard Homunculus: Reborn in the Corpse Pit-Chapter 177: Monster Queen Elimination(Part 3)

"Good work! Now, fall back and cover me, make sure none of the weaker Monsters interfere! Don’t let your guards down, this battle is only just getting started!" Commanded Jules, as she drew out her blade and shot forward.

"Understood, Commander, you can count on us!"

"We’ll keep them at bay, ma’am!"

Jules then swung her sword across as a roaring, swirling fireball came shooting towards her with immense speed, her blade slicing through it and killing its momentum.

She was up against a Fire Wyvern Queen. Fire Wyverns were High Level Monsters, essentially smaller and weaker versions of Fire Dragons.

The team accompanying her was made up of First-Class and Second-Class Knights, their role had been to eliminate the Monsters protecting the Queen, but there were too many Fire Wyverns for them to handle without suffering casualties, so Jules had stepped in to help thin the herd, she was intense on completing this task without losing anyone.

There were only a few of the Monsters left now, the other Knights were handling them while Jules was making a beeline for the Queen.

It was smaller than the other Fire Wyverns and didn’t have wings, instead having an additional pair of arms growing out where the wings would usually be.

Its lower jaw protruded ahead of its upper jaw, its fangs were jagged and uneven, and the tip of its tail was split in two and had a fiery glow of immense heat, the air around it shimmering.

It roared fiercely as Jules shot towards it, before snapping its jaws open and unleashing a blazing wave of flames towards her from its mouth.

"So, I have to literally fight fire with fire, huh? Let’s see how your flames compare to mine, shall we?"

She swiftly whipped her sword across and unleashed a fierce blast of flames from her blade, blowing away the Wyvern Queen’s flames before she leapt forward and slashed at it, inflicting a shallow cut across its stomach before quickly tilting her body across to the right as the Monster drove its claws down towards her.

She grimaced as one of its claws grazed the side of her left bicep, drawing out a trickle of blood before she drove her sword towards the middle of the Monster’s chest with a powerful twisting thrust.

She compressed flames around the tip of her blade as it plunged through the Monster Queen’s scales and tore into its flesh, before Jules unleashed the compressed flames in a powerful, fiery eruption, the Monster stumbling back as a small, scorched crater appeared across the middle of its chest.

The Monster snarled furiously in pain before spinning across and whipping its tail towards Jules, who quickly raised the face of her blade up defensively, its tail slamming against her blade with a sharp clang, before a stifling burst of heat erupted from the glowing tips of its tail, the force of the eruption sending Jules stumbling across to her left.

The Monster Queen then snapped open its jaws, a swirling mass of flames forming in its mouth, narrowing its eyes at Jules.

"Big mistake! Now, [Flame Manipulation]!" Exclaimed Jules, taking control of the flames in the Monster’s mouth, compressing it before shooting it down the Monster’s throat and releasing her control.

The flames expanded sharply and erupted intensely, damaging the Monster Queen’s throat before it snarled in pain as it drove the claws on its second pair of arms towards Jules.

"Tch, I thought that’d be enough to finish it off."

She evaded the claws on the left arm before blocking the claws on the right arm with her sword, a sharp clang ringing out as the claws collided against the blade, before she launched herself up and above the Monster with pressurized bursts of flames from the soles of her feet.

She then swung her sword down, firing off bursts of flames above the blade to drive it down with more force.

The Monster quickly tilted its head back, the blade striking the top of its snout and slicing through, splitting its upper jaw in half before Jules quickly raised her feet and fired out bursts of flames to shoot herself back as the Monster swiped its claws at her, narrowly evading the attack before she landed, her feet skidding back across the ground before she quickly lifted her gaze as the Monster Queen came charging towards her.

"[Flame Pillar]!" Chanted Jules, a large, towering pillar of flames erupting in front of her and rising up several meters, bringing the Monster to an abrupt halt.

Jules then blasted herself across to her left with a burst of flames, before launching herself forward, a few meters to the Monster’s right, before unleashing a devastating, concentrated slashing wave of flames with a rapid swing of her blade, a deafening roar of pain ringing out as a deep, scorched gash appeared across the right side of the Monster’s neck.

"Time to end this. [Giant Fire Blade]!" Exclaimed Jules, as she raised her sword straight up.

A massive amount of flames erupted around her blade and rose up several meters into the air, forming a large, towering blade of concentrated flames, the Monster’s eyes widening in alarm before it began to scramble away.

Jules whipped her blade down with immense speed, splitting the Monster Queen vertically in half in the blink of an eye, the large blade of flames scorching a deep, charred trail across the ground, the temperature around the area spiking sharply.

A couple of thuds echoed out as the two halves of the Monster Queen hit the ground, the flaming blade dissipating and fading away as Jules let out a slow exhale.

She then sheathed her blade and headed back to the other Knights, who had finished eliminating the other Fire Wyverns.

"Good work, everyone. Let’s head back now," She called out, as she stretched her arms out.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the nation...

"Come on, get down here already," Sighed Aster, as several streaks of lightning came crackling down towards him, striking his Telekinetic Zone and dissipating upon impact.

He was fighting a Thunderbird Queen, a High Level species. Thunderbirds were large bird-like Monsters with electric blue feathers that could generate and control lightning.

This particular Queen wasn’t as mutated as the other Monster Queens the Knights had encountered. It was slightly bigger than the other Thunderbirds, with a more slender torso.

It was keeping its distance from Aster, staying high up in the air and attacking with lightning bolts.

Aster wanted it to get close enough to grab it in his Telekinetic Zone, but it was showing no intention of swooping down to attack him directly. ƒгeewebnovёl.com

"This is annoying...the more I block its attacks with my Zone, the more wary it looks. At this rate, it might decide to run away before much longer. Alright, then...no choice but to try a more aggressive strategy," Decided Aster, before swinging his black blade across as a powerful bolt of lightning came shooting down towards him, absorbing the attack.

He then concentrated telekinetic energy below his feet as the Monster began to charge up lightning, before unleashing the telekinetic energy in a powerful burst, launching himself up towards the Monster Queen with blinding speed.

He used his Telekinetic Zone to slightly shift his trajectory as the Monster began to fly back in alarm, before it froze in mid-air as Aster got it within the range of his Zone, which he’d now expanded upto a three meter radius.

The lightning the Monster had been charging up dissipated as Aster tightly restrained its body, fear appearing in its eyes as Aster met its gaze and raised his white blade.

"Don’t worry, I’ll end this quickly and painlessly," Remarked Aster quietly, before swinging the blade across, unleashing a powerful telekinetic slash and slicing through its throat, decapitating the Monster Queen in an instant.

He then flew back down and set the Monster’s corpse on the ground, before spinning around as a sharp screech rang out behind him, to see a regular Thunderbird swooping down towards him, intense lightning crackling around it.

He fired out a devastating blast of telekinesis as the Monster closed in on him, the blast slamming against the Monster’s head and snapping its neck upon impact.

Aster sidestepped as the Thunderbird plummeted and hit the ground, skidding across the dirt as Aster let out a sigh.

"S-Sorry about that, Captain!"

"That was the last one, we let our guards down...it just suddenly stopped paying attention to us and shot towards you after you killed the Queen."

"Don’t worry about it, no harm done. But make sure to learn from this and don’t make the same mistake again," Replied Aster with a wry smile.

"Yes, sir, we’ll be more careful."

"Yeah, we’ll make sure to be more alert next time."

"Good, see that you do. But, for now, keep your heads high, this was a job well done. Let’s head back and report our success, shall we?" Suggested Aster with a grin.
