Chapter 314: Chapter 310: Awakening of Bloodline Talent

The appearance of sequence one was quicker than anyone had anticipated. Unless they saw it with their own eyes, they might have dismissed it as a false rumor intended to generate hype.

But now, they were completely in awe of Bai Qi’s terrifying strength.

A man and his beast had penetrated through the twelve guardians of the Yixiu family.

And Bai Qi was using four pets!

As everyone knew, because resources were limited, most Beast Masters focused on nurturing one of them, their main pet. The rest were chosen and trained based on their needs, but they were certainly no match for the main pet.

But now, Bai Qi, a newly promoted Fifth Stage Beast Master, had defeated twelve Beast Masters’ main pets using four pets, which was quite bizarre.

“Could this be Bai Qi’s main pet?”

“No way. My friend from the Thirteenth Bureau told me that Bai Qi’s main pet is a king-level undead creature, which is even more abnormal. It directly fights three opponents, and two of them are mythical species angels from the Bo Ge family.”

“Shh… the Bo Ge family is right next to us. Keep your voice down.”

“Cough, cough… Did I just speak?”

The Bo Ge family’s base.

Dean quietly watched Bai Qi, who was already standing under the obelisk, his face revealed no emotion.

“Dean, should we also go challenge?”

Dean shook his head and said, “No hurry. We only need to take action before time runs out.”

“Time’s up? I didn’t see any time limit.”

Lilith was a little confused, but Ellis who had been silent all along, patted Lilith and pointed to the sun gradually moving to the center above their heads. She then turned her gaze back to the obelisk.

“The sun? Could it be…”

Only then did Lilith notice that as the sun rose, the strange patterns on the obelisk became increasingly clear. One could vaguely make out the appearance of a giant eye, but it didn’t seem like it upon closer inspection.

“The Sun Secret Realm is closely related to the sun god in myths. I guess opening it would need the help of the sun. Otherwise, why would the three titled individuals make us wait one more day yesterday?”

“Then how did they…”

Lilith’s words trailed off as she abruptly stopped. The Yixiu family had gone through great lengths to create a mountain peak today, perhaps it was to open the Sun Secret Realm.

“Just watch the battle. After all, we’re going to be opponents soon.”

Dean glanced at Bai Qi at the top of the mountain, then turned his gaze to another blood-colored figure speeding towards the mountain road.

Whilst everyone’s attention was focused on Bai Qi, Li Xusheng was passing through the first checkpoint, the second checkpoint… with an equally terrifying speed.

Right now, Li Xusheng was up against Poisoned Suess, who had just recovered from his shock of failure.

“A Four Stage Beast Master?”

Feeling the vibes from Li Xusheng, Poisoned Suess perked up immediately.

Although he had lost badly to Bai Qi, Bai Qi was a Fifth Stage Beast Master after all. Moreover, even Carl had lost so it made Suess feel much better. However, he still felt a little gloomy.

To completely eliminate this gloominess, naturally, the best way was to bully a weakling.

Suess looked at Li Xusheng in full armor in front of him, and said: “State your name.”

“Thirteenth Bureau, Li Xusheng.”

Li Xusheng responded indifferently, glanced at Bai Qi at the top of the mountain, and asked, “Can we start?”

Why were the young people nowadays so rash?

Suess frowned slightly at this sight, but kept his patience and nodded. His Rot Bone Cynops Orientalis immediately launched a poison bomb at Li Xusheng.

Having learnt from Bai Qi’s lesson, Suess was not going to give his opponent any chance to breathe. He immediately launched an onslaught.

However, just as the poison bomb was about to engulf Li Xusheng, four blood tendrils that resembled tails flew out from behind Li Xusheng and deflected the poison bomb. With a heavy stomp of his feet, the platform under him exploded and Li Xusheng turned into an arrow leaving the bowstring, reaching the Rot Bone Cynops Orientalis directly.

“Again?!”

Suess became nervous when he saw this. Were all the Beast Masters so aggressive in combat nowadays?!

Just as Suess was complaining, Li Xusheng had already arrived in front of the Rot Bone Cynops Orientalis. The blood tendrils pierced through the body of the Rot Bone Cynops Orientalis, and his twin hammers smashed it down heavily onto the ground.

“It’s useless, the Rot Bone Cynops Orientalis…”

Seeing that Li Xusheng didn’t use any special abilities like Delta did, Suess breathed a sigh of relief. He was about to say something, but then saw Li Xusheng raise his hammers and the four blood tendrils converged on the side. A bloody orb was gradually formed.

“This is… You are a hybrid of legendary creatures!”

A look of horror crossed Suess’s face. He then saw a blood thunderbolt fall and directly hit the Rot Bone Cynops Orientalis. Suess saw smoke in purplish red rising from the body of the Rot Bone Cynops Orientalis, then lost the connection with it.

Another enemy defeated in one strike!

“This feeling… It seems that you have awakened your Bloodline Talent.”

Luo Xiang looked surprised upon seeing this. The Bloodline Talent was a unique benefit exclusive to the descendants of legendary creatures like Li Xusheng. When they developed their bloodline to a certain extent, they could awaken their talent, similar to how pets awakened their skills.

“Looks like Zero Team is adding another monster to their ranks…”

Under the obelisk.

Bai Qi curiously observed the runes on the obelisk that gradually lit up.

Perhaps because they came from mythical creatures, the runes on the obelisk had significant differences from those in the Emperor’s Secret Realm. However, despite the differences, Bai Qi could still identify several familiar runes.

“But why does the design seem similar to Beta’s eye? Could there be a connection between the Sun Secret Realm and the Three-eyed Civilization?”

Bai Qi wondered, recalling what Yi Yu had told him before parting. Could Yi Yu giving him the Void Pupil Amber not be a coincidence?

“Guardian of the tomb, can I enter the secret realm now?”

Impatient with curiosity, Bai Qi asked Malik, who was standing next to him.

“Not until the ranking battles conclude.”

Malik shook his head, adding, “And according to the rules, you should prepare for your duty as a guardian.”

Bai Qi was taken aback, only then remembering that he had taken over Carl’s position as the new guardian and would have to face challenges from others.

“What a hassle…”

Eager to enter the secret realm and verify the connection between the Three-eyed Civilization and the Sun Secret Realm, Bai Qi quietly leaned on Delta, turning his attention to the screen overhead to watch the current challengers.

“Huh, it’s Li Xusheng? He’s already reached the tenth stage?”

Watching Li Xusheng on the screen, wielding two hammers and a blood tail that whipped around as if an avatar of a blood god had descended, Bai Qi was somewhat surprised.

“He seems to have improved quite a bit since the last big competition.”

During Bai Qi’s brief observation, Li Xusheng had already knocked out his opponent at the tenth stage with a single strike of his hammer and was striding towards the eleventh stage.

The guardian of this stage was none other than Blood-eyed Carl, who had just been defeated by Bai Qi.

Even though Carl had been ousted as a guardian by Bai Qi, it didn’t mean he had lost the qualification to challenge others. Hence, after Malik announced the results, Carl directly moved to the eleventh stage.

The previous challenger at the eleventh stage, discerning his own strength compared to Bai Qi and Li Xusheng, wisely conceded his position and returned to the Yixiu family camp.

Finally, Li Xusheng stood before Carl.

The two of them, holding similar backgrounds and even similar supernatural powers, locked eyes. Instead of showing sympathy for each other, they both felt a sense of revulsion.

Without any warning, both of them launched an attack practically simultaneously.

The tomb-bearing zombie unleashed an attack with his giant stone tablet, pressing onto Li Xusheng like a mountain. Li Xusheng, showing no intention of dodging, bravely met the blow with his twin hammers, showing no signs of being at a disadvantage.

Moreover, the blood tail behind Li Xusheng continued to launch assaults at the zombie from varying difficult angles. The whooshing sound could be heard with each whip of the tail.

The brutal and straightforward combat style of the man and zombie made the blood of the watching Beast Masters boil with excitement.

A back-and-forth battle was what they anticipated, unlike the boring one-hit-kill fights with Bai Qi.

Seeing this, Carl immediately activated his Bloodline Talent, targeting both Li Xusheng and his four pets with whom he had fused.

Although the Fusion Talent allowed one to merge with their pets regardless of any conditions, the degree of fusion was still related to the compatibility between the Beast Master and their pets.

If Carl’s Bloodline Talent affected his condition, Li Xusheng’s fused state could easily be forced apart.

Yet, Carl’s talent was completely ineffective against Li Xusheng. The blood-coloured eyes that had proven effective every time before had no impact on Li Xusheng, as though the blood within Li Xusheng and his four pets had consciously chosen to ignore Carl.

“Blood Controllers, so you indeed are a descendant of that thing…”

Carl sneered, retorting, “Just perfect, my blood zombies prefer to feast on the blood of your ilk.”

Having said that, the tomb-bearing zombie once again activated his king-level field, causing the blood tail behind Li Xusheng and even the blood within to fly out uncontrollably towards the zombie.

This ability to forcefully absorb the blood within the range of his field and turn it into his own – this was the true power of the Zombie’s field.

Facing the blood-sucking capability of the zombie, Li Xusheng seemed without a viable way to retaliate. Despite his attempts to fight back, his blood tail was slowly being stripped away, and his condition was increasingly weakening.

Finally, after all four of his blood tails were drained away, Li Xusheng couldn’t support himself and fell to one knee.

“Blood Controllers, absent of blood, you’re but waste.”

A hint of disdain flickered in Carl’s eyes as he prepared to recall the zombie. However, he noticed that the zombie’s body began twisting at a weird angle.

“Knowing that I’m a Blood Controller, you still dared to absorb my blood. Foolish.”

Li Xusheng slowly rose to his feet, his right hand lightly clenched. Countless blood thorns sprung out from within the zombie’s body, turning it into a pincushion.

Then, these blood thorns left the body of the zombie and formed a tail again behind Li Xusheng.

But Carl’s tomb-bearing zombie fell to the ground the moment its blood left its body, unable to move.

Carl suffered a second consecutive defeat!
