Beast Taming: the More the Better-Chapter 773 - 338: The Preliminary Completion of the Heart of Soul! The Eerie Mirror Realm!
Beneath a vast, clear blue sky, the sunlight, though not scorching, was still quite glaring.
At the end of the road in front of the Heart of Myriad Spirits, the refurbishment of an entire street of storefronts was proceeding in an orderly and methodical manner.
However, with the dual support of machinery and Pet Beast power, over half of this construction project had already been completed in less than two months.
Four figures emerged from the main entrance of the Heart of Myriad Spirits, crossed the road, and stood before a relatively unique, fully constructed doorway, looking up.
The plaque on this door was vastly different from those of the other establishments still under construction, including the Heart of Dream Experience Hall.
It was a large, dark red plaque.
Upon the plaque were only three large characters: ’Heart of Soul’.
"That fellow surnamed Bai sure moves fast!"
The speaker was none other than Li Shu. Beside him were Ding Xiaolong, Zhao Qingqing, and Guan Lili, all of whom were now at the Heart of Myriad Spirits.
Li Shu was quite familiar with this place, having visited a few times before. The other three, however, were clearly here for the first time.
"Is this the Heart of Soul?"
Ding Xiaolong had arrived at the Heart of Myriad Spirits and, over the past two days, had gained a general understanding of it. After learning about the scale of the Heart of Myriad Spirits, even this proud Genius Breeder couldn’t help but marvel at Su Ping’s ambitious vision. Developing a Pet Beast base with such a vast variety and quantity of creatures was definitely not something achievable with money alone. He was somewhat curious about the Heart of Soul, a breeding base for Undead Pet Beasts, as it was a field entirely unrelated to him.
Li Shu, as a veteran, naturally began the introduction. "Bro Ping’s idea is that, in addition to housing Undead Pet Beasts that can be fostered and bred, this place will mainly host activities like haunted houses and survival-themed events. This not only provides new entertainment for visitors but also helps the Undead Pet Beasts maintain their activity levels. A large part must have been completed recently, as Bro Ping has been holed up here for a day or two. Apart from yesterday when Old Liu came looking for him, I haven’t seen him since."
Zhao Qingqing and Ding Xiaolong nodded, pushed open the large door of the Heart of Soul, and walked inside.
"You’re here?"
Just as they stepped inside, a bespectacled young man, his face somewhat pale from a chronic lack of sunlight, greeted them with a smile.
"Yeah, what does Bro Ping need us for?" Li Shu glanced at Bai Cang.
It had to be said, this fellow indeed had some tricks up his sleeve. The Undead Pet Beasts he had previously selected weren’t exactly chosen to cause trouble, but they certainly weren’t creatures that had spent a long time with humans or had any affinity for them. Yet, in less than two months, this guy had nearly completed their training. This was enough to prove that Bai Cang truly possessed the talent to be a Breeder.
"Breeder Su said he’ll have us go to the Zombie Settlement, and to the inner cultivation chamber of the Paperman Spirit Hall, to find him. He has something to discuss with us," Bai Cang said hurriedly.
He cherished this opportunity greatly. In this world, professions dealing with Pet Beasts—such as Breeders, Combat Beast Tamers, and countless sub-branches like potion researchers specializing in Magic Potion cultivation, or various kinds of Mechanists—were vastly different from other occupations. Securing a chance to enter this field meant an opportunity to rise above others.
He had previously worked for a long time as an intern Breeder and designer at the Ghost Dragon Breeding Base in the Imperial Capital, all in anticipation of such an opportunity. To his surprise, upon returning to Jianghai for the New Year, while feeling lost about his future, his cousin delivered this great news, allowing him to smoothly gain Su Ping’s appreciation and recognition.
He had indeed put in 120% effort and preparation to earn Su Ping’s regard. This was evident from his increasingly gaunt and pale face these days, which more closely matched the stereotypical image of a Necromancy Beast Tamer.
"What’s it about? What has Bro Ping been busy with these past few days?"
Bai Cang shook his head. "That’s beyond my knowledge. However, Breeder Su seems to need a bit more time. Would you like to look around the Heart of Soul? When Bro Ping is ready, he’ll naturally call for us."
At these words, the four exchanged glances. Apart from Zhao Qingqing, the others were indeed quite interested.
"Alright, but let’s make sure it doesn’t delay the important business."
The group of five, consisting of current interns or Breeders who could barely manage on their own in various fields within the Heart of Myriad Spirits, grandly became the first batch of visitors to the nascent Heart of Soul.
The architecture of the Heart of Soul was quite special, requiring ample space for its construction.
Thus, the storefronts along the road merely served as an entrance. The five reached the completely sealed-off rear of the Heart of Soul and, under Bai Cang’s guidance, boarded the track car at the back.
Two track trains operated on separate lines for entry and exit. The dark, gloomy passage resembled the last train depicted in various urban legends.
It was profoundly dark; only the two trains, blinking with sinister red lights, were visible. They resembled monstrous beasts with maws agape in the darkness, awaiting their prey.
The red-lit train seemed to be heading straight to hell.
