Beastmen Love-Chapter 207: Bothering Female

Astri, Kenzou, and Shinkou walk around the festival grounds. Males wonder if they can get closer to Astri, but she’s walking around with her arm linked with Kenzou, making them believe they’re spouses. "And I always said no. I will always say no. I will always think you’re the worst to be my spouse. I don’t want someone to stay with me out of pity."

"Talk to someone who doesn’t want to hear is the same as talking to a wall." Astri says.

They sigh, getting calmer and understanding that what Shinobu says is not true, and they know that. They don’t need to prove anything.

"I wasn’t talking to you, little despicable thing." Shinobu says.

"I wasn’t either. Are you this entitled to think everyone wants to give you attention?" Astri asks, with a smirk on her face.

Shinobu breathes angrily. Astri’s energy and way of talking to her make her feel that Astri is always on top of Shinobu, and that makes her very angry.

"You might be capable of hiding your true motives from them, but I can see that you’re the worst kind of female. And you’re so small that I wonder if you can handle a pregnancy." Shinobu says.

Astri only stays smiling. If Shinobu knew she had three pregnancies and had a dragon and a whale as spouses, Shinobu would shut up easily, but since she can’t prove her point, she stays quiet. If she says anything about her family, people will wonder what happened to them or start to ask questions about how she met Kenzou, or things that are hard to explain. "No. I was just wondering if you’re the only female around here who is so desperate that it ends up being so not elegant. But since you’re the only one that is here, and the other females are more sure of themselves and don’t bother me, I can see that you’re the only desperate here." Astri says, and chuckles, making Shinkou and Kenzou chuckle, too.

The others that was watching the little duel of words also chuckled, hiding their lips behind their hands. Astri can see that even if females don’t like her presence, they’re elegant enough not to bother her or each other. And that’s amazing in Astri’s eyes.

"Now, if you please, excuse us. I still want to see more of this beautiful festival. I think you should enjoy your time, too, besides bothering other females." Astri says, linking her arms with Kenzou’s and Shinkou’s and then walking away with them, waving at the kids. "Other day we can play more, all right? Enjoy the ball!"

Shinobu knows that if she starts any physical fight with Astri now will only make people think she’s desperate, so she only walks away in defeat.

"Where did you learn to deal with females like this?" Kenzou asks.

"I had to deal with worse females than her. And even males." Astri answers.

They keep walking, and Shinkou feels his heart beating strongly because she’s still wrapping her arm around his. When they arrive at the bridge, Astri watches the water sparkling with the full Moon and the lanterns around. She supports her arms on the guardrail and enjoys the wind a little. That’s when a male comes to her and shows her a jewel box.

"Please, accept this gift.." He says.

"It’s so pretty!" Astri says, impressed with the details.

It has flowers painted in gold on dark color wood.

"I’m happy you liked it." The male says, happily.

That’s when the other males who were following them had the courage to give gifts to her as well. Shinkou watched that situation with a shocked face. She got hairpins, pouches, and kimonos.

"Everything is so beautiful, but with all due respect, I’m not a female who accepts a male as a spouse just because she received a gift. I believe that my spouses deserve my love, more than just my body, because they deserve happiness, too. And to nurture these feelings between each other, it takes time. I appreciate you buying these gifts, but I can’t accept them because of what I had just explained, all right?" Astri says, impressing the males even more.

They weren’t expecting to hear what she said. And that didn’t make them sad; that made them even more interested in her. They tell her that she can keep the gifts and that she doesn’t need to accept them, and that they will court her on her own terms.

It was male, watching what just happened from afar. He has long, ocean blue with few streaks of silver that glint with the moonlight. His hair is tied with a half knot with an elegant silver hairpin. His skin is pale with a blue undertone when lighted by the moonlight. He wears flowing dark teal and indigo robes, embroidered with silver thread in wave and cloud motifs.

The males around got impressed with his presence and simply walked back in a sign of respect. Astri found it weird the other’s behavior, but could see that Kenzou and Shinkou didn’t move away from her, and just bowed a little to show respect towards that male.

He walks in her direction with grace and precision. She looks at his eyes, that was piercing her with their sea-green color and almond shape. When he got closer to her, he could sense something different coming from her. He looks at Kenzou, the Shrine Protector, and wonders why he’s walking around Astri.

"My name is Seiryuu, milady." He says, with an elegant, deep voice, and shows his hand to her.

She never saw a male offering a hand to shake, but she gave her hand to him, and he simply held it. That’s when she noticed he was feeling her energy, making her smile.

"My name is Astri. It’s an honor to meet you, Lord Seiryuu."
