Chapter 200: Worried about leaks

Disappeared?

Watching Josed leave, they could only give their farewells. They were not a part of the Tiger tribe. Josed had already let them know he would give more information if he had it.

When the two males were out of sight, Visha spoke, "Apparently, Nimo was right. Do you remember?"

Visha remembered being in the grotto. The cub voiced his opinion about not going to the Triger tribe to stay. He had a bad dream. While they had taken it lightly, it didn’t mean they had forgotten.

The memory is particularly clear because Nimo helped navigate their journey more than once. He is a cub, but he is a cub with a gift.

Visha remembered reading that priests are sensitive to vital energy. Is that why Nimo could assist? He is sensitive to vital energy and has a kind of ’radar’ gift.

She voiced her opinion to Uri and Xeno. They agreed with her. But they also agreed to allow Nimo to be a cub a while longer. If he were to take on the duties of a priest now, it would be a loss for him.

"Nimo aside, we need to speak to the pack about this. This is good news for us." Xeno walked inside Visha and Uri.

"But it poses a problem," Uri sat down in one of the sofas and closed his eyes. "If they find partners outside of the tribe, will they tell them about our tribe? Will they teach them to absorb vital energy?"

"Should we get them to bring their partners back here?" Xeno leaned forward, hand under his chin. "If their partner comes from a larger tribe, would they agree?"

Yes. A person from a large tribe is unlikely to go to a tribe lacking the same amenities.

Visha did not think they were lacking amenities. Compared to where they came from and where they were now. It was a world of difference.

Now the tribe had proper clothing. Not just animal skins wrapped around their body. The cheetahs brought better tanning methods. So what they wore became more flexible.

They found veins and bones that could act as a needle and thread. And with Visha’s knowledge of fashion, everyone now had their own style.

While she was sad about not being able to find anything like cotton or linen. At the very least, they left the idea of loinclothes behind. Though most males still prefer loincloths because shifting isn’t hindered.

The only thing she really thought about was forging. When she followed the First Beast, few people used weapons. Even the First Beast herself did not.

But that didn’t mean there weren’t any.

She had seen a weapon that could exert the same power she could now. She had seen a male who wielded the weapon. Though it was only in one war, there was still such a person.

Shaking her head, she thought back to the topic at hand. Telling the pack about the festival.

"This is what we need to talk to the pack about. They can make their own choices. The only condition we have of them is not to let anything about vital energy be known. I don’t believe this is a high requirement."

Uri and Xeno listened as Visha spoke. They didn’t want any of their pack members to leave. The danger of knowing what they do is too great. They cannot guarantee that other tribes do not know this information.

To them, it would be better to keep things in the pack quiet until they were strong enough to fight for it.

"There is one thing. When Kaelen and I went back to the grotto. Do you remember what I told you?" Visha scanned the faces of the two males.

She was referring to the spring in the grotto. She hadn’t thought about it much since the time she went. It was a mystery that she dared not think about. But now...

Because she knew about vital energy, she thought to herself that the spring might actually be a spring filled with vital energy. As for why it didn’t show its presence when they first arrived, she didn’t dwell on it.

The certain energy the system was telling her about must be vital energy.

"You want to go back and have a look?"

Visha winked at Xeno. He understands her so well. Not that it took much to figure out. She thought it would be good for them to go and take a look. If the spring is still there, they will find a way for the tribe to use it.

"We don’t need to go now. We can go after the festival. That way, if any of the females decide to leave, they won’t have any information about the spring. If we can’t keep vital energy from being leaked. We can at least keep the spring secret."

Uri and Xeno agreed with Visha. Vital energy is everywhere. If they can learn about it, so can others. Rather than keeping it a secret, they may as well make their own people stronger.

"After the festival, we will need to form a pack bond with the newcomers," Uri said. "And don’t forget the pack bond can keep them from mentioning certain things about the pack. If too much information is leaked, we will still be able to feel it."

The pack bond is a wondrous thing. The larger the pack gets, the tighter the restraints become. Possibly, the pack bond understands that there are secrets that cannot be known outside the bond.

It acts like a living entity. Betrayal will always alert them. It sifts negative emotions, otherwise every ’bad’ thought would be considered betrayal.

The trio found that if they restricted certain information, the pack could not talk about it. The pack itself hadn’t realized that they unconsciously stopped talking about it.

It was like that for a month before they changed the parameters.

Visha was truly surprised when she first learned the bond could do such a thing. They worried about what they might say outside of the pack, but the truth is they might not be able to say anything at all.

Unless, of course, this person is stronger than the three of them.
